This is the third boss in Throne of the Tides. When you start the fight have tank pick him up. He will cast Lava bolt which does about 20k damage to the target, and he will random cast it as party members. He will also cast Magma Splash which is a high damage frontal cone, so face him away from party. He will continue to do these two abilities until 50%. At 50% The Mindless One will release him. It will then chase after the person with the highest threat, you have two options, you can run around kiting him, or you can let him mind control you. If you kite him he will cast Mind Flay dealing damage to all players and throwing out absorb magic gas clouds. If you let him mind control you, its a standard mind control. You will have over 100k hp and any damage done to you is done to The Mindless One. He will fall off whenever you get the mind control person to 50%, he will repeat this until he is dead.

In Heroic, the targeted party member must be quick to move out of the Earthshards.
As well, his Lava Bolt Must be Interrupted.

A Mage can spellsteal the Absorb Magic buff of the Squid.

My group wiped doing heroic and when we came back the gate was closed so we couldn't try again.

Question: If the player topping the charts is a druid, does changing forms remove the damage threat to the group (i.e. If I went travel form, would i be ineffective and thus not a threat to the group)

Important note: The above instructions are slightly wrong. The Unrelenting Agony spell is somewhat avoidable.

It looks like a mass mind flay spell. It is broken by getting the boss out of your line-of-sight.

Just hide behind a pillar when it happens. That's why the pillars are there. Once you are out of line-of-sight, you will not take damage, and this massively reduces the load on the healer. You can tell you are out of it when the shadow beam on you disappears.

The boss follows the tank while channeling the spell, so the tank can't avoid the hit. The healer can avoid it while keeping the tank up, if he lines it up very carefully. His other choices are to heal himself through it, or to drop a shield/HoT on the tank and then run.

The damage-dealers need to avoid the damage every single time. This fight is not a race.

This is all easier if the tank can get the boss up next to a pillar. That's tricky, though, because of the Mind Fog.

Most of the damage in the second half of this fight comes from Unrelenting Agony. Most wipes happen because the healer runs out of mana trying to heal through all that damage. Avoid this spell, and you'll win.

The only other major threat in this fight is Lava Bolt. It is essential to interrupt it.

I don't know whether my group was killing our team members too hard when they got MCd, or whether it's a bug, but after the MC wore off they died instantly (after being at relatively high health according to my UI). When I got MCd, it was just me and the tank, and when MC dropped off I was at full health. Anyone know what is causing this?

To solo Erunak Stonespeaker... dismiss your pet, minion, etc. He will not MC you if you are the only target.

Does anyone else think Erunak kinda sounds like old Gregg after the boss fight is over? maybe it's the underwater lounge and his accent.

Overbuffed with 7.3.5 and now one-shots every non-tank in the party with 熔岩喷溅 on Normal mode. Tanks, when repositioning because of 大地碎片, make sure to not turn him toward the group, especially the healer.
