This fish was the requirement for a daily for me today and I was wondering why I couldn't "use" it even though I had several in my bags. It will seem obvious to some and not so obvious to others (like myself), but you must have 10/20 of the fish in your bags in order to "use" the fish - a single fish/five fish/nine fish doesn't give you 10/20 of them per one.

Blind Lake Sturgeon Angler Enormous Blind Lake Sturgeon
You can find these in Shadowmoon Valley and you have plenty of safe places to fish these up near most quest givers and smaller cities.

Spam this macro to combine all the fish of shadowmoon valley without having to click them or search your bags.

To my knowledge large and enormous will not yield the eggs. Only small ones do. BTW you *should* get small blind lake sturgeon bait. Put that on and almost every time produces a small blind lake sturgeon.

Stood on a large mushroom in a lake at 35,16, fished up Blind Lake Sturgeon Bait immediately and made that my go to spot.

As Horde, I have found a convenient place to fish these is the water of a cave directly beneath Exile's Refuge, a small orc village near Gloomshade Grove, in Shadowmoon Valley. Absolutely nothing at all in that cave but water, peace, and quiet.

I find 19.61, 11.91 to be the best spot for me especially since I'm horde. I don't have to worry about any creatures and the only Alliance Npc that I had to worry about was Zaari the flight master. Which was easy to maneuver away from and go up the hill.

It'll take a few minutes to fish for the Blind lake sturgeon Bait but after that I had enough for what I needed.

Just got these took me 1 hr and I also got 9 fishing poles. Guess wont need buy one :P..

GloomShade Grove 36, 15.

I was standing on a mushroom in the water. Took me 2 min to get the first bait and after that I got a new one when I used the one I got before. I am Horde I was safe :P Happy Fishing.

For Horde: if you have the Darktide Roost flightpath...just hop off there and start fishing. Quiet area, no mobs. I had 933 fishing level with lures etc and the fishing flew by in a blink of an eye.

I found out that you fish only these, even without bait, atop waterfall near The Shimmer Moor, around 59, 68 - where the frogs are. So if you are overstocked with Crescent Saberfish, you should check this place out.

I had no luck with Lunkers in that place though...

If you don't want to run around too much, you can grab a Blind Lake Sturgeon Bait, equip that 200+ skill worm thingy and go to 35.80 - 14:70 (Right outside your garrison and in to the water).

Was fishing for about 10 minutes: got 13 enormous and 8 middle ones; also, got 2 baits back! And an Ephemeral Fishing Pole

Should mention, that fishing skill was 560 + 20 skill from Big Iron Fishing Pole + 5 from Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat + 200 from Worm Supreme;

As of 6.1, cleaning of fish has gotten a LOT simpler. It now takes 5 fish to clean, no matter what size they are, and they now give a set amount of mats. Current yield is as follows, per 5 fish.

Enormous: Yields 20
Normal: Yields 10
Small: Yields 5

Fishing the Fishies for the Feasties (Horde).
Forget the schools, with the bait, you no longer need them. If they are there, and you just got to your fishing spot, use them, at least until you fish up a bait for your fish. Otherwise, you don't need to look for them. Buy yourself a bunch of Worm Supreme on the auction house. They're cheap, they are awesome and you need them! Use your bait, use the worms, and fish away, without having to look for pools. Here's a quick run down of places to fish near horde flight points. (sorry alliance, I don't have an alliance toon in WoD).

Sea Scorpion:
Fly to Frostwolf Overlook in Talador, go either to the north shore or the west shore (through enemies) and fish there on the shore.

Abyssal Gulper Eel
Fly to Crow's Crook in Spires of Arak and go directly south, to the little pools of water. Sometimes you'll find some schools there, sometimes you won't. Fish away, you'll get bait soon enough and then it's easy peasy!

Blind Lake Sturgeon
As horde, if you haven't been to Shadowmoon Valley yet, then fly/ride to Terrokar Refuge in Talador (70, 57). From there you ride southeast, following the path into Shadowmoon Valley. First go directly east to (go south and around Anchorite's Sojourn since it's an alliance outpost) about 81, 58 and then just follow the path east. It'll curve south and then east. Your ultimate goal is to reach Exile's Rise (45, 27), directly south and east of Gloomshade Grove which you can see on your map. So you know where you're going.

There's a number of places to fish in SMV but, I'm sending you to Exile's Rise so that you get a flight point there and can return to fish anytime you need more sturgeon. Now that you have the FP, go into the cave directly underneath the outpost and fish your little heart out.

Fat Sleeper
If you already have done Nagrand, then fly to Riverside Post and fish right there. If you haven't, then you can go from Talador into Nagrand and fish right as you enter, north of Mar'Gor's Overwatch. Around 89, 70. You can enter Nagrand by following the read west from Auchindon in Taldor.

Fire Ammonite
Exit your Garrison and go right, you'll see a big lake of lava. That's your spot. You'll get the bait quickly enough. Stay and fish there to your heart's content.

Jawless Skulker
Fly to Evermorn Springs in Gorgrond, go north into the spring, and then fish in the middle where all the wonderful water lily petals are. Stand on one and fish away.

I fished up about 200 or so of each fish meat (that's meat, after the fish is skinned, I always use the blade hook so my fish is skinned automatically, so I'm not sure how much fish I caught since they each give different number of meat (Enormous - 4; Regular - 2; Small - 1). But, I didn't use schools of fish, just fishing in open water with the bait and the worms. :)

P.S. If you catch a Fragrant Pheromone Fish, it says you can only use it on another person. Use it on your bodyguard, both of you get the bonus 100 fishing for 5 min. :)

Shimmer Moor (just south of The Draakorium) is an excellent spot. I needed to catch 94 enormous for the achievement and got them in just about 40 minutes. Not a single saberfish to be seen.

Probably could have gone a little faster with a better lure (I was using the +75 from the fishing hat), but I didn't have anything else on me.

I can confirm that this location still gives near 100% Enormous Blind Lake Sturgeon, with no Sturgeon bait, as of patch 7.1.5 .

It is by far the best location to fish up 100 Enormous Sturgeon for the Draenor Angler quest.

The best spot to catch these, by far, still is the lake at The Shimmer Moor (about 57.45, 64.73) in Shadowmoon Valley. I spent about 45 minutes there - no pools, using no bait - and got my Blind Lake Sturgeon Angler achievement. I did have 100 Draenor fishing and I was using the Kalu'ak fishing pole, but that's it. I caught 95 Enormous Blind Lake Sturgeon, 78 Small Blind Lake Sturgeon, and 62 Blind Lake Sturgeon. There are a couple of Underbrush Stalkers along the way, but there are no mobs at the lake at all - only harmless fey dragons, croakers, and mothlings, so it's a good spot for both Horde and Alliance. There also aren't a bunch of croakers swimming around that get in the way of your bobber. If you are Horde, be advised that the road to the lake goes directly through The Draakorium (an Alliance village) at around 59.05, 55.57, so be sure to go around to the east of the road a bit or you'll be surprised by a bunch of PvP NPCs. Another interesting, albeit irrelevant, tidbit about this lake: you'll never run out of breath if you're under water there. Purely out of bored curiosity, I tested it several times in all different parts of the lake and no breath meter ever appears.
