Necromancer Overview in Diablo Immortal
Masters of life and death who harvest the power of the dead, tormenting their enemies with skeletal minions and dark magic.
The Necromancer is ideal in PvE for crowd control by summoning up to 7 minions: including 4 Skeletal Warriors (), 1 , and 1 Bone Golem (). Start with leaping the Golem at the desired target in the battlefield to taunt enemies, and then summon the Skeletal Warriors and the Skeletal Mage. Resummon as needed, and keep pressing the Skeletal Warriors active to increase their attack speed by 80%.
A build with the can delay the movement of enemies by blocking the path between them and the Necromancer, protecting allies as well from enemy projectiles that get absorbed by the wall.
There are multiple AOE skills to dish out loads of damage across the battlefield: , , , , . In addition to these skills, there are power essences within Legendary Items that add extra AOE capabilities - like Skeleton Warriors detonating on command, Golem with immolation aura, Bone Wall turning into a Pillar of Corpses that slow nearby enemies with a pool of acid surrounding the pillar, or the Bone Wall becoming ablaze when the Necromancer ignites the wall with Primary Attacks.
Season 2 added new Legendary Items:
Arc of Misery: Bone Spirits now bounces whenever it hits a wall.
Vesperguard (offhand): Skeletal Mage now shoots continuous rays at enemies.
Studied Menace (head): Corpse Lance now causes enemies to decay, dealing 850 damage for 3 seconds.
Shared Service (shoulders): Bone Armor now reduces all continuous damage you take by 40%.
Cloak of Quills (Chest): Bone Armor now causes your summons to continuously damage nearby enemies, but no longer protects them.
Hissing Skin (legs): Grim Scythe now increases all damage you deal by 2% for each enemy hit, up to 10%, for 3 seconds.
Some of these Season 2 legendary items are great for all or some activities in the game:
in theory should do damage to mobs that path into the continuous rays.
The adds an extra layer of AOE damage to your minions. Paired with , turns the Skeletal Mage into a melee-range grim reaper and the base keeps the Skeletal minions in melee range -- means that all your minions have continuous AOE damage on large groups of enemies. Great in Challenge Rifts, Raids and Dungeons.
The gives the corpse explosion necromancer a great boost by amplifying every skill damage whenever you hit multiple enemies with Grim Scythe.
seems situational and not for all activities in the game. The only time when you require to reduce continuous damage is likely in Challenge Rifts, Raids and Path of Blood (Shadows faction). These are the three activities where you might find bosses that do continuous damage such as fire breath, icy breath, poison clouds, acid pools, scorched ground, and such. For PvP... well, if you have problems with the Wizard and Demon Hunter PvP skills, it might be worth experimenting with this item. It might help versus the Barbarian whirlwind as well.
Strengths and Weaknesses of the Necromancer in Diablo Immortal
The Necromancer is a master of crowd control with his ability; the blocks the enemies' path; protects the Necromancer, his minions and allies in PvE and PvP.
The Recommended Build for PvP that Blizzard suggests does not include ; therefore, the Necromancer's biggest weakness is lack of mobility in PvP Battlegrounds. Crusader has (with ), and Barbarians have tremendous mobility with and . In addition, modifies Barbarian's to pull enemies behind the Barbarian, stun-locking the Necromancer. Monks can continuously teleport to the necromancer with their attacks. All of these can get dangerously close to finishing a low-health Necromancer who is trying to flee to safety.
Necromancer Skills in Diablo Immortal
All Necromancers have three types of Skills: Primary Attacks, Skills, and Ultimate.
You may have up to 1 Primary Attack and 4 Skills available to you at all times, and these may be switched around while out of combat. Using your Primary Skills charges your Ultimate bar. When the Ultimate bar is full, you can unleash the Necromancer's Ultimate power against your enemies, and the bar will begin to charge again. A full Ultimate bar will not continue charging until after it's used.
These abilities unlock as they level up through the game, although all classes start out with 1 Primary Attack and 2 Skills to start.
Primary Attack:
Players learn 2 Primary Attacks, one at Level 1 and one at Level 34. Primary Attacks have no cooldown.
Skills:
Players learn 12 total Skills, starting with 2 Skills at Level 1. All Skills have cooldowns, ranging from under a second up to nearly a minute.
Ultimate:
This is a charged power that modifies your selected Primary Skill. This requires a lengthy charge-up to activate.
Necromancer Primary Attacks
Necromancers have 2 Primary Attacks. Using these will charge up the bar for your Ultimate ability.

Necromancer Ultimate Ability

Necromancer Gear Selection in Diablo Immortal
Gear selection is about finding the best stats for your class and build, understanding the best attributes, and looking for the best Legendary Powers. Understanding how all three work together will go a long way to helping you find the best equipment to succeed as a Necromancer.
Necromancer Stat Priority
In Diablo Immortal, you build five Stats on your character through gear selection. Your Stats determine your Combat Rating; the more Stat points you have on your gear, the higher your Combat Rating. You receive +1 Combat Rating for each point in the following stats. While three stats are the same for all classes, Strength gives +0.3 Damage to Melee classes, while Intelligence gives +0.3 damage to Caster classes.
For Necromancer, these are the most important stats, in order:
Willpower
Each WIL Point gives:
+1 Combat Rating, +0.1 Potency, +0.1 Resistance
Notes: The most stats accumulated from Necromancer Legendary Items and Set Items is Willpower. Each point of Willpower provides 1 point in both Offense Rating and Defense Rating. Willpower appears in gear about 32% more than Fortitude. (i.e. 968 Willpower, Fortitude 728, Intelligence 621. You get 968 Combat Rating from 968 Willpower; and 96 Potency and Resistance -- using the +0.1 conversion rate per Willpower on the latter.)
Fortitude
Each FOR Point gives:
+1 Combat Rating, +0.1 Armor, +0.1 Armor Penetration
Notes: Fortitude is the second most abundant stat coming from Legendary Items and Set Items. For each point of Fortitude, you get 1 point of Combat Rating; plus 72 Armor and 72 Armor Penetration.
Intelligence
Each INT Point gives:
+1 Combat Rating, +0.3 Damage
Notes:
The third abundant stats from Legendary Items and Set Items is Intelligence. You get 1 point of Offense/Defense Rating per 1 point of Intelligence. But a bit above 0.3 damage per Intelligence point. Same as Willpower, but you get around 30% less Intellect stat from gear and gems than Willpower. (i.e. 621 Intelligence = 186 damage, 621 Offense/Defense Rating)
Strength
Each STR Point gives:
0 Combat Rating, +0 Damage
Notes:
Necromancers get 0 Strength in any of their Legendary Items and Set items.
Vitality
Each VIT Point gives:
+1 Combat Rating, +3 Life
Notes: The least stats gathered from Legendary Items and Set Items is Vitality. My Necromancer only collected 530 Vitality. Increased Life by 3 to 1590. Offense and Defense Rating were both 530.
Necromancer Magic Attributes
Magic Attributes are any properties on your gear that provide additional offensive or defensive benefits besides the five stats above. In general, you will be prioritizing important Stats first, but Necromancers will also want to focus on specific Magic Attributes as well. Some attributes such as
Magic Find
will be equally helpful to all classes.
Note: This is my Beta Necromancer in Ashwold Cemetery in Hell 4 at Level 55 (142 Paragon). At that point in time, I had just completed the requirement to enter Hell 4 difficulty. These stats might be helpful to calculate on your own the best stats to get from gear, Gems, Legendary Gems, the Legacy of the Horadrim shrine and Paragon Trees ahead of entering Hell 4 (aka end-game difficulty). These were the six most important stats.
These are example stats of a Necromancer in Hell 2 difficulty:
Necromancer Legendary Powers
Each class in Diablo Immortal has class-specific Legendary Powers that can appear on Legendary items. Since there are several Legendary Powers that can affect each of the Primary attacks and Skills, we've put the Legendary Powers into a separate guide for Necromancers, including an analysis of each Legendary Power's utility. We have also written a guide on how to transfer Legendary Powers from one piece of Legendary Gear to another.

Necromancer Legendary Gems in Diablo Immortal
Legendary Gems can be obtained one of many different ways, and go a long way toward increasing your power in Diablo Immortal. These items can be socketed into Primary Gear slots (Main Hand, Off-Hand, Chest, Head, Shoulders, Legs), so you can equip up to 6 at once. These come in 1-Star, 2-Star, and 5-Star varieties, with the 5-Star gems being both the most rare and most powerful.
There are certain Legendary Gems that work better for some classes than for others due to their mix of attributes. They are also recommended Legendary Gems for each of the Necromancer's three endgame builds: Chain Reaction (PvE), Defend the General (PvE), and Defend the Living (PvP). For more information about recommended Legendary Gems for Necromancer, please see this guide:
