Sunfury Signet: 250 rep per 10

Best place to farm in my experience is Eclipse Point in Shadowmoon Valley. A key to gaining rep fast is to sell the greens and blues you get for gold which in turn can be used to buy Sunfury Signets.

Netherstorm is also good for farming, albeit crowded.

A third way to gain rep fast is to farm Motes of Water in Skettis off the water elementals. In my case on my server, it is faster to sell the motes of water (10 for 20g) and buy Sunfury Signets (10 for 7-8g) than it is to farm the Sunfury Signets and Arcane Tomes directly.

Demon Hunter Supplicants have the highest drop rate for these at 44%, but they don't drop a whole lot of anything else though so no cash to buy some off the AH. Edit: WoWhead apparently records this value wrong...

It takes exactly 480 signets to go from Honored to Revered and 840 signets to go from Revered to Exalted, bringing that to a grand total of 1320 signets, good luck farming!

I was farming with my kara+ geared hunter and I got exaclty 1 tome and 60 signets in 1 hour, so that's maybe an indication for you about the time it takes to farm to exalted

You can also grind firewing signets and sell them on the AH, then buy sunfury signets for the same price (or less if you're lucky) and turn them in for rep. Firewing signets are a lot quicker to grind at lvl70 than sunfury signets (and you'll get plenty of netherweave, greens and an occassional arcane tome)

With the introduction of Shattered Sun Offensive and it's related dungeons/quests, the value of Sunfury Signets (and Arcane Tomes) dropped like a brick. It's almost useless to trade them for Aldor equivalent, unless you are giving at least 3 or 4 signets/tomes for one Aldor mark/armament.

WTB new "Aldor zone" with dungeon and raid. -.-

I actually got most of mine from Eclipse Point after reading this thread - but found eventually (whilst trying to break the monotony of the task) that the drop rate seemed much better at Manaforge B'naar (Netherstorm).

The mobs also go down a lot easier, drop some good greens and occasional blue - Arcane Tomes seem to drop better here too.

Only wish I'd tried farming this area earlier.

Anyway, give this area a try for half an hour, see how it compares to your findings in Eclipse. If anything, I've found it a less boring area to farm.

Ok I'm a 69 DK and im sided with the scryers...I have 30+ signets and i cant turn them in. I've done the Arcane Tome quest and still nothing...any comments?

It's much more efficient to farm instances if you're a tank class and also an enchanter at 80.

1. Droprate is higher.
2. DE greens/blues and sell the mats.
3. Use the gold to buy more Signets.
4. No competition (at WotLK hardly a concern anyway)
5. Spare change from mobs are greater, 20s-80s = More signets from AH.
6. Arcane Tomes drop VERY frequently. (2-3 per instance reset on average)

Go to Botanica, farm to Satyr area, get out and reset.

Fun macro I made:

/run sig_c=GetItemCount(30810); tome_c=0+GetItemCount(29739); sig_r=sig_c*25; tome_r=tome_c*350;print("Scryers Rep:", sig_r+tome_r);

This will count the amount of tomes and signets you have, multiply the rep value for each (25 per signet, 350 per tome) and then add the two values.

In other words, it counts the amount of signets and tomes you have and tells you how much rep they are worth =D

The Mechanar seems to be the best place to farm these in my experience. Nice quick dungeon that you can blitz through at 85, plenty of blood elf mobs that drop Signets/Tomes, and an exit right next to the final boss so you can go out, reset and go straight back in again. Plus you'll probably end up with two or three stacks of Netherweave and a bunch of assorted greens each run, and it's right next to the Cosmowrench flight point.

I soloed both The Mechanar and Botanica on my decently geared BM hunter. Here's what I got:
The Mechanar took 24 minutes and yielded

22 sunfury signets
16 marks of sargeras
1 fel armament

You start getting signets only after the first boss, so you basically need to do the entire instance to get the signets.

The Botanica took 30 minutes and yielded

35 sunfury signets
4 arcane tomes

You start getting signets immediately and until the Thorngrin boss you already have nearly all the signets you're going to get if you finish the instance. If you intend to farm these, just turn back as soon as you see the room full of satyr, run out, reset and repeat. That should save you some 10 minutes per run and maximize number of signets per minute.

So clearly, Botanica is superior, at least as far as farming signets/tomes goes.

Best place for me to farm these (and Arcane Tomes) is Shadowmoon Valley at 51.7 63.2 west of Sanctum of the Stars. Many humanoids, fast respawn, need about 15 minutes for a whole run at the edge and gives about 50 signets and 2-3 tomes.

If you're level 85 and looking to grind Scryer reputation then The Path of Conquest in Shadowmoon Valley has large clusters of blood elves that are perfect for farming Arcane Tomes, Sunfury Signets and Netherweave Cloth. There's probably 120~ mobs within the area all located close together for easy grinding.

I find that the Mechanar gives approximately 25 signets each run so if you run both regular and heroic that's 50. Plus you will get rep with sha'tar if you still need it.

If anyone needs more of these, I decided to check on the AH to see if others are selling them, because I have no use for them, and yes, there are some for sale, so i put mine up there too. So, if you need 3 or 5 more, you can most likely find them on the ah.

I just finished farming the Blood Elves around Manaforge B'naar in Netherstorm for about an hour. I was able to run around shooting everything in sight, and by the time I made it back around the forge, all of the Blood Elves had respawned. During the hour, I didn't see another player at all.

After 1 hour:

Sunfury Signet - 94
Arcane Tome - 7
Netherweave Cloth - 191

Gold - approx 75g from looting/selling junk

This is by far much more than I have ever picked up from running the Tempest Keep dungeons. I also didn't have to worry about killing worthless mobs (demons, Satyrs, plants etc) over and over again, or resetting a dungeon.

Please do NOT waste your time at the Manaforges, inside Heroics, or anywhere a lot of the older comments suggest to farm these. The best place to farm them currently is the Path of Conquest, in Shadowmoon Valley, just to the west of of the Sanctum of the Stars. The mobs are clustered together in large groups allowing large pulls + AoE, as well as there being the Sanctum of the Stars right there to vendor/mail off mats and greens. I farmed out my Scryer rep from 0/21000 Revered to Exalted in a couple of hours mass-murdering these mobs. Enjoy these mobs, and be glad they aren't elite! <3

Level 90 DK, incapable of turning in any signets to any listed quest vendor here. All have talk bubbles but no quest. Currently Friendly rep from being able to turn in Arcane Tomes, but cannot find any signet turn-in NPC. Any ideas?

Path of Conquest is a quick way to farm Sunfury Signets, no need to waste time resetting a dungeon. In one hour I farmed 200 Sunfury Signets and 14 Arcane Tomes. There are typically groups of two/three NPCs on either side of the path and the occasional pather. As a level 90 Elemental Shaman cast one Chain lightning and group down. Most are close enough together can kill several groups and mass loot. Finish Path of Conquest in about 5-10 minutes and beginning NPCs have already respawned. There is literally no down time other than needing to sell. Happy Hunting!

While I was running the Mechanar on normal difficulty to earn exalted with all the faction reputations (was wearing each tabard) I ended up obtaining around 600 signets and 60 arcane tomes all together. It got me to exalted with the Scryers and I had a few on the side to sell. There was also around 400 marks of sargeras dropped with around 20 fel armaments dropping too. Just an idea if you're looking to boost multiple reps up.

Also doing this earned me exalted with the Sha'tar faction as well.

Fastest Scryers Reputation Grind 2020 Edition:

Having experimented with various ways to grind Scryers rep, as of patch 9.0.2 (2020) the fastest method by far is grinding mobs in THE BOTANICA (for reference, I tried the Mechanaar and Arcatraz too, finding them to be slower). There are two possible strategies depending on how much time you want to spend per session and how much rep you need:

TL/DR:
Option 1 - Approx. 8000 rep in 25 minutes. Due to instance lockout, this nets ~8000 rep/hour.
Option 2 - Approx. 6000 rep in 25 minutes. No instance lockout means this nets ~13250 rep/hour.

Option 1 (fastest burst, not sustainable):
- Pull all mobs up to the first boss (Commander Sarannis)
- 1 shot aoe, collect signets and arcane tomes
- Run back to entrance, reset instance, repeat

As a paladin, I am able to complete 1 run in 2.5 minutes, netting 14-22 signets and 0-2 arcane tomes. This works out to approximately 800 reputation per run. After 10 runs (25 mins) I cashed in my signets/tomes for 8000 rep, taking me most of the way to revered from honored. Many classes will be able to do this faster than a paladin. NOTE: Instance lockouts restrict you from doing more than 10 runs per hour!

Option 2 (fastest long term, sustainable):
- Pull all mobs up to first boss, kill, loot
- Repeat up to third boss (Thorngrin the Tender)
- Run back to entrance, reset instance, repeat

For sustained farming, one should aim for a 6 minute run to avoid the instance lockout. The above route takes me ~5 minutes, netting 24-26 signets and 1-3 arcane tomes, for an average of 1325 rep per run. Spend another minute or so cleaning junk from your bags or sorting those BOEs and you will be able to farm indefinitely. This faster than Option 1 if you do 12+ runs/hour, slower if you do less than 12 per hour (if you are mining or queueing for battlegrounds in between, for example). NOTE: Stop at the platform in front of each boss to kill the mobs you have pulled up to that point. They sometimes despawn if pulled farther. Pulling past boss 3 to get to 6 minutes is not worth it as the plants after him don't drop signets/tomes.

Need 39,000 reputation to go from friendly to exalted. Option 2 will get you there in just under 3 hours.

Here's an updated turnin macro based on royalite and reilyn's comments. In addition to being updated with the new API command, there's another turnin quest available to me, so this one uses options 2 and 3. It will select the second option if you have 10 or more Sunfury Signets, the third if you have fewer than 10. If your dialog is different, you can change the "2 or 3" to whichever numbers match your available turnin options.

Is there a prerequisite quest or something that needs to be accomplished before turning these in? I'm acquiring quite a few as I am working on Silvermoon City rep by doing Botanic runs, but when I tried turning them in to Magistrix Fyalenn, there's no action option to turn them in. I just get her "Leaving Kael'thas was the best thing . . ." text box.

So you want to turn in all your Sunfury Signet and/or Arcane Tome, which give about 300 rep to The Scryers per 10 you can turn in at a time.

Well first you need to do these 3 quests: Haggard War Veteran at 59, 41, Terrace of Light, Shatt. He will send you to A'dal at 54, 44 inside. These will open the quest City of Light from Khadgar standing in front of A'dal. Then speak to Khadgar a final time and pick a faction to align with (the other faction will hate you).

You can now go turn in your marks to Voren'thal the Seer at 30.75, 34,50.

P.S. For the other two items Mark of Sargeras and Mark of Kil'jaeden. You are required to align with "The Aldor" instead. Same 3 quests above required but instead go turn them in to: Adyen the Lightwarden at 42.8, 91.7.
