The Four Horsemen from 40 man Naxx say hi!
If people think this is the hardest raid, then this is the only expansion they have played lol. Mythic KJ in Legion, Gorefiend in WoD, etc etc. No this raid is actually a joke compared to older raids. Especially back when Tempest Keep came out, no one cleared it till the very next patch for the new raid came out. The only reason they nerf raids has nothing to do with power progression, but because the raiders of today are more stupid than they were back then just saying.
what do you find difficult in sfo :?
MY DREAM RAID DESIGN:1) Remove LFR and mythic. 2) Make new normal difficulty, that bad player can clear after a while and average player can clear without major issues. 3) Make new heroic raid difficulty that is slightly more difficult than current heroic, but not as much as current mythic. Make each boss more difficult than the previous one, so the last ones take decent amount of pulls and commitment.4) Instead of constant nerfing, adjusting and cattering to mythic difficulty, design 20 man two boss raid with single difficulty for the world first race players and top 1%, that is tuned around having BiS from the new heroic raid difficulty. Make the mechanics as complex and insane, that it removes possibilty to boost noob without gear through it (remove incentive to boost), Give some sweet cosmetic as reward, mount, title whatever but not gear.5) Every boss drops it's own token on top of current loot. There is a loot vendor that exchanges boss tokens for piece of gear from the loot table of that boss. You can choose whatever loot you want from that loot table.
I'd say its been the hardest since Legion started. For context my guild is progressing heroic jailerIt has harder skill and dps checks than previous tiers and there is no natural soft nerf as time progresses, i.e. no artifact power type mechanic which slowly increases your power. So if blizzard want more blocked people to complete this as time goes on they have limited options except nerfs. Its been the case that m+ has dropped better gear than heroic, but this is the first time we've felt that all the raiders must do these activities to beat HC end boss. People can't just raid log and get covered by the people that do all the content. Its a philosophical argument if you think this should be the case for heroic, but in previous tiers it wasn't need.
There must be literally no one doing this raid for them to nerf it this hard.
This raid only has low clear numbers because a lot of players have seriously just dumped wow before this tier. Blizz always turbo nukes the last raid of the expansion so idk what this post is even about. I think there is under 300 guilds who have CE? Everyone is just waiting till next xpack lol
From one who only does up to heroic, personally i'm going to go with yes here. This expansion in general, there have been just a lot of encounters which punish entire raids for one persons mistakes. Whereas before mistakes were more cumulative and you could handle a few before things fell apart. Sepulcher has had a lot of these punishing mechanics, especially Rygelon. That said, there are a lot of cool fights in this raid, and the encounter design is pretty solid
Progressively nerfing the raid is poor. Release it in a more balanced state from the beginning. Dratnos and Tettles are both in very, very good guilds that get HoF. They don't represent the vast majority of M guilds that struggle and stop raiding because the raid is too difficult.
Gothik the Harvester was the hardest boss in World of Warcraft.
This raid is basically two raid tiers, as we all are well aware Andiun was meant to be a final boss with another tier left to kill jailer. They can deny this all they want but I think its pretty obvious. I expect to see more raids like Dratnos mentioned where maybe 2 boss's have SOF difficulty but not 4. It was more poor planning and game design on blizzards part (shocker) than them just cranking the difficulty up (IMO). :)
Castle Nathria was harder imho in terms of pure difficulty. We didn't have dual legos, tier sets, domination gems, etc. We started off with a much lower iLvl at the start to boot (iLvl 180-200 baby).SoD was easy because of the domination bonuses. As soon as everyone got their 4-piece the raid became a joke. The only hard bosses were Sylvanas and Painsmith. People were so bored of that raid tier.Sepulcher was harder on raid teams because you HAD to grind out the entire raids 4-piece bonus from normal/heroic for weeks until you could even do Mythic. This raid tier was also absolutely brutal on alliance. Were 4 months in and only 53 alliance guilds have killed jailer and 5 of them are from NA.They're nerfing the bosses because they want to close our this tier in 2-3 months to launch season 4.
