Player: You seem to have embraced the Horde.

Lilian Voss: It seems my skills drew the attention of the powers that be. My services were... "requested."
Did you catch the hidden meaning there? Sorry. Despite my profession, I'm not the best at subtlety.
Regardless, I know how to recognize an opportunity when I see one.

Player: What sort of opportunity?

Lilian Voss: It doesn't take a prophet to see that Sylvanas will use this war as a means of bringing more Forsaken into the world.
My own conversation was... difficult. I had a lot to work through. Many scores to settle.
I haven't let go of all that. But I also feel an obligation to help the newly risen adapt to their situation. Perhaps I can spare them the sort of pain I endured.

Player: And what of the Alliance?

Lilian Voss: In life, I was raised to hate the undead. Trained to destroy them.
When I became Forsaken, I hated myself most of all.
But now I see it is the Alliance that fosters this malice. The human kingdoms shun their former brothers and sisters because we remind them what's lurking beneath the facade of flesh.
It's time to end their cycle of hatred. The Alliance deserves to fall.

Goblin Sapper: Do ya see the Kul Tirans yet?
Fogsail Pirate: Yes! That's the flagsh-- wait, nope... that's just a spot on the glass

Chief Telemancer Oculeth: Anar-ammenos, <player>. I'll have this portal Nathanos requested for you set up in a few moments.

Lilian Voss: Come in, <player>. Nathanos will catch you up to speed.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Our mission here is to retrieve the Abyssal Scepter, located deep inside the Stormsong Monastery in Boralus.

Thomas Zelling: The Scepter is an artifact of immense power over the sea. We will be able to use it to gain quite the advantage over the Kul Tiran fleet.

Captain Amalia Stone: How are you going to sneak in? You cannot exactly just waltz into Boralus...

Nathanos Blightcaller: I sent Valentine into Boralus to get a message to Lady Proudmoore, at any cost: We have your son.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Any time now, Proudmoore's elite forces should arrive here in an attempt to retrieve Derek's body.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Once the strongest of the guard has been drawn out, our friend Oculeth will open a portal for <player> and Zelling to go through and retrieve the scepter.

Captain Owings: Nathanos, I told you your Horde could make base in my harbor. I did not give you permission to lead the Proudmoore fleet to my very door.

Nathanos Blightcaller: We will pay you plenty for your trouble.

Captain Owings: Hmph.

The Siren's Daughter, The Valorous RosePortal into Boralus

Nathanos Blightcaller: Zelling, acommpany <player> to Boralus, Oculeth awaits with a portal.

Thomas Zelling: As you wish, Nathanos.

Lilian Voss: Remember, you will arrive deep in Boralus. Be on high alert.

Chief Telemancer Oculeth: Calculating the correct location to place this portal in Boralus was not easy, but it was a welcome challenge! Do tell me how it goes, will you?

<Player and Zelling takes portal>

Thomas Zelling: Be on your toes, <player>. This is no ordinary basement -- we are quite deep in Boralus.

Talking with Zelling

Player: How has your transition been, Zelling?

Thomas Zelling: I'm not sure if... I still haven't...
This isn't easy, <player>.
Miss Voss advised me to focus on the task at hand. She says proving my worth to the Blightcaller is the best way to keep my family safe.
My family...

Player: They are still in your thoughts.

Thomas Zelling: They are EVERYTHING to me!
I... I realize they don't want me in their lives anymore. But that change!
Once they realize it's me, that I still love them, I know they will... they will...
I... I...

Player: Focus, Brother Zelling!

Thomas Zelling: Yes, focus. Task at hand. Please the Blightcaller. Keep them safe.

Thomas Zelling: We have successfully retrieved the Abyssal Scepter, Nathanos.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Ah, good. Not only will this be a boon for the Zandalari armada... but also a detriment to that of the Kul Tirans.

Captain Amalia Stone: Lady Proudmoore's forces are relentless, Nathanos. We should get out of here as soon as possible.

Lilian Voss: I fear it is slightly too late for that, Amalia. We have a new visitor.

Lilian Voss: I am getting restless. Allow me to provide my aid from the shadows.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Let us see who Proudmoore has sent now.

<Nathanos and player walk outside>

General Cadarin yells: Show us your face, Horde scum! We have a friend of yours.

<General Cadarin is choking Forsaken Marshal M. Valentine>

General Cadarin: Return Derek Proudmoore to my hands, and you shall have your man back.

Nathanos Blightcaller: Ah, my good man. That is a tactic that I could see working on somebody other than myself...

Nathanos Blightcaller: But frankly, you can do what you want with Valentine. He means nothing to us.

General Cadarin: So be it, corpse. I will recover Derek's body over your dead one.

<General Cadarin kills Marshal M. Valentine>

Nathanos Blightcaller: Take care of this nuisance, <player>.

He is self-serving in the way that serving himself helps the Horde. And this is war, it's a very "us or them"-mentality seen on both sides. It sounds like you don't like him, just because he's Forsaken

I mean like taking down important targets(even if Dreven looked to be a future problem for the Horde, he was a current problem for the Alliance). They also got a lot of diplomats, who likely knows many secrets. They also placed their deathbombs under the Zandalari ships to be triggered when they see it most useful. The Horde might rely on those ships one day and then it will hurt them even more.

If you've heard it before but ignore it for your head-canon, i can't help you....

Being in the proximity to great events won't magically grant you the title of Commander of all your factions forces. As a member of your faction, you serve that faction. Most of the Horde trusts Sylvanas and Nathanos, most characters(especially the almost neutral horde ones) seem to have gotten much more patriotic in BfA. Apart from Saurfang, the Horde seems much more integrated with all races represented much more than previously when it was almost only orccs

Fixed it for you. Actually not even that because he proves het again that the Forsaken are mere expendable tools for Sylvanas also.
And I don't like him because he is arrogant and cndescending when he has no right to be, only got his position in life and death due to being Sylvanas' favoured boytoy and is a servant of pure evil. Goodness. Completing objectives against hostile targets. This is unheard of in a war. The only one spewing headcanon here is you. It has already been explained to you by others how Sylvanas' actions would've hurt the Horde more than anyone else.
Moreover the fact is what Genn did did not start a war and is not referenced anywhere as a motive for anything Sylvanas does other than a single line in BfS where she's resentful of it, but is entirely unrelated to her plan to raze Stormwind.Which is why Garrosh is still Warchief. Oh wait,
So you're just going to brush aside Saurfang, the moral heart of the Horde. How convenient for you.
And yes, all Horde races are sadly represented in mindlessly serving Sylvanas' Scourge-like agenda to murder the Alliance for no reason other than she can. Sylvanas is insane and evil. Genn knows this, that's why he acted.
BfS confirms this. She doesn't care about Azeroth, the Horde or the Forsaken, only about herself and building her own power. Sylvanas is a monster from beginning to end.

Makorus kinda has a point, enslaving Eyir (who may well be a benevolent figure but still served Odyn, the most a**hole Titan Keeper apart from Loken) was, in more ways than one, a cruel act. But there is nothing out there to prove that having Eyir enslaved would mean a catastrophic event for the Alliance and the Horde. At face value, it would just mean Sylvanas gets a bunch of free Val'kyrs.

Genn was right in the sense of "I can save a noble soul from slavery". Apart from that, it was an act of spite towards the current leader of your main ally in the war against the Burning Legion, and then of course diplomacy is no longer an option when you deny your ally what they desire the most. And I'm not saying it wasn't a good decision narratively. It's great they went this way, gave the Grey Wolf some form of closure.thatI mean, Sylvanas had no traits of insane evil psychology in Legion (or even before for that matter, it always was practical), she was only shown having a personal mission that would lead her to have a supply of Val'kyrs. Granted it was more for personal use (postponing her descent into litteral Warcraft-Hell), but it still could've served the Horde a great deal, by being able to raise new forsaken as well. Having her turn moustache-twirling evil now doesn't make every questionable decision she made before the same kind of evil.

Here's the issue. Let's leave BfA out of it even though it completely proves my point.
What happened the last time Sylvanas got a bunch of free Val'kyrs? That's right, she rampaged around Hillsbrad, Gilneas and Andorhal converting humans to Forsaken and forcing them to fight their comrades and friends. Blizzard can twist this into "it was a frenzy due to recently being undead!" all they like, but the fact remains Sylvanas exploited that frenzy.

Setting aside that, it's also treason against the Horde because enslaving Eyir jeapordises the search for the Aegis and the coming alliance with Odyn and the Valarjar. Sylvanas' actions risked the entire war effort. One would think that at least she would actually be pragmatic and wait until the Legion was defeated before making her move on Eyir. Or at the very least wait until the Aegis was secured.
