EDIT: Looks like they fix it according to rapidly loosing price on AH and more and more of them in AH overall

EDIT 04.3.2026 AFTER RESET FOR EU uncommon stuff start drops even from non High-value Beast (for example Hawkstrider: Peerless Plumage farmed tons of them now from non H-V Beasts)

According to people know what its need to farm these now and its pretty much normalized after few fixes i wont update this post more - Wowhead also added "Skinned from"

Our weekly quest call for 5 Peerless Plumage and they barley drop and over 25k for 5 of the skins in the AH for 3KP this is a rip off! blizzard should fix the drop rate ASAP

I farmed these for the weekly from Faucon-pérégrin resplendissant to the east of Brightwing Estate in Eversong.

Drop rate is low but doable, got the 5 I needed in less than 30mins.

I farmed those darn birds for over 1h and only got 1 plumage. The drop rate is still very low, unless there is something else that drops more of these, birds are pretty bad.

P.S Skinning 115 with midnight green tools

I farmed Glittering Hawkstriders along the Eversong coast for about 2 hours or less and got three "Peerless Plummage" ... it seems that the quest "Style and Skill" for Skinners offers 3 knowledge skill points while the AH on my realm offers just under 2000g for it. I will sell these for now while the AH is inflated at the start of launch, and I will come back to this quest when world mob scaling or the drop rate is improved.

I assume the quest takes the materials upon completion, but I'm not sure.

I believe the Gainful Gathering skill tree specialization increases the drop rate of rare items as in previous expansions.

I have the impression that these do not show up in the chat when looted. I have had several "empty" skinnings, and each time a plumage popped up in my bag.
Can anybody confirm?

Took me 6 hours (and 1k leather) to get all 5, they all dropped around one hour apart of each other.

Mountain Rocktalons seem to be dropping the Plumage, I just got 2 within 10 Rocktalons, going to farm the other 3 for the daily quest.Up top of the tower columns too. Far southeast eversong
