This can be fished even with low levels of fishing, but don't expect to get it within 5 minutes.

It can be fished multiple times, stacks and disappears when used.

When you throw it at someone they get a "Griefer" buff for 24 hours.

Other similar fishes are:

Tyfish and Awesomefish

Compared to the other two, this fish was rather rare. I only caught 1 Grieferfish in the time it took me to fish 19 Awesomefish and 21 Tyfish.

interesting note. Not sure if it was a bug or not, but I had the Awesome fish buff on me, and it would not let me loot the Grieferfish when I fished it up...

Location Details:
Caught this today in Spires of Arak, 37.72 27.07 for the first time ever.

Achieve/Misc Details:
I am nearly finished with Draenor Angler achievement (have only 15 Abyssal Gulper Eels and 90 Blackwater Whiptail to go), Fishing Shack level 2.

Rarity Details:
So for over 1000 fish caught (not to mention trash and other drops) this has only been caught by me once.

Skill/Gear Details:
I have 700 fishing skill, using Ephemeral Fishing Rod (+100 skill), Tentacled Hat (+100 skill), Abyssal Gulper Eel Bait, Awesomefish Buff active.

Item Details:
According to the text on the drop itself, the item has a "1 Minute Cooldown" and is not soulbound nor unique.

The buff stacks :-), but is removed on death :-(

Useful to mark failers in raids.

For those getting the debuff for doing nothing at all (unsurprisingly, at least on my realm, the griefer fish is used far more to grief people than to show "hey you're a jerk"), if you are a paladin or have a paladin pal, they can hand of protection you, or you can bubble out of it.

For what it's worth, anyway.

Found this out after my roommate took pity on me logging in to check presents and getting slapped in the face repeatedly with a fish by jackanapes super-buffed into enormity on their mounts.

Edit: apparently it's now an actual buff that can be right-clicked off. Awesome! (Hah.)

A very rare fish. I just did the Draenor Angler achievement (catching 700 enourmous fishes), and only got 2 of these during all that fishing.

An 'easy' way to obtain many Grieferfish is to get a lvl 3 Fishing Shack and fish in your Garrison pond for Lunarfall Carp / Frostdeep Minnow. After you kill the Cavedweller, you usually loot a ton of Grieferfish.

The debuff given by right-clicking to to throw this item at your current target Player or NPC is called Griefer and as of Patch 6.1 (Feb 24th 2015) it is right-click removable, so you no longer need to die, pally bubble, BoP, ice block, etc etc to remove it from yourself.

Hi, To Those reading Comments. I have very usefull informations to share. Here it is; First thing i've just realized while looking on Wowhead for Grieferfish / Awesomefish / Tyfish is that if you go on the Awesomefish page. You'll see that it can be fished in every maps. (Gorgrond , Frostfire , Shadowmoon , Lunarfall , Ashran..........). Then you go on Grieferfish page. You see the same. It once again, can be fished in every maps. Then you look on the Tyfish page. You see there aren't any mention on which maps it can be fished in. After reading some comments. I came to read it drops from Cavedwellers right?. But then it isn't either shown any usefull informations regarding : Dropped by (2) Lunarfall Cavedweller and Frostdeep Cavedweller.

Ok so this was 1 thing.

Now thing number 2 ; i'm a dedicated fisherman, which can sometimes fish over 20 000 Enormous Crescent Saberfish / Blind Lake Sturgeon or whatever one other from a different map than shadowmoon valley, and this in under a week. So heres what i discovered, which i personally find very sad. it seemed not to be mentionned anyway by blizzard. but i realized this by my own : while we were on patch 6.0, Awesomefish , Grieferfish were obtained fishing anywhere in any maps. Grieferfish were something like: 1;20 Awesomefish. maybe even less.... maybe only 1;10............ while Awesomefish were obtained also very more often..... Just like 1 Awesomefish out of 35 successfull catchs. (when fishing with the best fishing gear). (Nat's Drinking Hat , the fishing pole that sometimes drop while fishing which give +200 fishing and last for 24 hours). Wearing this, Enormous Fishs were a 100% droprate all the time. So i remember i had a stack of Grieferfish (200). and even over than that... Been trying to sell those at the AH. Grieferfish were at like...... 25-50 Silvers / Each at the AH. There were always like..... not even 10 Grieferfish to buy.......(Probably the reason why people didn't care to almost give it to the buyers). Now then, i knew Grieferfish also didn't have a related achievement like the awesomefish... (Throw 20 awesome fish at someone)....... Which were probably the reason why people bought Awesomefishs. So i've been selling Stacks of 5 and stacks of 20 Awesomefish, for about 1G / Each..... (Still sad cause this is rarer than fishing an Enormous fish which has 100% droprate , and worth the same 1G / Each)...... (personally, i would have sold them like 10G each) but well....... i don't make the prices , i follow them. So anyway..... this to say: i had like 8 Stacks of 200 Awesomefish . and 1 Stack of Grieferfish. (never found a single Tyfish in my whole life)..... But i didn't fish more than 1000 Casts maybe in the Level 3 Fishing Shack of my Garrison..... (so assuming they only can be found from the Cavedwellers Loot. (which as i repeat myself, isn't mentionned into WoWhead, otherwise i would have probably tryed to gather 1 full stack of 200 of this also........ (PS: i didn't know Tyfish even existed until i just came to this page right now, reading comments). Now let's go further than that. At the AH. There were no interrested buyers for my Grieferfishs. (Which i would have charged about 30G / Each due to how rare it is to obtain).......... but again, i don't make the prices, even if there are only 10 Grieferfish been sold right now and that i'm coming with my important stack of 200 to make smaller stacks of 20 or 5 and having about 20 smaller stacks to sell at the AH for this funny fish that really has no real uses........i still had to put them at very cheap prices..... like almost given...... sometimes down to 17 Silvers / Each.... But Well! 4 of these for 1G when i have 200 of them..... is still a nice little 50G for this which takes only 1 inventory slot to keep. (Not a 200G , neither a 300G or even better , a 500G lol. but well.... a small profit is still a profit. So i've been selling my stack of grieferfish for multiple weeks. without finding any buyers..... just maybe sometimes one guy , buying a stack of 5...... but nothing more really... I assume not many peoples does fish as i do, and this is why the item was unknown to buyers from the AH, making it hard to sell... until one day where i was tired of having them in my inventory.... decided to put the stack of 200 all together at AH for like..... 5G? Loll......... (Sold!) someone bought them. :( So this complete the second thing i had to say.

Now the 3rd: You know this Golden fishing pole you sometimes looted that gives +200 Fishing for 24 Hours?...... Well, i fish so much that i sometimes had like 5 Copys of the pole , in my inventory bags , switching to the most recently dropped one that still has his 24 Hour duration , and deleting the others. (same with the 2 different Hats that can drop sometimes too which give +100 Fishing) but those i didn't equip them, i liked my Nat's Drinking Hat way better, So i just deleted them sometimes or let them disapear when the 24 hour is gone. Anyway...... I had discovered that the Fishing Pole had an higher drop rate while fishing in Shadowmoon Valley more than anywhere else in the game. With some maps , i belive , like Nagrand maybe... Will just not drop a single pole out of days of fishing in Nagrand. As the 2 different 24Hours duration Fishing Hats. Did seem to drop more often in specific maps... like Gorgrond..... ((im not talking about fishing in pools) , i never fish in pools)) to drop the Poles and the Hats. Anyway.......... I had so much Hats and Poles dropping all day long that i had to delete them from my inventory in order to have more room for new stacks of 200 Enormous Fishs. Until then, Blackrock Foundry released! Woohoo! 6.1 is out! finally some new raids going on!..... No no no..... For Fishermens, 6.1 patch of Draenor really disapointed me. Now adays. Since this patch came, it's been like a couple months already?... (6.2 is coming out in 4 days now at the acctual time im writing this). So for all the time i've been fishing like i did since 6.1......One new item were added that could be fished anywhere in Draenor aswell..... the (Bladebone Hook)....... we're it mentionned somewhere that they would release this item? i didn't read about it.... Anyway, So i still fished and fished and fished........ for many more months in 6.1. and Heres my new info about Fishing into 6.1. It seems like that the Grieferfishs are no more obtainable (Correct me if im worng lol) But i still fish everyday and never see any Grieferfishs since 6.1 has came..... I mean........ ''NOT A SINGLE ONE''!......Seems like, Grieferfishs removed from the loot table and that they added the Bladebone Hook instead, Which has a limit stack of only 20. and that once again, none will ever buy them off AH...... sometimes i come with my 8 Stacks of 20 Bladebone Hook for sell, and i almost have to give them because people won't buy them.......... i get so tired to receive it back by the mail after a 48 Hours without anyone buying it. that i feel like vendoring them and this is just what i do nowadays...... Not like this item is useless...... i know, nobody needs to open their fishs for food for an hour long, as soon as they get it, this is even, i would say.... a bad thing to do if your planning on fishing at this spot for the whole day long. you will just fill up your inventory slots faster since 5 Enormous = 20 Fish Fleshs and that they both go up to a limit stack of 200...(not enough place to keep writing)...TBC

I have done some reading on various pages yet I have not seen any report of people catching these fish in the last several months, if not longer. I am posting here just to see if I can get any replies with confirmation that this fish is still available.

I have done my fair share of fishing and have yet to see any of these fish. Granted, all of my fishing has been done post 6.2.

Interested in any feedback.
