You need to harvest 250 of this type of lumber to earn the achievement Bûcheronnage de minuit and from then on, you can gather the lumber while mounted. Speeds up the process quite a bit, unless you're druid.

If you want a head start before the launch of Midnight, you can exchange 1x Essence de bois for 20x Bois thalassien (It counts toward this achievement Bûcheronnage de minuit) with the following NPC in your neighborhood:

To increase lumber gathering speed/efficiency, one might want to consider to enable the "Interact Key" in the options and then do a little bit of more fine tuning.
Directly from the Options menu, you can bind the Interact Key to a specific button on your keyboard.

Enable Interact Key (image)

Copy/paste the following commands (including the / symbol, too) in your chat window:

/console SoftTargetInteractRange 30 -- this increases the reach of your interact key (default is 10)

/console SoftTargetInteractArc 2 -- this allows you to interact with objects even if you're not facing them

Finally, upvote the comment so as to spread the knowledge and make everyone's life easier. :)

I calculated 1420 lumber needed, substantially more than from previous expansions, but I only got 59 items in my spreadsheet so may have missed one. Best to loot all of them you see or to get the items off AH!

Been in zul'aman for about an hour, not a single lumber node as spawend, feels bugged.

Make sure you get the hatchet from your neighborhood npc, some people not doing housing are not bothering with it and you need that item to learn "track lumber"

Either there are way too few locations of lumber nodes in Eversong and Zul'Aman or something bugged out, but right now I'm getting more lumber in Voidstorm than either of the other two - which is still almost nothing, but more than three laps of both Eversong and Zul'Aman, each

Harandar seems to be the best for now, though
