it spawns from Pillar of Flame and when it bites you, you get Parasitic Infection (infectious lava parasites burrow inside of you and multiply in the cool linings of your entrails) and triggers Infectious Vomit after 10 seconds (deals 24375 to 25625 damage to all friends within 8 yards and expels more Lava Parasites - almost equal to wipe.).

and u need to avoid it to do Parasite Evening achivment.

it can be slowed and knocked back by all skills [traps, typhoons and so on).

Has anyone else noticed some weirdness with parasites failing to apply their infection debuff, despite jumping into a player, and disappearing as if they did?

I'm not sure why it happens, but it's a welcome occurrence.
