This is the Dreanai starting area and is located off shore of Teldrassil and Darkshore.

Azuremyst Isle is the Dreanei starting area from level 1-10. The new capital city "The Exodar" can also be found here. It is off the coast of Darkshore and can be accesed by the boat there as well. You cannot go to this zone without the Burning Crusade installed.

How do you get from Azuremyst Isle to Teldrassil? I thought about swimming but that'd be stupid and it'd take a long time :D

Great place for pvp. If your horde just fight though the small town, and head to the second questing hub for the dranei. Attack it long enough and some ones bound to head to the exodar and say some thing in trade.

"Heading out of Auberdine, it's the dock right in front of you. The docks to your left and right are for the boats that take you to Theramore and Rut'theran Village, respectively."
You got 2 out of 3 right. ;)
The one to the left(as you leave Darkshore) goes to Menethil Harbor in The Wetlands, not Theramore. ;)

Here is a quick quest progression guide for this great zone.
1-5
Simply do all of the quests given to you and you'll be ready to go.
5-6
On your way to Azure Watch pick up the quest "Red Snapper - Very Tasty!" and complete it. Sometimes the fishing spots will have Murlocks which can score you enough exp. to make you ding or get you really close to it. By the time you get to Azure Watch and you turn in your quests there you have dinged 6.
Red Snapper - Very Tasty! can be picked up at the location marked on the map
http://www.wowhead.com/?maps=3524:617547
6-7
Once you get to Azure quest you'll get two quests to finish... "The Great Moongraze Hunt" and "Medicinal Purpose" which can be finished at the location marked on the map (connect the dots to make a square shape which shows the area at which you should be moving around to finish this quest)...
http://www.wowhead.com/?maps=3524:512553598570599638492629
7-8
For this part you'll have to go to Odeysus Landing which is located South of Azure Watch and can be reached by following the road south of Azure Watch... You'll get two quests here... "Cookie's Jumbo Gumbo" and "A Small Start". Cookie's Jumbo Gumbo can be done by killing the crawlers moving along the coast. A Small Start can be done at the location shown in this map by find the two items needed, they are very close to each other...
http://www.wowhead.com/?maps=3524:589683
8-10
Now you can finish your other quests at Azure Watch (I'm gonna stop naming quests... ), soon you'll be level 10 and you can finish another set of quests and then you'll be sent to Stillpine Hold to do the next levels...
10-12
Now you will finish the quests in Stillpine Hold... Then you'll be level 12 and some classes will have Class Quests and the others can move directly to Bloodmyst...
I hope this was helpful for some...
---------------
I love this zone and I always level here at level 12... I never leave to level in another area since this area is so amusing and I can do it all in about a day since this is not Eversong Woods... This is an actual place to level and have fun...

This is one of the HARDEST places to get to if you are HORDE and trying to get the WORLD EXPLORER achievement.
I tied to get there like I did with Teldrassil. I has my very fast land mount on and took a Elixir of Water Walking. If you go between the shortest point between the main continent and Teldrassil you will get to "safe water" without dying from Fatigue.
BUT if you want to get to Azuremyst Isle and Bloodmyst Isle after. You cannot get there by swimming or even on a fast mount. You will die from the fatigue. Strangely enough you will also get fatigue in Ghost form, and will die AGAIN even though you are already dead (lol). In the end I tried this from different point along the coast of Darkshore and failed. In the end all my items' durability was at 0 and it cost me a good 30g to repair them. /grumpf
SO, I tried leaving from the Alliance docks on Darkshore. If you are Horde it can be very confusing which to take. There are three docks at the end. It's not like there is a freindly Alliance dock master saying "Hey, Tauren, my friend, if you are looking to get to Azuremst Isle, come aboard this ship! We have fish supper and burgers tonight, erm, berries, yeah that's it berries, you like berries don't you Tauren?"
Anyway, get on the Ship leaving right at the end of the platform, straight ahead. There are a couple of npc Alliance mobs (level 40s) guarding the pier, but you should have no problem with them. They appear from mid air too, so don't be surprised. The boat does have a couple level 75 guards but just step onto the middle and you will be fine, they won't aggro.
Anyway, good luck.
SUMMARY: Don't swim = DEATH, take the ship. :)
... by the way: BEAUTIFUL little Island there, but not as nice as my Mulgore. /moo ;-)

Edit: Wtf? I just noticed there is rares in Eversong woods to (the belf starting area). Did they just forgot to add some in Azuremyst?

For the Horde trying to get to Azuremyst Isle in 4.0.3, these are the only 2 routes that I know of atm (until we can fly there).
Elixir of water walking
or some sort of water walking ability will help greatly with both routes.
1. **Note: this route should NOT pvp flag you
Take the Flight path from Orgrimmar to
Zoram'gar Outpost
in Ashenvale. From there run north to
Lor'Danel
in Darkshore.
Use the
Elixir of water walking
to run North West from the point on the map linked above (45 degrees to the left). You should get there with just enough fatigue to recover before entering Teldrassil.
The dock that takes you to Azuremyst Isle is the
West
dock.
As a 48 hunter, the level 85 elite sentinels saw right through feign death, so I just ran as fast as possible on my mount to the end of the dock before dying. As a ghost, if you take the same route across the water you will make it to the dock before fatiguing out. Unless you attack the sentinels back you will remain unflagged and can wait on the dock at your leisure till the boat comes :)
2. **You
WILL
be flagged since this route goes through Stormwind
Take the Zeppelin from Orgrimmar or Undercity to
Grom Gol base camp
. From there it's probably easiest to also use
Elixir of water walking
and run along the coast north to Stormwind.
Coming from the coast you will be lead right to the
docks
that take you to Teldrassil. You WILL be flagged since you are entering alliance territory, so you will have to worry about other players as well as the 85 elite guards. If you do suicide in, again try to die as close to the boat as possible. Prepare to ghost walk across all of Elwynn forrest back to the dock.
Once on the boat and at Teldrassil, make your way left to the
West
dock. Then enjoy your ride to Azuremyst :)
To be noted:
Sentinel Brightgrass
(level 55 non-elite guard on the boat to Stormwind) WILL agro! If you are 80 this will not affect you much but as a 48 hunter, her knock back and net weren't fun :(
In short:
Teldrassil docks:
West
dock takes you to Azuremyst
South
dock takes you to Stormwind.
(There is an East dock but the boat does not move, purely decorative atm)
Hope this helps on your travels :)
PS. I can't wait till I can just fly in and avoid all this baloney! RAWR!

Right, thought I'd post the easiest way to get to Azuremyst Isle for Horde as there seems to be overly complicated ways on doing it. It is actually very simple:
Fly from Shatterspear War Camp in Darkshore to Teldrassil. Take the boat from the western port in Teldrassil and you will arrive in Azuremyst. Simple.

If your a bm hunter and want the cool looking core hound, steelpine hold is the place to go. Tame The Kurken. Its a much nicer looking model then the ones in Shadowmoon valley or cata zones.
Though best thing to do is take a day off where you can play all night and head to the cata zones for the rare hunter beasts. I found most of them, but they only roam at god awful hours at night. :(
Also wtf with the 90 guards around the newbee zones! So much for getting those exploration titles the easy way!

Alright, this is still correct. I'm on a PvE server and I actually didn't get attacked by the Nelfs on the boat I boarded from the far west dock in Lutheran Village or whatever it's called (I'm a troll). You just have to ride it to the dock just outside of the Exodar.

Notes for Horde Tourists
How to trip to Teldrassil and Isles? Simple: I flied with my mount from Lor'Danel in Darkshore over the low waters west of city. Heading Nortwest you arrive at Rut'heran village before fatigue kills you.
From there enter Teldrassil simply flying very high near the big tree until you find the zone border.
From Rut'heran simply jump on the boat at west pier and it will take you at Azuremist Isle. Bloodmist Isle is near at North.
Useful for "Extinguishing Kalimdor" achievement...
Note: At isles you cannot use flying mounts, only mounts or feet

There seems to be no way to get to the zone 'Ammen Vale' anymore since the recent patch 4.0. Five level 90 elites NPCs guard the only way in. After spending about an hour circling the island and dying enough times to get to 0% durability I have come to this conclusion. I now have a headache and I'm pretty bummed about not being able to get my 'The Explorer' title. Thanks Blizzard. :/

4.3 Update - Horde access to Azuremyst/Bloodmyst.
I just did the run on an 18 Goblin Hunter.
Water walking elixir is level 35. So swim from Northern Darkshore. Head straight across. You will drown 2 times - but take a few healing potions and you may cut that to just once.
Run back is from Darkshore - remember to overshoot your corpse, so that the fatigue meter resets to max, before rezzing.
The technique for getting on the boat is the same as it was from Darkshore, pre Cata. Drown under the end of the dock & rez on the boat. I recommend rezzing in the bow of the boat. So drown slightly between the dock & the bow if you can. However I drowned amidships & it was fine.
NOTE : ALERT : WARNING : There IS a pat. Rez when she is away from the bow. Then immediately run out onto the end of the prow. I did that with my 18 hunter & when the pat came back to stand in the bows as we left, I did NOT aggro her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are like me & want the queen spider (Zarahk) from Bloodmyst, she is level 19. So I tried to arrive as close to 19 for the tame possible, so as to have as much PvP as possible at 19, after taming her. I did overshoot by about 1500 exp though.
You will have kills and mapping exp as you cross the island - level 12-15 hostiles, so not huge amounts.
On the final approach - up the gully, I had 15 kills totalling about 2200 exp. Most of those were unavoidable - there were some I did go around & if you need more exp, there's plenty.
Why tame her ? Well spiders rock in PvP and I want the best I can tame at any level - so a named pet, the hardest to get to. I have another hunter spent 4 days at level 80 taming The Beast from Upper Black Rock Spire. I want the hardest to tame & the most fun :)
Took about 2 hours from Northern Barrens entirely on foot (No FP's). No real issues until having to swim drown - lotsa fun :)

HORDE
There's some confusion on this, so I'm going to make it clear. You cannot fly directly from Darkshore to Azuremyst. Anyone who tells you it's possible has never tried it. This has nothing to do with fatigue. You will hit an invisible wall long before fatigue kills you. Azuremyst is in a different world zone than Darkshore. It's like trying to go from the Plaguelands to the Ghostlands. They are right near each other on the map, but you have to pass through a portal (and load screen) if you want to travel between them. Even though they're close enough to fly between, they are not part of the same contiguous zone.
Here's how you do it:
Travel to Darkshore and either A) take the boat to Teldrassil of B) fly/swim/waterwalk to Teldrassil. Either way, your goal is to reach the western dock in Ruttheran Village. The boat that docks there will take you to Azuremyst. After a short trip and a load screen, you're free to do what you came for.
Alternatively, you can take the boat from stormwind, but that's quite a bit out of the way for most of us.
There may eventually be a time when these zones are integrated and you'll be able to fly between the two, but this is the best path in the meantime.

For Horde getting to Azuremyst Isle: Here's what I did. Fly to rut'theran villiage. you can just make it before you're fatigued. Wait for the boat to azuremyst isle, which is on the west side of the village. Then, fly down and land next to the captain, at the back of the ship. The captain will not attack you. The crew members will however. If you stay at the back, by the captain, you can take the boat and not ever have to die to get to azuremyst isle.

Speaking of the invisible wall, once I decided to take the taxi directly to Azuremyst Isle from Gadgetzan. As I flew over Rut'theran Village and headed toward the island, I got three flashes of a loading screen and an error message (can't remember what it said though) and I found myself flying back toward Kalimdor. I ended up flying underneath Kalimdor, coming out above ground over Azshara. I then proceeded to fly out to sea toward the Maelstrom but then started turning in all directions and back towards Kalimdor when I eventually headed under the sea (not underwater) where I got dismounted and did a freefall to my death.
I didn't even think about it when I chose it but, doesn't it usually not let you choose the flightpaths on Azuremyst when you are on the mainland?

Ok folks, i did it.. please NO FLAMES. if anyone finds an easier way, please post it. Otherwise here is how i did it.
First my stats 85 MM Troll Hunter ilvl - 389. FOR THE HORDE!
I read through the articles and tried a few ideas that failed miserably. I even tried going into BM spec to give me 143k (138k in MM) to no avail. Trying one suggestion to run up the hill like a bat out of hell gave me an idea though (i just got Rivendare's Deathcharger and my girl and i just hit level 3 in our two person guild so the %10 speed increase might help?) . I made it 75% up the hill and got 2 shot... dead. While in ghost form i ran back to my corpse and decided to run around (just to see what it looked like) and it dawned on me... you can resurrect PAST your body up the hill. So, i went back to my body as far up the hill as i could, resurrected and got killed instantly. But now my body was 90% up the hill. So repeating the process i could now resurrect %100 inside the vale and voila... discovered Ammen Vale.
If done right you should only die twice, then you are free to roam and get your other exploration achievements. Good luck all.

AS A HORDE:
You can actually make it to Ru'theran Village from Darkshore by swimming....you just have to die a couple of times along the way. I flew on my mount to the furthest northwestern most point in the sea beyond Lor'danel - just before you start seeing the fatigue meter (the topmost hump you see on the map). Then I began to swim - I was going as a hunter, so Aspect of the Cheetah was on - in the NW direction, though a little more N than W. I made it halfway before I died of fatigue. I landed back near the Ally town in ghost form, then ran back to my body while skirting along the edges of the non-fatigue lines. If you're lucky, you'll have some fatigue left, so use that to go as far as you can from your body then rez, keep swimming, and then die again. Same method again the second time, and I just barely made it in before the fatigue got me.
From there, I just took the western boat to Valaar's Berth.

To get there as Horde (guess this works for alliance too?)
Fly to the harbor (Rut'theran village) in Teldrassil from Darkshore
Find the center dock/harbor/boat (that one goes to stormwind). Goto the left one (west).
Wait a few minutes, boat will come, get on the back left corner of boat. will take you to azuremyst.
Watch out, you can't fly once you are there!

Now that BfA is here and the Horde have burned Teldrassil, higher level Horde players need to talk to
希多尔米
on the road south of Lor'danel
("Can you show me what the world was like before the burning of Teldrassil?")
to phase back and be able to use the portal
*
/ship to Azuremyst from Rut'theran Village. If you are facing the world tree, you want to take the portal/ship on the left-hand dock. There are high level guards near the dock entrance, best to fly around them if you can.
(Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isles are on a separate server, you cannot fly to them from Kalimdor.)
*
Right now the ships have been replaced with portals. I don't know if/when Blizzard plans to return the ships. There is a level 45 NPC on both sides of the portal. The portal says it goes to Exodar, for Horde it goes to the dock outside the city.
