So switching Covenants is going to stay hard because Covenants are a commitment. I have a feeling people won't like that... I can already see the hate spam...
They're REALLY going hard on the Covenant thing. It's going to turn out to be one of the more hated features in Shadowlands, most likely, especially with them adding Covenant specific Legendaries and being absolutely trash at balancing the Covenant Abilities, Soul Binds and the like.
There's also still a big hole in PvE gearing that Titan Residuum used to fill...

I had no idea Ion speaks Chinese, i wonder how many more languages he knows, he was in a french interview and wasn't speaking franch so there is one he dont know
"but they don't want balance to be so one sided that players to feel like they only have one choice."Yet Convoke is still so brokenly OP that every Druid is Night Fae. Just nerf Convoke already.
Nothing really interesting and new, the only thing that will make us cry all day is "The current system where you can switch relatively straightforwardly, but if you want to go back and forth, there is a questline and cooldown between them - that's likely to remain.". I think is one of the top changes players were waiting for the next big patch.
People are just too obsessed with being like mike that they forget to have fun. You want to min max then do it , if you don’t then do that . You can max all covs and do what you want , that just takes time and effort. Ran several keys with all sorts of variance of classes and cov choices by people with no issues today . Have fun man and just be cool . All in all the patch will br great. Solid interview and let’s just wait and see what they do next man .
Just when you start to think that maybe blizzard gets what the issue is, Ion comes out with his statements that shows he has literally no idea what he's doing. "we've definitely heard that feedback and we know that while there's some randomness to it, we want to make sure that it feels like a satisfying reward" is what Ion says. Some randomness? i am full 233 gear on my main character, and still looking for my 226 Vial of Putrefaction since day one. At this point, i've done 10 dungeons every week for pretty much 5 months for a total of well over 200 keys played, so go on, tell me about "some randomness" in your system. I don't get how someone who cannot understand the basic concept of a structured endgame progression can even be game director. In his mind, RNG is the best thing ever and we are all gambling addicts and should therefore love it. Get rewarded for your efforts? nah, lets make a fully RNG trinket from a dungeon better than the 233 trinket from the last boss, and then laugh at people trying to minmax their characters. Also regarding the anima increase, it's not tied to player power, so all they're doing by increasing the amount of anima is telling the people who farmed their asses off already that they are basically idiots who wasted they're time playing the game. good job.
Should let us "complete" a covenant then move on to another until we eventually have all of them and can freely switch. It would quintuple the amount of covenant content available. Makes a lot of sense with the coming patch theme.
