I came here expecting to read something horrible. This isn't bad. I have a lot of opinions about people that have nothing to do with the game that I don't bring into the game because I'm there to enjoy it while playing. This helps bring things into focus. One of the things I really enjoyed about my WoW hiatus playing with Final Fantasy 14 was seeing how much better behaved dungeon PUGs were, how nice they were. I always make sure to say hello when joining a random dungeon or BG queue, sometimes I'm the only one who says anything and it doesn't bother me, but foster the behavior you wish to see in game and make liberal use of the ignore/report options for spammers as needed.I hope they follow through with better hands-on enforcement (rather than automated) as well, especially when it comes to the botting/multiboxing issues that I do see occasionally happening.
So basically "don't be an $%^&*!@." I appreciate the effort and it's certainly a step in the right direction. Now, the question is whether they'll go the extra mile and actually enforce the terms of this contract. If they're willing do that and show the playerbase that this actually has some kind of weight, then this will be a net positive for the game.
The social contract idea needs to go both ways. This is a dangerous and largely unfair world and you do need to do your best to toughen up your skin when someone says something offensive. Do your best to ignore people who say things that are unhelpful or return their ignorance with understanding instead of getting all bent out of shape. And so on. I hope this safe space @#$% doesn't last too long. We need to grow the ^&*! up and handle our !@#$ in a more realistic way.
So is this going to pop up every time the game is launched? Or just at the beginning of 9.2.5.
Elon Musk seriously needs to buy this company too
That's cool af, I'm sick of being harassed
I wasn't going to comment because after from occasionally killing a mob somebody else wanted (sorry to the Worgen player in the Eastern Plaguelands), I go out of my way to not be annoying. I had to remind myself that I'm probably in the minority, though. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it got that far because I remember somebody in trade chat who couldn't just say they didn't like nasally voices. They had to make it about race then spin it as an attack on free speech. There's also that one guy who flat out admitted to using offers of Korthite Crystals to scam people. Yeah, I didn't think that was okay. However, I guess nobody batted an eye because he's popular. Either that or because the devs and gms take so long getting around to reports. So, I found it interesting when he complained later that he's had a lot of people make deals knowing that they couldn't pay then disappearing. Now I'm not saying they're in the right because I'm pretty sure that also counts. I'm just saying that I wouldn't view that as coincidence.
blizzard always makes their rules incredibly vague so to counter any and all possible circumstances, so peopel cant try to be smart or act dumb upon it, they purposely make them vague for that reason, therfore they can always have the final say regardless...
they want players to act better than the employees that work there.
1st and foremost Elon buy Blizzard and bring back free speech.2ndly there is no such thing as hate speech. Every single word somone finds insensative or hateful or has some issue with it. Who defines what is hate speech? There is not hate speech all speech is speech. Not saying there isn't consequences for innapropriate words but you all need to get off that horse.
I cant wait to be reported for referring to someone with the wrong pronoun.
Players' fee fees are that tender? Awww. Maybe they should bring back the garrisons next expansion so people can get away from all of the bad people and mean words. Oh, how about DON'T PLAY A SOCIALLY INTERACTIVE GAME IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF HOW PEOPLE INTERACT WITH YOU. What a stupid thing to focus on by Blizz. Really? THIS is the biggest feedback you've gotten from the players?
