Best Items to Upgrade for Elemental Shaman

Completing endgame activities in The War Within will award you with Harbinger Crests and Valorstones. You can use these currencies to upgrade items you obtain to their max potential (explained in this guide). Due to the more powerful items requiring the limited currency of Crests on a weekly lockout, it means your decision making early on can be difficult. In general, you want to prioritize items you've obtained at the highest upgrade track you can obtain, with the following criteria to decide on the item:

Strong TrinketsExplanation

Easy first choice to upgrade. Especially if you are crafting weapons, upgrading the trinkets is the best bang for your buck.

Main Hand WeaponExplanation

This is your first priority to get high item level, but you do have an alternative option in crafting if you wish. If you get hold of a good enough option here, it may be better to do this and switch your Spark of Omens priority accordingly.
Lowest Item Level Pieces Explanation

Following key pieces, bringing up the item level of pieces you don't expect to get hold of at a higher item level in the near future to remove the Crest requirement is best. Ideally you should do Helm, Chest and Legs first due to their stat budget, but after that go off sims.

T21 4pc info is contradictory. You first say Aftershock is the go-to talent, but then a few lines down you say it doesn't do better than Totem Mastery.

Prydaz gives a shield every 30 seconds, doesn't matter if you take damage or not.

Looks like there might be some contradictory information;

Satchel of Misbegotten Minions is the strongest of the steady single-target proc trinkets from dungeons this time around.

But in the sim charts, Inscrutable Quantum Device gets a higher dps than Satchel of Misbegotten Minions
I'm not sure which is better, could you explain the rationale for either

Hey thanks for the guide! is there another guide or updated one for M+ Bis? So Bis gear for M+ not from M+? like the Arcane mages gear page?
or do we just swap out the helm,shoulders, chest and gloves for tier? Thanks!

The BiS raid list has the wrong source for the Screaming Black Dragonscale. That drops from Kazzara, not the Essence of Shadow.

Maybe point out that Belor'relos, the Suncaller has a pitiful 10 yard range and so despite very nice damage output, it's not really a great trinket for a caster which has zero reason to ever be that close to melee

Am I missing something or is the loot table bugged in the game? Elemental shaman bis cloak m+ doesn't exist in the loot table.

I think a lot more emphasis needs to be made on the fact that at the moment your gear and talents are tied together in the form of needing to have a shield equipped for Thunderstrike Ward - easy to forget if you swap to a staff haha

guide not to follow, there are lots of errors and the editor doesn't even know what the right items to equip are.

When I talked about it on the class discord, people preferred to talk about me rather than the error.

Contribute
