Getting tiresome hearing their endless preaching of "player agency" over loot while not letting people trade loot unless they meet a bunch of arbitrary criteria, nor letting the raid choose a loot system.Nothing puts a downer on killing Mythic Azshara like getting crazy good fonts that are STILL BIS on some classes even on Mythic N'zoth progression landing on a DH and monk tank who will literally never use them. Such agency.By all means protect pugs from ML abuse, but guilds should be able to sort out their own affairs. Give them agency, or stop throwing the phrase around while restricting it.
They need to put back in need or greed loot boxes! now that was fun!
...Give guilds masterloot back ffs, the legion version was good.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'd love to be wrong about this.Am I reading this right? Drop rates will be EVEN LOWER in M+? One piece of gear for the WHOLE GROUP? I don't like M+, but I like it even less when we go through a stressful 40 minute gauntlet and I get nothing for my time there other than AP and a headache. Is THIS what you think is going to make "loot feel better"? How exactly is it going to be satisfying for 80% of people that get jack #$%^ for that much time and effort? Why would I ever feel motivated to play it? Certainly not for your toxic time trial leaderboards that everyone bases their opinions of other players on. Shadowlands is shaping up to be nothing a pretty face with no personality, and systems that complicate real problems in the game rather than address them.
Lol they can't possibly mean "1 item per dungeon, down from 3", they have to mean "1 item PER player per dungeon". That'd be the most $%^&ed up random change to make if they follow through with that.
I really wish Master Loot / Group Loot would make a return, they could easily add an option in the group finder which says if a group/pre-made raid is personal or master loot, and they could add some controls on it so that say, once you have people inside the instance you can't change the loot type (to prevent abuse from a raid leader who lists a group as Personal Loot, and sneakily tries to change it to master loot). I think Master Loot should be a guilds/groups choice, just as having the option for personal loot should also be a choice. Some guilds will always run raids as personal, and some more high tier guilds would probably prefer master loot. At the end of the day blizzard should give the final decision to the players, do they want to be in a guild which operates master loot? Or do they want to be in a guild which is relaxed and runs personal loot... I think removing the option or decision making process from the individual actually harms player agency. There could easily be a little "loot" icon which indicates master/personal in the group finder, maybe even a "filter by" button to hide master loot groups etc. I think there are some creative solutions blizzard could explore to please both crowds, the pro-master looters and the pro-personal looters.
I am completely fine with the nerf to M+ loot. Should be harder to get raid quality loot from endlessly repeatable dungeons.
Sounds like its going to put more of an incentive to do the max lvl key for the weekly chest and stop. For me, having a lower chance for anything is a de-incentive to do that activity.
A little sad to see them doubling down on Personal Loot, but if it means we won't have to deal with warforged/titanforged or worse, corrupted gear next expac it's a worthy trade.
BFA experience:Weekly chest - waist, waist, waist, ring, waist, waist5mask Vision - hands, hands, hands, waist, handshonestly playing in 7 weeks I seen only 3 items different from waist and hands. Stuck with 455-460 items on almost every slot of my gear for close to two months. If this was not dealt with in next expansion I would not even bother anymore.
Honestly their reasoning for the removal of Master Loot is pathetic. So a few people were abusing the system, you don't chop off your entire leg when you scratch your toe.
Master loot was removed for a reason, just too abuseable. You should always be entitled to your own loot, that noone can take it from you. If master loot or higher tradability, then guilds WILL force newbies to give up loot for the established raiders in the guild.
I'm on board with most of what Ion says, usually am.>.>
yo is this 1 item per person per dungeon, or just 1 item between 5 players? cuz that's a big heck
Saying "just like classic" isn't a compelling argument. Because Classic was anything BUT perfect. It had many many flaws. Especially in the loot department. The huge concern is if they force people into dungeons ... watch how fast dungeons get toxic, ESPECIALLY if the drop rate is worse than it is on live. People will be even more reluctant to do random dungeons outside of for the Callings (aka Emissary) because of the issue of "reduced loot chance" and "only viable source of gear".That's the danger of reducing the amount of loot dropping, is people will become less and less nice, and more and more likely to KICK because they think that another player will 'reduce' their chances of getting loot. And if the final boss of a dungeon for example has a static number of drops, that mindset could very much become a reality. Not saying its real, but the perception, and how people reaction to the mindset is what matters. So, less loot has potential to cause more problems than it solves.
Less loot overall. All I'm hearing is impossible to gear alts again because I need to run at least 5 dungeons to even have a good chance at getting 1 piece of gear, which likely wont be an upgrade./slowclap
at the higher levels of content guilds should have free agency of where to allocate loot. Im fine not having master loot in pugs/normal/HC and whatever, but mythic raid before halls of fame close should have the option for it. There is nothing worst that to see an overwhelmingly powerful piece of loot fall into the hands of an underperforming/underdeserving player. Part of the magic that made wow special in the early days was just that. To have those old legendaries and cool gear, you needed a guild behind you willing to GIVE TO YOU the strongest items in the game. It was a sign that you were truly an exceptional player, and others would ammire and respect you for that. This has now changed into "kill X boss every week, pray to the gods you get the loot you need instead of someone else". I might be the best player in my guild, however other people will get rewarded instead because RNG is fun. This is the current system, in essence.
