Looking for Guild Feature Coming in 4.1
Patch 4.1 - Character Pane Updates + Guild UI
Blizzard's been rumbling about this feature since Blizzcon 2010. The Looking for Guild system is exactly what its name implies--players, guildless and guild masters alike will be able to open up the window and perform a number of things:
Add a Guild
. If you are a guild master, you will be able to add your guild to the long list of your server's guilds. Players looking for one will then be able to look at and evaluate your entry.
Browse Guilds
. Searching for a guild is trivialized by the LFGuild tool. Just enter your level of commitment (Casual/Moderate/Hardcore), your availability (Weekdays/Weekends), the class roles your can perform, as well as a short comment and you are done! You can now look at all the guilds that match your playstyle and if you are not quite satisfied, you can always go back and change some of your settings--maybe you are not really a Moderate player, but a Hardcore one instead?
Recruit Players
. Guild masters will be able to search for players and recruit them via this tool. The process will function similarly to the ability to browse guilds that guildless players will have.

Patch 4.1 Guild Challenges Detailed by Blizzard
Guild Challenges are essentially guild quests. They are massive undertakings that require many of your guild members' participation if you want to succeed. They award your guild massive experience if you fully exhaust the feature and also reward gold and rested experience if your guild has already hit the cap. Check out the explanative blue post
