Besides the Element Invasions, the best place to farm for this seems to be at the Crumbling Cliffs in The Waking Shores. This area directly between Uktulut Backwater and Uktulut Pier has a load of earth elements with a reasonable spawn rate. The drop chance doesn't seem high, but its the biggest collection of earth elementals I have found.

I've found a few elementals (Sedentary Sediment) in a cave to the left of Cloverwood Hollow about 1 in 5 dropped.

These are always found in Hardened Draconium and Hardened Serevite Deposits
Lots of Earth Elementals don't seem to drop this like the other Elementals (Fire, Frost, etc.) do right now.

Combine one button macro:

#showtooltip
/use rousing order
/use rousing decay
/use rousing air
/use rousing earth
/use rousing fire
/use rousing frost
/use rousing ire

This will simultaneously convert 10 rousings into 1 awakened for each rousing you have at least 10 of. If you don’t select an image for the macro, the tooltip should be the rousing that is highest in the list with qty in your bags. If you want it to be a specific one just put it after the tooltip like:

#showtooltip rousing order

Want to do the opposite?

Both of these stack to 1000 so this won’t really help save bag space unless you just keep them all stored as rousings.

As it was mentioned before, in a cave at 58/51, near Cloverwood Hollow in Ohn'Ahran Plains, the earth elementals have quite a good chance to drop Rousing Earth, some of them would drop 3. What I noticed is that if I can't kill it before it *splits apart*, the mini elementals either drop nothing or grey only. Never seen a Rousing Earth drop from them, so far.

Right, let me enlighten everyone here with this lovely spot in OP, in the cave just southwest of Maru, and how to farm about 50k/hr with these. You will require a group for this, with a specific setup, but it shouldn’t be too hard to assemble when you see the dollar signs in their eyes. You’ll need 1 Monk, 1 Hunter, and 3 AOE DPS of your choosing. There is no healer role in this, but boomkins are great for this, for you trees.

MONK ROLE – The Boring AF role
Monk stays at the bottom of the cave entrance, where the two ramps meet (one leading up exiting the cave, the other leading to the 2nd floor). Spinny kick and whatever that bull statue thing is, nonstop. Put it on macro and get one of those birds that Homer Simpson uses to press the Y key in that one Simpsons Episode where he gets super fat.

HUNTER ROLE – The Cardio Bish
The role you play here is the loud and annoying "shoot @#$% and run away" role. A good hunter for this role specs MM and into as much AOE – barrage, volley, hi-ex trap, as well as disengage and it’s speed increases, anything that makes you have a lot of quick action, low cooldown, AOE’s and “pull everything that moves” actions. Run in loops. Start at the cave entrance, SKIP the very first mob at the front of the cave entrance – he will rubber band back and evade before you can get to the Monk. Run past bull statue to get agro off you. Run up the ramp and pull the three ele’s on the top ring. Drop down in center and pull the bottom mobs, disengage back into the monk spot, pull the one guy off to the left, run past bull statue again to get agro off you. Repeat. If you did this right, the only damage you should take is the fall damage from the drop. Use Camo/Exhil as needed to heal.

Mobs at cave entrance should already be respawned by the time you're high fiving the monk a 2nd time – you can do laps generally with minimal to no downtime. Misdirect on cooldown.

YOU ARE NOT HERE FOR HIGH DPS METERS – Go run Mythics if you want big numbers. This is a frequent problem where hunters hootin' and hollering about being kicked when they're pulling 20k DPS. Your role here is not to blow up the meters. I play a hunter at DF 385ilvl, and don’t even pull 2k DPS in this, which is fine, but I get accosted when I login to join 2x4 groups because I know what I'm doing here with this. More on 2x4 below.

AOE ROLE – The “What’s a cooldown” role
If it does damage, you need to press it. Doesn’t matter if it’s a toy that does 1 damage, or some trinket that launches Russia’s nukes at these mobs. Press it, do it, as fast as possible, as quick as possible. Threat? What the F is that? You don’t care. DPS. Big Numbers. GO! You need to burn these mobs down in under 3-7 seconds, because that’s how long you have until the cardio bish mentioned above, brings more friends for you to play with.

Why do you need so much AOE? At 15%, the ele's will split into pebbles. If they split successfully, you will NOT get rousing earth loot - so you need to kill them before they split - a 1 second cast time that auto-casts when the mob hits 15%. You will get a grey item that does sell for about 1g each pebble though, so it's not a complete loss. An hour of farming just these will get you about 2k at a vendor.

EVEN FASTER FARMING – The 2x4 Farmers approach
The 2x4 group is a method to get even more loot, even faster respawns, but requires an even bigger group. Two groups of 4, consisting of one group with 1 Monk, 1 Hunter, 2 AOE DPS, and the other group with 1 Druid Bear, 1 Hunter, and 2 more AOE DPS. Nothing much changed in roles, other than the hunters needing to coordinate their laps together - use /say or whisper.

When one hunter is at the cave entrance, the other should be up top on the ring. They should be crossing paths at the tank and high fiving as they go past. If a mob spawns that you don't agro, don't worry about it, the role of the other hunter is to get it. You're picking up the slack for the other hunter in this role.

Druid bear does everything to get the mobs on them that the monk/statue misses, with AOE swipe/mangle, etc. A really good bear will also burn the run fast shout they have, forgot the name, on cooldown.

NOTE: DO NOT ADD A 5TH MEMBER, TO EITHER GROUP – doing so will stop the double loot and 2x4 method from working correctly.

NOTE: The second hunter is optional if your primary hunter is good and efficient at the route/pulls, so replace with another AOE if needed, or be nice to a friend by:

60-70 IN AN HOUR – 2x4 with friends
Farm with friends in a 2x4 group above, if they're really good and can do the 2x4 DPS with only 3, you can join and sit at the center with the tank and AFK level yourself to 70 in about an hour to an hour and a half. Roughly one level every 15 minutes with the XP from the kills. You do not get Rep, Gear (outside of random drops), or Renown, so only do this on alts, as you'll need to do the entire campaign and what not still.

EDIT/UPDATE:

Wanted to update you all with this ancient, day-old comment, with an even larger farm method I was introduced too last night:

I HAVE TOO MANY FRIENDS – The 3x4 Mega Farm
BONUS: CARDIO BISHES ARE NO LONGER CARDIO BISHES!

So, as you guessed it, it’s almost identical to the setup, but this requires the following:

• 3x Hunters, Barrage/Volley Spec, no need for disengage anymore.
• 1x Monk – as mentioned above
• 1x Bear Tank – Swipe/Maul, backup for anything Monk misses
• 7x AOE’s of your choosing

Hunter’s basically stand still now, except for the one placed near the monk. One hunter in the small cave near the entrance but before the monk area. One hunter on the top ring. Third hunter is the Monk Hunter. Misdirect on to your tank, barrage, feign death until cooldowns are up. No movement, except for Monk hunter, who may need to move slightly forward and back to get the far left single mob in the corner. AOE’s do their thing as they would.

Found a new cave near Wingrest Embassy that works just fine! You can kill the neutral mobs inside, the primal earth elementals. I also made a new video covering it.
