As it should be. Shouldn't get the base materials back for the legendary. Should be at least a minor inconvenience for scrapping a legendary.Overall amazing change, should have been added at the start of 9.1 but that's besides the point.
Nice one. It would be great if they could do something about the ridiculous prices of the base pieces as well. Personally that is one of the reasons why I dodge alting in Shadow lands.
Fine with that, It keeps the professions viable still
They should just remove ranks 1-4 and give everyone rank 5 as the base and have the optional crafting reagent just grant 1 level then when 9.2 comes out all you need to do is add a new crafting reagent that bumps it to rank 7 being ilvl 288.
The fact that 100% of soul ash/cinders is refunded surprised me. It's completely fine that base item is consumed, those weren't really a problem anyway and they keep the professions relevant.

I’m glad because otherwise it would basically make professions obsolete, as people would be able to recycle and switch legendaries like changing talents.
My guy, if store mounts are ruining ANY of your game, its time to get outside and touch some grass.
So its easy for Blizz now, nerfing or buffing legendaries so ppl are forced to craft new ones seems like brilliant Money making machine. This means if they changes up the meta they also make a toon as well. Sadge

I understand why, because the market would absolute ^&*! the bed without it, but with the new bonuses it seems almost needless. Still a good addition none-the-less.

Why would anyone want soul cinders back instead of 250k worth of gold back?I would rather farm torghast for the soul ashes and soul cinders few hours than spending another 250k gold for an item that is relevant for a patch.I would rather be spending that amount of gold on something permanent like mount or even a pet than on an item thats going away in few months.Why not scrap legendaries to get the mats back instead of soul ash or cinder or whatever bull*!@# this is. After they made it so that you can farm soul ashes and cinders without weekly lockout?Its fine blizzard. I can run your choreghast few hours to get the soul cinder but it doesnt take few hours to farm 250k gold.Or people who wants to learn to craft higher rank legendaries, they have to spend tons and tons of materials for lower ranks which no one is going to buy. Why cant they recycle those low ranks so they can learn to craft their own legendaries?
