He can be tough to grind up to from the road leading to Ashenvale. Make sure you clear around him, as well, since he paths between camps. Faily easy kill, otherwise. Drops a quest item for alliance.

Watch that you clear the area around him first, otherwise you'll have a lot more than him to deal with he pulls guards from half a screen away.

I found it on 39-36. I go on way ad when i saw gate a went around mountain and I saw next gate. In small are before gate was Dal Bloodclaw.

While it's possible he has a random spawn, he spawned in a camp at 39, 36 for me.

Also, having watched him die his re-spawn timer seems to be about average, around 5 minutes.

hhmmm...I just killed him twice and he didnt drop the skull,...it says a 63% drop rate ...weird im sure he had a head both times i killed him ! :( QQ ....Mmmm Now it's 3 times...still no skull .......mmm 4 times ..... ok 5 times did it...thats just dumb

he is currently on a rock inside a pond, at the very end of the cave.

Just a heads up for those doing the quest on Dal Bloodclaw - he's been beefed up a bit in Cata. I've done him twice now, on a 27 feral druid and a 26 combat rogue. He killed my druid in bear form, so I tried again in cat form and downed him with 10% of my health left. My rogue fared similar to my druid cat, with maybe 15% of health left, and that was even after using Ambush as an opener.

Note that my druid was 3 levels and my rogue 2 levels higher than this mob. He hits like a train, at least on leather, and especially when enraged. And I'm not a new player (check my profile!) so it's not a case of l2p. Treat this mob with respect particularly if you're squishy.

I couldn't kill him as a level 27 warrior (Arms) with no heirlooms. He has 蓟皮之肤 (which does a notable amount of damage to melee players) and then he has 激怒 which can kill you if you don't kill him fast enough.

Though the quest marker suggests he is near the entrance of the cave, he is actually at the very end by the water.
