Does anyone know what beast drops this item? I'm killing everything I see and no luck yet getting even one shank.

1x Shadowy Shank dropped from Great Granitefur an elite, and Loyal Granitefur in the upper levels of Dominance Keep in Revendreth.
Also x1 dropped from Contender Karnek in Gormhive south Ardenweald.

But you will probably are looking because of leveling cooking.

As you will probably need I will list you here all kind of meat in shadowlands

Aethereal meat Aethereal Meat (many mobs can drop this but mostly from Larions (mid lion mid hawk) Larion or Gildfur Roamer in Bastion map)

Raw seraphic wing Raw Seraphic Wing (mostly from flying creatures like wind serpents Languishing Etherwyrm in Bastion map)

Tenebrous ribs Tenebrous Ribs ( mostly from Boars Predatory Bloodtusk or Scavenging Bonetusk in Maldraxus map). Can drop from horse creatures in another maps but with a low %.

Phantasmal haunch Phantasmal Haunch (mostly from Carapid Gorms Bloated Gorm in Aderwealth map at north-east and also Carapids Spinemaw Gorger inside Mist of Tirna Scithe dungeon)

Shadowy shank Shadowy Shank (mostly from Carapid Gorms Gorm Ravener in Aderwealth map and/ or from Spinemaw Gorger inside Mist of Tirna Scithe dungeon). This meat has worst droprate than others.

Creeping Crawler meat Creeping Crawler Meat (mostly from wasps Gorged Decayfly in Anderweald map or Fetid Hornet in maldraxus some)

The order you will need that kinds of meat is the order as you gonna level up your first character; Bastion, Maldraxus, Anderwealth, Revendreth. So take a time in each map while you level up to farm some of those items.

Important to note that this item X30 can also be needed (depends on the daily rotation of what the vendor is asking for) to get your Saddle Comfortable Saddle Blanket (day 6) for Blanchy's Reins Mount Blanchy's Reins from vendor Ta'tru at /way 51.13 78.77

Great place to farm these is at 45,22 in Ardenweald, from Gorm Ravener to the northwest of Glitterfall Basin. They don't do much damage and spawn pretty quickly.

A rare drop meat off almost any meat-dropping creature, but at a generally low rate. Ardenwald is almost definitely your best bet for farming this one.
For higher rates, you should look to elites. A particularly good place is around the Tirna Scithe area, at and near the far west. If you are able to kill the elites there, there are a ton of elite gorms you can kill (and stags further north, but they share space with a bunch of other elites).
Alternatively, for a much lower chance of dropping but much easier fight (and therefore probably more bang for your buck), look for large clusters of stags or gorms.

I had like 10 of those in 15 minutes from Tamed Gargon in Revendreth (51.80,52.32), just next to a Hopecrusher rare spawn location.
There's only a couple of them but it seems that the drop rate is not that low.
They spawn every couple of minutes.
They also drop Tenebrous Ribs.

gorm raveners are dropping lots more phantasmal meat. got 28 meat and 4 shanks. someone mentioned that shanks was so good here that blizzard may nerf it. they very well may have now.
