Captain Falric and Captain Marwyn were two of Arthas' most trusted men during the Third War. When Arthas decided to strike at Mal'ganis, Falric and Marwyn were amongst the soldiers following him to Northrend.

After Arthas had obtained Frostmourne, and claimed victory against Mal'Ganis, he massacared his soldiers, and made Falric and Marwyn two of the first Death Knights of the Scourge to serve him.

They are apparently still faithful to him, and will be the two first bosses you encounter in the Halls of Reflection.

This is a wave fight like VH or CoS. 10 waves 2 bosses. First boss 'Falric' after wave 5 with a small break after boss before the waves start again. Then 'Marwyn' after wave 10.

The waves have a mix of casters and melee. We pulled them back near the door (Note: do not go too far back at the start because a door closes locking you in the circular room).

Traditional AoE tanking methods for the undead waves before Marwyn (and Falric) won't work because

there are almost always two ranged attackers, and
many groups won't have undead-appropriate crowd control.

Normally as a tank I'd handle such pulls using line of sight to force all enemies into melee range so I can tank them, but there isn't anywhere in the round room or the straight hallway where line of sight is broken. Or is there?

Solution: Have everyone hide in the east niche (there are two tiny spaces, about one person's size), behind Marwyn, then trigger the event. As long as everyone stays hidden, each wave will come to the party. Once the wave is there the party can spread out a little bit (it's hard to see enemies when everyone, friend and foe, is clumped up on top of everyone else); just make sure to hide once each wave is completely dead.

After the fourth wave, Falric will come; since the party is in the east niche you'll have a few seconds to prepare for him. Once he's dead, switch to the west niche for the next four waves and Marwyn.

A handy thing I found in running it in the last few days is that if you set up in the alcove where Captain Marwyn spawn for the first five waves you can los pull the mobs to you helps the tank pick up everything quicker and avoid unnecesary hits on your casters/healer.

After Falric goes down the group moves to his now empty alcove and repeats the process for the next five waves.

... when we did it, it seemed stupidly easier than standing in the middle.

Was quite surprised while doing the new random heroic PuG feature ...
but Marwyn is soloable as a Protadin.

To be nice, let's just say the team I found was there the first time and the remaining alive people died to the "void zone"-alike Well of Corruption.
From 75% to 0% I was there allone, but needless to say that I had the laughs on my side when he went down.

Thought it was worth sharing.

EDIT:
Protection is my off-spec and gear is roughly ilvl ~240 (with 4set ilvl 245 T9); was more or less in Stam-gear.
Only thing I changed was towards Seal of Light with keeping Sac.Shield up ofc.
Used a Healthstone and when he was about to die, LoH just to not risk the surprise (might not have been needed).
Arg.Def. didn't kick in, but I focused on steping out of the Wells a.s.a.p.

From what I've seen, at least on Normal mode is that there are 4 spirit waves before each boss.
Falric = Spirit Wave 5, Marwyn = Spirit Wave 10.

Also, side note, anyone else think Marwyn sounds like a snake oil salesman?

I think there is a bug with these two.
I found a pug today, and went into HOR, we stood in the right side, behing Falric. When we got out, nothing happened. They just stood there looking at eachother..

It's not a bug, you have to turn up your speakers and you can hear them whisper to each other:

Okay, back to topic, if no target is in LOS of a spirit when the event is about to initiate, it won't. Someone has to be standing at the top of the stairs to the alcove (if using the niche technique). You can readjust once the waves start but have yer tank in LOS to start.

Am I the only one who doesn't remember him from WC3? I know he have been in the cinematic movie but I am refering to the human campain right now.

I do remember a captain in paladin tier 1 being with Arthas but he was Falric, so who was Marwyn in WC3? A random mass produced footman?

if you listen to all of his wounded sounds then put them in any order, then it sounds like he's falling down a particulary painful flight of stairs. maybe that's how he died, trying to escape arthas then fell down some stairs. go check youtube to see what i mean.

Since I haven't seen it posted yet,

DKs can prevent application of Corrupted Flesh and Shared Suffering if they tick their AMS before those are applied. This can be a lifesaver if you're short on heals for a hit.

To anybody wondering, this boss can be disarmed! As can be his counterpart.

May wanna use that in your rotation, as it severely cuts his damage down. So prot warriors, keep that in mind!

Solo'd with my 85 Prot Warrior in 333 avg. gear. (non-heroic).
Straightfoward fight, specced into Blood Craze, imp victory rush, etc. Helps a lot.
A bit easier than Falric.
