does it kill the baneling? his magic race should prevent this and in the minfernal explode tooltip it excludes failsafe features.

Worth noting that, at least in the case of my baneling and assuming all banelings are statistically equal, this is actually less powerful than burrow. Overall pretty odd if you ask me given the significant downside of this attack.

equivalent of the attack "self destruct" from pokemon.

On live (7.3.5) as of March 7, 2018, this ability's damage does not match the tooltip. It only does 20% of the baneling's max health instead of 40%. At least if it was 40% it could actually see some use, but 20%? Utterly useless.
