Old God vibes.
Hmmm not sure if it was a good idea to spoil the Story on the PTR allready by Blizzard...Takes away from the, even if it be small, mystery what's next.
Ebyssian's new model in that first image is wild.
Tentacles... add the fish and stuff... I wonder which old god it is... I got a feeling. Yoggi... yep we need more Yoggi in our lives. He will flip and break the Bronze Aspect any moment now.
You know, despite the use of whispers, I really don't think the Old Gods are specifically, directly behind them. Why? Well the fact that they seem to be affecting Wrathion as much as they are affecting Sabellian, as well as Ebyssian. All three should have different levels of resistance against Old God whispers- with Wrathion being strongest against them, Ebyssian weaker, and Sabellian arguably not having any resistance at all. But all three are affected and the effect is lessened in visage form- thus I believe what they're hearing is the Echo of Neltharion from the new raid, who can connect easier when they're dragons as opposed to their visages. It also explains why Wrathion seemingly handles it worse- it's a different kind of mental thing than the Old God whispers, and as a very young dragon he hasn't matured enough to resist that type while Ebyssian and Sabellian are more mature/experienced. Now could the Echo of Neltharion be influenced and thus directed by his progenitor's connection to the Old Gods? Sure, but there's no 'Void magic' in these whispers- just 'Black dragon magic'.
Maybe Ebyssian should be the new black dragon aspect.
Captain Exposition has arrived.
Sabellian: We are the Black Dragonflight! That means something! Neltharion would never have fallen to such a foeDoes Sabellian need to be told how his own flight was corrupted by N'zoth? Apparently he doesn't know that 🤨
Getting some serious Blackwing Lair and Blackwing Descent vibes here, not old gold ones.
I find the exchange between Alexstrasza and the three black dragons interesting. Ebyssian doesn't seem like he's taking enjoyment or any particular stance. It's just a job that needs to be done with a modicum of respect given toward Alexstrasza. While Sabellian and Wrathion's word choice seems telling given their character type. Sabellian uses the word destruction, which might be foretelling if he were to lead the Black dragon flight and given his past. Then there is Wrathion, who says "Whatever it takes." Obviously, he's done whatever it takes in the past. I think this shows how each would be a different type of leader. Ebyssian is calm and collected and fits the aspect type when compared to the other aspects. The other two like Sabellian a more scorched earth and heavy-handed type of leader, while Wration is a "The end justifies the means" type.
