If possible, I'd recommend keeping him stunned or silenced through the fight - He casts Mind Control, which if you're solo, will cause them all to be friendly towards you, thus out of combat.. So, him and his minions will instantly heal back up to full health.

Fel'dan and his demons prove to difficult all at once, but thankfully he's in a good position.

First arriving into his room there is a mob positioned before him, he needs to be cleared or else he'll get in the way of pulling Fel'dan. Even as a Rogue who can sneak up straight to Fel'dan i'd reccomend getting rid of this one.

Afterwards, Fel'dan is a spell caster so he needs Line of Sight while his two pets love to melee. Lucky for you the room you are in has a tunnel entrance perfect for using the LoS exploit, pull him any way you can (Spells, Exorcism on Pet, or just a normal gun / bow / throwing) and run back to the tunnel.

Once you arrive at the tunnel, stay at the maw of it and start damaging his pets. Fel'dan will walk slightly closer and go start casting once again, you can avoid it by going into the cave and hiding behind the wall stopping the cast when it reaches 100%. Thus you avoid sustancial damage while getting rid of his pets, afterwards the cast he'll run back to you so you need to go back in the open and he will start casting once again.

Rinse repeat and you should have barely any problem.

No problem for a mage. Sheep the Shadowlord, and the two ladies are as much as toasted.
Specced as fire, but ice shouldn't have much problems either.

There he stands 145 (6%) health, but when I try to attack him, I'm told "Your target is dead" ? :-S

I found this to be exceptionally easy as a fury specced orc warrior. LoS pulled the warlock in front of Fel'dan down the tunnel and burned him down. Then, for the actual Fel'dan fight, just charged in, switched to zerker stance, popped Blood Fury and Death Wish, then burned down Fel'dan quickly. The succies went down easy peasy after that. Level 53 at the time.

Either Salia no longer casts MC or I got lucky.

Soloed by a 49 twinked kitty druid: the lowest level Succubus went down first, insta-regrowthed and rejuv'ed after her, back to kitty, nuked Fel'dan, insta-healed after 5cp Rip, nuked his remaining HP, then the second Succubus went down easily - had to heal once but still had over 40% mana. No innervate, survival instincts, pots whatsoever.

Shadow Hold Map

The map is from WoWwiki, and I found really helpful. I got in there, killed Rakaiah, and couldn't see the path onwards through the dungeon. Went out and had to fight my way allll the way to the bottom again. Hopefully with this here, if you're doing both quests at once, you won't make my mistake :)

Edit: Having read a little more thoroughly through the comments here and noticing that the majority of strat ones are from patch 2.x.x, just putting it out there... he doesn't appear to MC anymore, as can be seen in his abilities tab above. He is nowhere near as difficult as he was when most of those comments were posted. So long as you either have a pet (i.e. hunter/warlock) or a good CC and clear the room around him first, you should be able to take him down without too much trouble.

to whomever might be interested, this is the Champion's Dreadgear set. the original cannot be obtained without the related vanilla-era feat of strength, but the replica CAN be purchased at Darkmoon.
