Titanic Purification - New Questline, Cleansing a Corrupted Item Does Not Give a Socket

A new quest was added to introduce Titanic Purification in the recent PTR build. Titanic Purification cleanses a Corrupted Item removing all Positive and Negative effects. We have also run some tests and found that Cleansing a Corrupted Item does not give a socket.

New Questline
In the recent PTR build, two new quests were added to explain the Corruption system and Titanic Purification in game.
After your complete the first
Halls of Origination intro
and complete the first assault, your Assault cache will contain a Corrupted piece.
This Corrupted piece currently is 445 Bracers for your Armor type that have a +5 Corruption T3 Crit Stat Affix.
You will then automatically be given the
Corrupción curiosa
quest to go to the Heart Forge and talk to Wrathion. Then you'll be told to talk to MOTHER in
Elementos de corrupción
. This unlocks the
Purificación titánica
system!
Cleansing a Corrupted Item
As previously covered, the cost of using Titanic Purification is 5

. Talk to MOTHER, place your item in the box and click Purify!
Your Item will then
lose the Positive Equip Effect and Corruption.
Cleansing and Sockets
We've received some reports that cleansing Corrupted Gear returns sockets.
We've investigated and have not found this to be the case
. We cleansed about 30 Corrupted Items on this PTR build and
none
of them returned a socket. The only way to add sockets to gear nthat we know of, is the
Ojo de N'Zoth arrancado
item, though it is very pricey to buy at 25,000
