So the new race is basically more customization for humans and bloodelves with the zandalari moonkinform.A new race completly build on the two most popular races with a forced combat form that has 0 transmog... great. Much wow.
I don't mind the dragonriding thing, though I have a couple of concerns...They have mentioned accessibility options for things like motion sickness etc. but I wonder if, at higher levels of skill, the riding part will require ridiculous levels of hand-eye coordination and twitch response to accomplish goals.I wonder, because I'm sure I'm not the only one to remember (and not fondly) a certain "shoot the orbs" chest in Nazjatar that I flat out couldn't do normally due to age and lack of skill. I'm not proud to say it, but I resorted to an addon for that one. I hope dragonriding doesn't end up with anything too similar to that!Second concern is about flying in general. I get that dragonriding will be the primary form of flying in DF, but I hope they allow you to unlock flying for normal flying mounts too in due course. I have the feeling that the "whoosh...swoop...soar" hands-on flying will become tiresome after a while when all you want to do is go from A to B for the millionth time.I would think, if they have designed the levels AND dragonriding correctly, that there are places ONLY dragonriding will allow you to get to. It should be not too difficult for them to block access to normal flying mounts to those places. All they'd have to do is lower the ceiling that normal mounts could reach, perhaps, or employ invisible walls that dragonriding can ignore.Plus, as much as I like the customisation options, I think seeing everyone on a dragon will get old quite quickly, no matter how different they all look. I mean, wasn't this the very reason they ditched the water strider's walk on water ability? Because they didn't like seeing everyone on one? Well that, and they wanted to do the (seemingly forgotten) mount equipment system. Does anyone even use anything other than the water walking boots anyway? Not gonna lie, dragonriding feels a bit like that. A system added at the expense of mounts that could already do what players wanted them to do whilst gimping said mounts. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong.Anyway, hopefully when we get more info some of these questions will be cleared up.
I just wanted to apologize for my overreaction to the term snoot being official. Once I thought about it, I realized that shouldn't be enough to say no to preordering. Not to mention, there are a couple of unrelated reasons why that might not be an option so soon. Well, aside from only knowing that we might get a dragon as a preorder bonus. I just hope it's better than SL where the companion, mount, and transmog set were all lackluster. I would forgive the last one, IF the Echo of Mortatily didn't have such a sad drop rate. That said, I still feel the same about the different drake body types. The wyvern is the only one I like, even though I generally enjoy dragons. Maybe I'll eventually soften up towards the rest of them, if only due to Tina Wang's backhanded comment about the proto-drakes. I might draw the line at the antlers since that's a big reason why I chose not to make a Highmountain Tauren. Again, big reason since I haven't had much success with other classes. On a more positive note, I usually spend more time on deciding on a character's name. I once spent maybe 30 min. to an hour just renaming my Blood Elf Hunter. I don't tend to spend the same amount on appearances. Maybe it'll be different with the Dracthyr because the fighting forms and some of the visage forms look cute. Speaking of the dragon people, since we've heard nothing about Black Dragonflight magic, I wonder if it's like the Dragon Soul/Demon Soul where Neltharion didn't actually add any of his essence.
If there's a Dragon Sheep, there better also be a Polymorph: Dragon Sheep
