Classic War Effort Guides Now Available - Everything About the Opening of the Ahn'Qiraj Gates

With Phase 5 coming to Classic WoW this week, there's a step before players can venture inside Ahn'Qiraj and face the Old God C'Thun and its minions: The War Effort and the 10 Hour War. To help players navigate these events, we've prepared guides to explain everything that is happening before the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj open.

What is the War Effort?
In order to prepare to strike at Ahn'Qiraj, players must first collect an exorbitant number of materials across both factions. While ultimately the goal of these is to unlock the Gates, there are rewards in contributing to the efforts.
You are able to obtain the following rewards from turning in War Effort Quests:
Ahn'Qiraj War Effort Supplies
, which contains random BOE items and scrolls.
You obtain one War Effort Supply box for every quest turn-in.
The War Effort Supplies will change depending on what items you turn in - For example, quest turn-ins for the low level
Copper Bar
s grants a Supply Box containing low-level supplies, while turning in
Runecloth Bandage
s will grant high-level supplies.
Alliance Commendation Signet
or
Horde Commendation Signet
, which can be used to either increase Reputation with one of your faction's races, or more
Ahn'Qiraj War Effort Supplies
.
When doing a turn-in quest for the first time, you will always receive 10 signets. Repeated turn-ins will grant different amounts of Signets, as referred by the quantity lists below.
Once both factions have completed their War Effort quests and gathered all required supplies, NPCs from both sides will prepare to travel to Silithus. This lull will last for 5 days, in which players can observe the supplies gathered in Ironforge and Orgrimmar slowly diminish as they are transported to Silithus.
Once the 5 days have passed, accomplished players who have obtained
The Scepter of the Shifting Sands
will be able to bang the Scarab Gong in Silithus, beginning the 10 hour long war event that will lead to the opening of Ahn'Qiraj.
