Entrance at 54 , 55.85 Top of a mountain. There's mist covering it.
North of Highpass. Has flight path for Alliance near it.
He is kitable and better kite him clearing some mobs for space before you attack him.
He is level 100 1200k hp or something close to it.

Has no one emphasized that HE is a level 100, that the cave is full of level 100 mean little bastard protectors, and you're going to die a thousand deaths if you aren't a 100 yourself?

Moves very, very slowly after you begin combat, leaving a trail of toxic sludge underneath that does quite a bit of damage even at level 100. Will also occasionally do a slow-cast AoE burst around itself. As melee I found it was pretty easy to kite it around its section of the cave, slowly walking backwards and DPSing.

The smaller slimes around it also dropped Vial of Reddish Ooze 一瓶红色软泥 which is the first Brawler's Guild turn-in I've seen so far this expansion.

This mob is not as hard as it would seem from reading other comments. He does have a lot of hp, but he does no melee damage. He leaves little pools of slime under him, so you need to walk backwards kiting him. He also does a castable ability called "Slime Burst" which shows its range and does ~75k damage. It's very easy to avoid. Other than pulling adds, he's a very easy kill and was done by my fresh 100 warrior in 570 gear.

Two words, don't bother, the respawn time is huge, the amount of adds to fight through is ridiculous for anyone under 100, the cave entrance and the path start are miles from the rare, rares if you count Gnarljaw, and the rewards are good but a couple of runs through heroics and you'll get better,and it will be easier and less stressful.

If you insist on camping these rares out of some sence of obligation or OCD, then below are the details.

If you've fought Blat in the Brawler's Guild, it's exactly the same strategy here, just keep kiting him backwards. The only difference is his AoE, just run out of it before he finishes the cast. I did this on my rogue and took 0 damage. I did kill all the smaller slimes before to make it easier as well. There also seems to not be any more adds.

Wait to mess with this guy until you get the quest 要塞战役：战地乌鸦, which delivers you right into this crater. One of the tasks in the follow-on parts of the campaign (热力迸发) is to take the temperature of a vent, and the vent is right behind King Slime.

As others have noted, the slime is easy to kill. On my shadow priest I cleared the small slimes and allowed their toxic mess to dissipate. (The mess killed my bodyguard, so don't stand in it.) Then I kited King Slime in narrow tracks back and forth. He moves extremely slowly so it's easy for a ranged to stay out of range of his AOE attack. It took me about 3 zig zags through his alcove to burn him down, and I was never close enough to take damage. He leaves a narrow and easy-to-see trail so it's easy to just guide him into laying down closely-spaced tracks so you don't use up the space.

This mob could be a possible reference to King Slime from the Dragon Quest series. Particularly Metal King slimes.

I had my Sister of Temptation battle pet out when fighting him and I wondered why she made a dying noise like a Succubus. It turns out that his Acid Trail she was standing in killed her, turning her from rare quality to gray, and she instantly despawned. I summoned another battle pet, Fel Flame, and Acid Trail dealt 20,000 damage to it (it showed on floating combat text) before it disentegrated and died like a Water Elemental. Apparently King Slime likes to kill your pets, too!

If you're after the Brawler's Guild quest drop the Vial of Reddish Ooze, you don't have to kill King Slime. I went there and he wasn't up so I thought I'd kill some stuff while I waited. I killed a few of the small Slimes (neutral mobs) which are in the area where he spawns in the chasm and they dropped the item.

Seeing this boss immediately reminded me of the boss King Slime in the 2D action-adventure sandbox game Terraria. Not sure if it is a direct reference to Terraria or another game (King Slime obviously isn't an uncommon name) but definitely the first one I thought of.
