My guess is that Travis Nichols accidentally spilled coffee on Chris Miller during work at Blizzard, seeing as all of these characters are Blizzard employees. And perhaps Kyle Radue attempted to help Chris by throwing water on him, or something involving him getting soaked.

Just my imagining of what these NPC's are supposed to suggest, though.

A friend told me that he talked to Kyle on Facebook (I even saw the message myself)

Apparently, Kyle and Chris are friends, and a designer just decided to have some fun and put them in there and made it interesting, with no real story behind it. The "Kyle Radue Taxi" spell was just for debugging

I don't know but it may have something to do with the gnome being drunk. I've heard of people going to get coffee after a night out.

If you Google "Kyle Radue" you will find him on Facebook as a member of the Blizzard Entertainment network. If you click his "Friends" list, you will find Chris Miller listed, among the likes of Alex Afrasiabi (the Lead World Designer), Chris Kaleiki (Associate Game Designer), and Tom Chilton (former Lead Designer).

Also of note is that the gnome, Chris Miller, is only at 30% health (1474hp), and he is a level 77. Kyle Radue is at a level 85. They're also both wearing dark purple-ish armor. At first, I thought it was meant to be humorous, as if the night elf was on the brink of throwing the gnome into the water, however, the partial health really does suggest a rescue of some sort. Curiouser and curiouser!

Hot coffee is sold in Shattrath, flavor text goes as far back as Burning Crusade and so wasn't necessarily a key factor in this scene.

Silly stories and personal quirks told between friends are immortal enough, toss them in a game and even the fans won't let them die.

So lets say these buddies go out drinking one night (or any number of nights with similar results)
Kyle ends up being the responsible one, carrying a drunk and passed out Chris over his shoulder.
Key points:
-Lower health but not dead. When they want to show someone beaten near to death, blizzard puts the character at 1 health (some exceptions notwithstanding). Chris still clearly has a good chunk of health. You can bet he's not feeling too good though.
-Coffee vendor nearby. Chris has had too much to drink and they need to sober him up at the very least so he can walk and stop puking everywhere. Most jokes involving someone needing to sober up fast involve lots of cold water and/or coffee.
-Taxi service. Just because Kyle isn't keeled over drunk like Chris doesn't mean he is in any shape to drive. As shown, Kyle is a responsible adult and heck, taxis are easier than driving paranoid and drunk.

All these clues add up pretty clear as day for someone who ends up in the "Chris Miller" situation fairly often. Gotta love good drinks and good-er friends *hic*

inside joke i bet, i always thought it was from the old redridge rogue's quest in which the old rogue trainers where involved with the storyline... but oh well

as for the animation it's a different taxi from the normal vehicle all players use. If the mount takes longer to load you see the owner of the mount is standing while holding the other player on his/her shoulder (probably one on each shoulder in 3 seater mount, haven't seen that yet though)
