In the latest 10.2 PTR build, the RP in Dawn of the Infinites Mythic+ has been significantly reduced.
We've calculated the total time of RP, but this does not include travel time.
Dawn of the Infinites: Iridikron's Fall
In Iridikron's Fall, there's about 42 seconds of RP now (down from 89 seconds). This doesn't include 33 seconds of Iridikron spawn RP but you can start it earlier.
7 seconds - Door Opening right away.
0 seconds (was 21) - Portal Opening to 3rd boss area RP removed.
8 seconds - Blight of Galakrond spawn animation.
27 seconds (was 53) - After Blight of Galakrond until Barrier falls.
33 seconds - Iridikron spawn RP. Can be started early during trash by having someone run forwards.
That's a lot of standing around doing nothing in a Mythic+ dungeon!
Dawn of the Infinites: Murozond's Rise
In Murozond's Rise, there's about 104 seconds of unskippable RP where nothing is going on. This doesn't include 33 seconds of Tyr RP as you can do extra trash during it.
33 seconds - Tyr Spawn. Can do trash during.
0 seconds (was 25) - Trash Spawn after Tyr dies.
10 (was 19) - Gauntlet Speed Boost delay.
6 seconds - Double Dragon Spawn After Gauntlet.
8 seconds (was 18) - Lothar Spawn delay.
24 seconds - Portal open to last boss.
17 sec (was 38) - Trash Spawn after taking portal.
39 sec (was 59) - Last Barrier delay after Trash Dies.

"Significantly Reduced the quality of Dawn of the Infinites due to Mythic+"
Fixed that for you wowhead
"b-b-b-ut the top 0.1% speedrun community needs the RP removed!"
No, we need the top 0.1% speedrun community removed. People who cannot afford 10 seconds of dialogue because they'll see it 30000 times a week, are people I'd rather see unsubscribed.
When Blizzard makes the game for "esports people" all they ever produce is literal fecal matter.
It’s not like it’s going to change the “real” dungeon; only the mythic+ version. What’s the problem with removing some of the downtime, specifically in the version of the dungeon that’s intended to be repeatedly done under a time constraint?
Because they also ruined the normal version too just like they did with every other old ini they changed to stupid m+, see jellyfish elevator in throne of tides. I had no time for the ini and now cant experience it ever.

I get the annoyance of RP in a timed event, but since all teams are subjected to the same roleplay and (presumably) it’s factored into the timing numbers as well how does it matter?
People spending 8 hours a day running M+ and mad about spending a minute of forced roleplay.
Okay, let's follow this logic train right there: People are spending 8 hours running M+. Now Murozond's Rise has 104 seconds of RP, while it takes about 30 minutes total to beat. If you are getting real efficient, you might be looking at 14 M+ dungeons in that 8 hour period, because you have to have a break somewhere here or there. So if you have 104 seconds of RP 14 times, that's a total of over 24 minutes, or close to the time of another M+ dungeon.
Also let's be more reasonable here: Let's say you run 200 dungeon over the season, each on average with 60 seconds of RP, that's 3 hours and 20 minutes of that season that you spent waiting around, doing nothing other than looking at how the timer ticks down.
Everybody and their mom knows, that RP is a factor for the timer. But that doesn't remove how ridiculous it is to be forced to wait, when your timer is going down, but can do literally nothing about it. And over the course of a lot of dungeons it really adds up. It's not like you have that RP once and are done with it, it happens every single key.
Oh WoW, I spent 3 hour and 20 min waiting out of (200 x 30 = 6000) 1000 hours of playing !
Holy hell, that mean I spent 0.3% of my time waiting ? OH MY GOD ! is this new Blizz plan to force people to play more and earn more sub money ! Damn Blizzzzzzz ! Now Bobby gonna have enough extra money to buy another yacht due to this !
Jokes aside.... this is literally how WoW community been these days ^^ sigh.
these 104 second is not even full 104 second of waiting, every RP there is some time spend for moving to next pack and such, which reduce some second out of it, the last remaining part is more like 80~90 Second.
And this 80-90 second is shared between different RPs, so it's almost negligible,
Most importantly, It's not really "wasted time"
It is a breathing time for the healer to Regen mana or for everyone's Big CDs to come off CD.
Which in turn make your have a faster killing of the next patch after that. (unless you saving your CD for another pack ofc)
so all in all... this 0.3% is not even 0.3% or real wasted time...
You might wanna check that math again, mate.
you are correct, I somehow counted 1000 hour instead of 100. but I would have still said literally the same thing coz 3% is still negligible and as I explained in second later anyway, it's not even wasted time but useful time.

Best is to let RP timer stay but add 1 min more to dungeon timer, if is not enough.

Why? Most people, M+ or not, hate unskippable/forced RP when they've seen it 1000 times.
