Diablo 4's ultra-rare Unique items have been a
hot community topic
over the last few weeks. But how should players know how these iconic items actually look like when they're so incredibly rare - or why they're so good in the first place? Don't fret - we're diving into an analysis on these Uniques, starting with an exclusive look at
Harlequin Crest
, better known as Shako, arguably the most powerful item in Diablo 4!
First Recorded Shako Drop Confirmed How to Obtain the Six Rarest Uniques in Diablo 4
Like its original version in Diablo 2, Diablo 4's Shako is all about providing stats that every single build would like to have: Maximum Life and All Stats for raw power and survivability, and Resource Generation and Cooldown Reduction to make every build work even better in the endgame.

Additionally, the item basically has two additional affixes as its unique power. And while up to 20% unconditional Damage Reduction alone would be enough to equip Harlequin Crest in a heartbeat, it is the
+4 Ranks to All Skills
that really makes this item best-in-slot for all classes and builds, especially the ones relying on Cooldown Reduction through high skill levels like Ice Shards Sorcs, Whirlwind Barbarians or Twisting Blade Rogues. And don't forget: All Skills, in this case, means almost everything on the Skill tree, including active abilities and passives!

Back in Diablo 2, Shako, which got its name from the much snappier item type name Harlequin Crest is based on, holds similar item value up to this day as class builds in D2 are also heavily reliant on scaling up skill ranks in the endgame. Unlike it's overall design theme, Shako's original model received quite the update with its introduction to Diablo 4 though, which is most certainly an upgrade - or is it? Let us know in the comments which model you prefer!
