The First Mythic +20 Keystone of Season 3 has been completed in time today, made even more impressive by the +30% base scaling added this season.
Congrats to Nerfclap, Pepehands, Jfunk, Shakib, and Yodarr for completing a +20 Freehold in 30:20, with 2:40.465 to spare.
The Impact of Season 3 Scaling
In addition to being the first +20 of the season, we need to highlight the impact scaling had on keystone difficulty. Completing a +20 in Season 3 is roughly the same as completing a +28 in Season 2, which never happened--the closest we got was a +27 in Tol Dagor.
In season 3, the base Mythic dungeons were scaled by 30%, to match the player power increase of ~30 Item Levels. However, with the increased scaling of Mythic keystones, dungeons are scaling much quicker than player power and making completing dungeons much harder.
In this chart below, you can see how Season 3 dungeons are roughly as difficult as much higher Season 2 counterparts. For example, a +10 in Season 3 has the scaling of a +15 Keystone in Season 2.
