Commenters upset that you have the chance to help Alexstrasza escape her torture and forced birthing instead of helping her to get out of that situation. I hope you people don't reproduce.
So the “lore” still happened. She was abused. We just save her now. I don’t know. Re write the other quest. Make it serious. Put a disclaimer. Player has a choice to do it or not. Wow has dark subjects in it. It is not a kids game. Cool y’all are willing to change but you could have still went with the lore and made it a serious quest line.
This rewriting is perfect and more in line. Thanks Blizzard, the previous iteration was really atrocious.
so this is pretty much the same quest, just recontextualized it?
Cool, they implemented the exact change people were asking for and didn't retcon anything in doing so.
This is how it shouldve been from the start. It made more sense as heroes and champions to aid and ensure her escape in the first place.
Good change. Still alarmed the first version made it onto PTR in the first place.
Preferred the old one but whatever, no big loss. Wish Blizz would let us be the unhinged murder hobos our characters clearly are a little more often.
Now this looks much better
Thank you for this blizz :)
Ayyyy this is good! We get some day of the dragon lore in game!
So in ensuring her escape, we aren't in the "true timeline" anymore? Because that's not what happened in our timeline.
This is a good step, I was disappointed at the idea we were going to just pretend that story didn't exist due to all the outrage, this seems like an improvement for most people. My gripe is still not addressed, though. It's odd to me that everyone is fixated on dragon mom but nobody seems to care what happened to her mates, who btw all died horribly. Wanna know where Tyranistrazs is? His bones are littered around the Wetlands and his skull is mounted in Ironforge in the museum. Not only was he used the same was Alexstrasza was, but the orcs would force him to go out and fight, and then come back and do the deed, battered and bloody. So, where's all the outrage and bleeding hearts for the 3 male consorts who were essentially SA'd and exhausted to death? Nowhere, because 99% of people with strong opinions haven't read the book and didn't understand what they were complaining about. Just so you know, by helping Alexstrazsa escape, you're also ensuring Tyranistrasz's death in this situation. I guess nobody minds being "complicit" if it's a male character though.
This is obviously an improvement, given the subject matter of the original version, but it's still a really bad quest with really bad writing. The Bronze Dragonflight is a complete mess with no internal consistency. And I used to really like them!
