Since the meat in these crates isn't bind on pickup, it's a good idea to do the cooking daily on all your eligible alts and send all the meat from these crates to your main (at least pre-Cata when the meat isn't available any other way).

Just tried it now on live, and it has been fixed. You can no longer return the crates to get your tokens back after looting the meat only

It seems like these are a real gamble. Probably not worth spending Chef's Awards on them until you have all the patterns you want first.

New cooking daily can be done by low level characters (alts). If you're not planning on cooking with a character, use them to buy these to stockpile meat.

Hi, Does anybody know if the Delicious Cake recipe drops out of this crate? Ive been farming the Shatt and Dala dailies for months and I still havent got it. Its the last thing I need for my Chef title -_-

Maybe what I think Tasty Meat tasted like actually tasted like oatmeal, or tuna fish. That makes you wonder about a lot of things. You take chicken, for example: maybe they couldn't figure out what to make chicken taste like, which is why chicken tastes like everything.

It's just a crate containing meat used in Cataclysm recipes. For any 85 toon, it's a total waste of Chef's Awards, given the ease of farming the specific meat you actually want to cook.

Apparently it was somewhat useful during the pre-Cata 4.0 phase when there was no other source of meats, but now it is only relevant for those who still haven't upgraded to Cataclysm.

A fix with the patch today (1/4), there is now no longer a cap. It will show in your currency tab as a max of 10, but won't be updated until a client-side patch can be applied. Per patch notes released 1/3 here.

By the time I hit 450 cooking (and, therefore, could use cooking awards), my inventory actually showed all 27 awards I had earned. So yes, they have removed the cap, but it also seems they have fixed it so that all awards are shown as well.

Does anyone know the amount of "product" you receive from the crate? I had some tokens to blow and picked up a crate. Inside I found 2 turtle tongues... And nothing else. Is it always that low? I'm lvl 85 with maxed cooking, and can easily farm what I need, but I thought it was odd there was such a meager amount for the actual token cost.

/curious.

Does anyone else notice that these give more items than before patch 4.0.6? I'm asking this because I got 3 Snake Eyes and 2 Blood Shrimps when I opened a crate today.

These crates are also handy once you've picked up all the recipes and want to get the Cata cooking achievement without running all over to pick up fish. Plus an easy daily quest completion and guild exp for a few minutes logged in.

This is worth spamming once you're 525 with no recipes left to get. My Rogue for instance can already make his AGI food+the 90pt feast. There's nothing else of value. So I just buy crates then toss the meat into my guild's vault for other people's skill building. That's pretty much the point. Toughened Flesh+Croc tails+Blood Shrimp are all in this and those are the main skill builders. These crates are meant to skill up your next toons or get thrown to other newbs. You could stack all your recipes on 1 guy and have him make the food for other alts, but they all need the skill anyway if you want feasts.

Toughened Flesh is also used in the ~~max-level~~ Engineering feast Goblin Barbecue

While it would make more sense to call him Epoch as it is actual spelling of the word, it is, in fact, Apoc. Watch the credits of the movie if you don't believe me...err, us.

It seems as though you get 2 different food items and a grey item. Note: Even though I say you get 2 food items, I don't mean a stack of one. Ranges from a stack of 2 to 10.

After opening 100 Crate of Tasty Meat, I received the following:

As well as trash items totaling 4g 86s 17c when vendored.

Did they change these crates? On 10/05/2020, in the Shadowlands pre-patch, I just bought and used five crates, and what I got was low level meat that you might find in Durotar. Specifically, I got:
4 strider meat, 2 crawler claw, 5 chunk of boar meat, 2 crocolisk meat, 3 bear meat, 3 boar ribs, 3 clam meat, 5 thunder lizard tail. I don't see anything about any changes, but this is definitely not the cata-era meat it should be.

My level 20 opened 32 of these with max vanilla cooking and 15 cata cooking, I got 1g 56s 92c worth of grey items and all vanilla cooking mats.
