I just activated sms on top of my Physcial one, and still is not working, it keeps giving me the goto page blah blah BS, and still no 4 slots
This is like blizzard #$%^ting on the ground and saying "Look its yummy free food" some blizztards will still be dip%^&*s and be like "omg how can you complain its free and it doesn't taste bad" while their faces are full of &*!@.Yes four slots are "better than nothing" but if they upgraded the bag to a 30 slot, or replaced it with a bag slot.. added more bag SLOTS but no, you'll get a minor improvement and if you complain the fanboys will attack you for pointing out how little it really is.Its a shame.
Why not? :x 4+ bag slots wew <3 Permanent usefulness.
Im really happy about this, but doesn't this mean the entirety of Azeroth is going to collapse into a giant black hole or something? We've heard for years that the backpack can never be altered because it's tied like a ley line nexus into the very fabric of everything that holds the game together. :)
NEW is 7.3.5 you get 4 extra slot if you attach.. but if you don't we reduce it to the penny pouch
I rather have an extra bag slot... lol
I was thinking about this lame bag thing and had an idea. What if, so long as you had an authenticator on your account, the main backpack was an heirloom with slots equal to the average (rounded down) of every other bag in your inventory (not in your bank) +10.Starting characters would have 10 slots. After a trip into the first starting town, the main backpack would have even more room. For current max levels, the backpack would have 40 slots. This gives players an incentive to have an authenticator (beyond obvious reasons)...and it fills the pockets of tailors on the server too. A win-win.
I'd prefer if they just let us replace the backpack with another bag, like any other bag slot. In a world with 30 slot bags, a 20 slotter is almost as useless as a 16 slotter.
@arduousfrivolity : I'm having the same issue. Even tried logging directly into the ptr without going through the launcher (so I had to type the auth code). It's not working for me either.
As if people need a reason to use 2FA. Besides, the Blizzard one is dead easy to use and rarely, if ever, do you need to actually type in the code it gives you. Just hit "Approve" on the notification and that's it on the 5 occasions a year that you have to use it.
another blizzard joke...4 slots wow ..... Just let us change that backpack cmmon how hard can be....
As programmer, I think it's weird that they only give 4 slots. I would have expected them to give at least 20. This feels like a bit of a meaningless gift. As someone who makes most gold as tailor making bags, I don't think it would impact the bag market a lot. People will still want to min/max it, and if the tailoring market would have been the issue, Blizzard could have made the backpack slot an actual bag (so you'd have to buy a bag to use it) with a default 16/20 slot bag (like the DH/DK starting bags). As a hoarder.. I have a tip for Blizzard; ask for real money (a dollar/euro a month?) to increase the size of bank or void storage. I play a lot of alts, and hoard most of the trinkets and set pieces with special bonuses or meaning. Having hexweave bags everywhere and having void storage still doesn't give me enough space. #FirstWorldProblems
When I first read the title, I thought "wow they're giving us room for 4 more bags...cool beans" just to find out it is just 4 bag spaces in the default bag. Playing Devil's advocate here, why not max the bag space out to the current largest bag? I would think you'd have more folks getting an authenticator then.Just my 2 copper
TBF, I NEVER need to use my phone with the auth, since I'm using the launcher. It's only once in a blue moon that it needs me to input anything. And besides, it's a 1-touch popup on the activity feed when it DOES send an auth request.
Oh boy can't wait for those 4 extra bags to go with my 4Hexweave Bags
I really hope this is a "preview" so that when BfA comes out they can put more slots on the basis of 8.0 will be a greater code change and can increase it more.
I have been using the Authenticator for years so an extra 4 slots on the backpack is a nice little something for nothing. I am surprised the amount of people who say that they don’t use the Authenticator. If you lose your account to theft I bet you will wish you did!
Use Authenticator for 4 extra backpack slots? Awesome! But why SMS protection too? It doesn't work for me cuz I have number from different country than my account is registered to. Now I have to send them my ID to change country so I can activate SMS protection that I don't need or want. I mean another layer of protection is nice but not necessary when I have auth. :/
