However I bet there is no retroactive check for the already collected appearances aka you already crafted it.Comment by Salindrisif they had designed and made transmog system itself better to begin with from the start, we wouldnt even need these workarounds. In a perfect world, all transmog would be learnable on any toon. as soon as it drops. I have always thought transmog system would work that way, and when it was announced years ago i was hyped, but then learned that they broke it down by armor type etc and its been frustrating ever since.

We have had lots of minor improvements over the years. But i still think if they had just found a way to do like Diablo 3 did thier transmog where as soon as you see/find/loot an item it automatically adds to your collection. or even use tokens or some way of redeeming apperances if wanted.

My main problem with transmog is rng and drops and wasting time farming them. Sure i do like farming transmog, its always a gamble. But if they had said from the start hey you get your transmog right away, instead of farming weeks..months..years for certain pieces because rng screws you over every week. Add to that, you can get rings, trinkets and non-transmog items and double drops of ones dont need. Dont let me get started on the old tier tokens.

So yes this is a win, the tier 3 from naxx is a win etc but I still will forever be grumpy about how they made the system far to rng and complicated than it has to be. And yes i do get that some stuff should be rare, or sought after. its part of the rpg experience, prestige etc. But we are talking about cosmetics, and old cosmetics, old models at that.

what truly is the gameplay gained from slogging through old dungeons in hopes to get a single piece you need to drop, switch to your next alt and every single drop is for the toon you just logged off. Some of these are unearnable.

Like, the Holo-Gogs selection currently requires you craft all 34 of the original goggles. No one is going to have all of those recipes. Some of these recipes are extremely rare (Sunwell trash drops), they cost over 50k on the AH and the prices will surely go up. The materials alone will cost a fortune (Khorium is crazy expensive)... Had 8 goggle schematics unlearned, all but one from SWP. Is it me or did they stealth remove the class requirement to learn them? I noticed this was not how I remember it, as I farmed literally every single thing in SWP on my main (per ATT). I might be misremembering.

The one that isn't from SWP is from specific mobs in SMV, which dropped on my 4th kill. I farmed SWP until I only had 3 schematics to go, then shuffled gold/schematics with the help of my spouse to get the ones I did not have and were not listed on my server, to the server that had them. I'd been getting dupes so it was a better use of my time to be able to get on with gathering.

I put together a spreadsheet of all the mats needed, and listed out any intermediate parts to complete them. Took me around an hour, and I sent all the mats I already had to an alt, and will send the rest as I acquire them to the same alt, then send them to my engineer to get them all made.

Reminds me of when I swapped my main from skinner/miner to engineering/tailoring and gathered all the mats I'd need to power level them in one go! I love having a gathering goal, it's really chill. I don't raid or do instances anymore, so I have the time to spend.

Either they forgot to mention that you still need to have engineering as a profession to be able to wear the mogs, or they forgot to add it when the patch dropped.
My guess would be the first, since I just crafted all the pandaria versions and still get message "Need classic engineering skill 1 to be able to wear this outfit" when trying to mog the goggles on shaman who does not have engineering.
