Diablo 4 Season 6 Will Launch with Expansion - Vessel of Hatred Interview Roundup

The Cinematic Release Date Trailer that was showcased is the toned-down version, but there will not be an uncut version released.

With the Vessel of Hatred expansion, there will be new Dungeons, Strongholds, and new monsters.

Mercenaries will level up with you and have their own skill trees.

There will be even more gruesome cutscenes in Vessel of Hatred for players to enjoy!

Internal feedback is very valuable to Blizzard; Diablo 4 as a base game also got internal feedback from Activision and King.

With Microsoft's acquisition, Blizzard asked for internal feedback from some of Microsoft's other studios as they rely heavily on internal feedback early and often in order to adapt and pivot their final products.

From Rod Fergusson: " we hear very loudly the sword and board paladin, crusader fantasy that we are not currently fulfilling, but we wanted an opportunity to do something that was based within the region we were adding. We wanted to do something new that was creatively interesting and just bring a new experience."

Rod Fergusson: "I don't think the Spiritborn will satisfy a sword & board play style. we definitely heard the feedback, we know people are excited about Paladins or sword and board gameplay. But we also knew that like again we did a lot of nostalgia in the first five and so we felt like at least for the first one we have to be able to look beyond nostalgia and start breaking new ground on classes and trying new things."

Having the new class (Spiritborn) be thematically relevant was very important to Blizzard.

Rod Fergusson would like there to be more than one place to get Paragon Glyph experience besides Nightmare Dungeons.

Season 5 will be the last Season before the release of the expansion.

Season 6 will start at the same time as Vessel of Hatred launches.

Rod Fergusson: "When you launch something, you're always doing it with a set of assumptions. We had the assumption that Diablo 4 was meant to be more Diablo 2-like. And so one of the assumptions was that people were going to be okay with the long grind for the Unique or an Uber Unique in particular."

A closer look at the new region of Nahantu and its new jungle visuals will be part of the Spiritborn gameplay reveal on July 18.

Referring to other ARPG competitors, Fergusson stated: "What you see sometimes, unfortunately, is that people kind of design themselves into a niche market, because it’d be like, ‘the way we succeed is being even harder core and even more complex’. That’s cool, but that’s not going to grow your audience."

Fergusson: " a mainstream IP because it’s easily understood. And then we try to design both approachability and accessibility into our game, so that anybody can pick it up. It’s easy to learn, but difficult to master."

Fergusson: "They learn from us, we learn from them, and we try to elevate. That little bit of competitiveness causes everybody to elevate."

Changing the naming structure of Seasons for Season 4 (Loot Reborn) was deliberate "to make the message really clear."

This game was never Diablo 2-like. It was always D3. About uber uniques - the most rarest unique in D2 aka Tyrael might was 1000 times more common than any D4 uber unique at the game release. Idk is he intentionally faking facts or just talking about things that he has no clue about, but this is seriously very strange comment.
