Community Tributes to Byron 'Reckful' Bernstein

We are saddened to hear of Byron 'Reckful' Bernstein's passing. He was a pillar of the WoW community and inspired so many players. From his 3000 rating in PvP to trailblazing the way on Twitch for other World of Warcraft players, he was a role model for so many in our community.
In 2018, the United States reported over 48,000 suicides, up from 42,000 in 2014 according to the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics.
Suicide rates continue to rise
year after year--we can all help prevent suicide.
If you live in the United States, the

has many resources for people needing to talk, get help, or learn how to help their friends who are struggling. If you live outside of the US, here is an

if you do not feel comfortable talking to friends and family first. Talking about suicide is difficult, with the stigma surrounding it in society, but you are loved. Your life is valuable.
Out of respect, we are not reporting on the specific means of Reckful's death.
Instead, we wanted to use this post to celebrate his accomplishments and highlight how the community has come together to remember him. Many players of both factions are visiting his NPC

as well as paying respects in Stormwind Cathedral and Grommash Hold.
As we close out this post, we wanted to share one final tweet of Reckful being happy and laughing with friends. We hope he is at peace now. Our deepest sympathies are with his family, friends, and community.
