In Mists of Pandaria all other rods will be removed. Every recipe will use Runed Copper Rod which is made from this item.

I was going through my bags and saw the runed copper rod (which had become obsolete somewhere around 75 in the enchanting level) I wondered how in hell such an old piece wound up in my bags and I got rid of it (knowing that I had the elementium or some other runed rod which was required to do most enchanting).

When I attemped to combine some Spirit Dust into Mysterious Essence, I was shocked to see that it required a Runed Copper Rod.

I then came here and found that I should have been reading the expansion change notes better.

a copper rod is rod in minimalise accept as cupric rod it is also an great wand
