To use the Majestic Lures in Midnight, you must place the lure in the bait location of that zone.
Once located in the right area, you will get a Sixth Sense debuff. Then place the lure at your feet.

Okay, to clear up some things.

For those who don't have a waypoint addon, the location for this lure to be dropped is between Deathholme and Windrunner Spire. Its just a bit east of the mountains between the two, if you are close to where the map shows that the colors of the grass are changing you are pretty close.

Two, I didn't have the Sixth Sense Buff pop up for me till I got off my mount. Not sure if its a coincidence or if you need to be off your mount for it to show. Also, it seems like either its limited to being used once per day or that it has some sort of cooldown shared between all players on a server, I'm not really sure which.

It seems like once you've done it once for the day (?) the Sixth sense debuff disappears, even if you killed it from someone elses lure. Tried exiting the area and come back but the debuff is gone. Also didn't receive a fin upon skinning it.

Now with Weak Auras gone and this buff/debuff being invisible - not trackable... is there any way - other than remembering yourself - to TRACK if you have skinned this (and the others) today? For people with mutiple skinners this is a real PITA to remember who did what today :S

It's worth noting that the epic drops are not guaranteed when skinning the mob (Griffe-sinistre) that gets summoned, and that the material cost to create the lure (8x Poisson-wyrm des arcanes + 8x Poisson-lynx) noticeably outweighs the value of the normal materials you will get from skinning the rare. You are basically gambling once a day with the low % drop chance of Griffe majestueuse or Peau majestueuse in the hopes of "hitting the jackpot" but as with real life, the house wins most of the time, and you'll only get a small quantity of Cuir tanné par le Vide and Peau tannée par le Vide for your trouble.

I don't have enough kills to prove/disprove this- but its possible using the 'sharpen your knife' ability may hinder your chances at majestic mats. (I used it and didn't get any majestic mats but got hides, but when i didnt use it i did get majestic mats.)
Also you need points in the sub spec for majestic mats.

I got both a majestic hide and a majestic claw from one kill.

EDIT: nope- these mats are just rng rare. I now have 40 pts each in talented tracker and majestic hides and still have some days where I'm 0/5 kills. I also had one glorious day where i was 3/5, including one kill that gave me FOUR EACH hides and claws. (be a long time before i see that again)

in order to track your progress for the day you can run the following:

Since Blizzard doesn't really provide a proper in-game way to track Majestic Lure daily cooldowns across alts, I made an addon called Majestic Beast Tracker for it. It lets me see which Majestic Lure beasts I've already skinned today on all of my characters without logging into each one or tracking it manually. It's available on CurseForge.

It auto-detects Skinning and Talented Tracker points on login and shows the lures in a simple color-coded grid. Green means ready, red means still on cooldown, with time remaining until daily reset.

Kills are picked up automatically from loot events, and you can also manually mark or clear them if needed. Left-click opens the lure recipe, double-click crafts it, and right-click places a waypoint to the beast location.

Im not sure perception even helps. I use 150 perception from throwing in fish and a perception flask, nothing seems to buff the odds. I havent got alot of these epics but one day i got all 3 to drop for some reason with no perception addings at all. I have 4 knowledge points left to get to the " increase chance to get majestic materials" unlock and i sure hope it will get better. Also i have seen an increasing amount of leeches not bothering to get their own bait, can i really blame them? No.. standing around fishing 8 arcane fish all day while getting 10 other useless fish is tiresome. It wouldnt have been to bad if you had alot of arcane wyrmfish pools but theres noone, in fact fishing in pools for those seems useless and the extra time it takes to go from pool to pool makes it even as efficient to stand on one spot and just fish inormally

If you arrive at the lure location and don't see the Sixth Sense buff, stop running around mindlessly, just use any ability to trigger it.
This seems to be a phasing/loading issue. Using an ability forces a position update and the buff appears immediately. I personally tend to use movement abilities like Roll, Fel Rush, Divine Steed, Heroic Leap and so on.

I just wasted the gold to buy all the mats, made the lure, got the sixth sense debuff, placed the bait on the ground, waited around for a few minutes. No spawn.... GRRRRRRRR

Can't place your lure?

The range on the lure is really small. Try right-clicking the lure and then clicking on yourself. It will drop right at your feet.

(Of course, also make sure you are in the right location and that your Sixième sens buff has activated.)
