This guy starts 死者的感激, the 暗夜精灵 version of the quest, only available on the Day of the Dead. Go to the graveyard in Darnassus (see map). Buy an 橙菊 from 查普曼, or a 一束橙菊, or get your old one out of the bank. Use it, gain 亡者之花, and suddenly you will be able to see lots of 暗夜精灵幽灵司仪s, 狼人幽灵司仪s, one 欢快的狼人灵魂 (not for you!), and this guy who offers the quest. He wants 悼念糕饼. Hungry! Buy a 食谱：悼念糕饼 from Chapman if you don't know it already. Head over to 菲尔丹 to buy 面粉. 冰镇牛奶 is easier to come by, but 德蒂希斯 is the nearest vendor who sells it. Head back to the graveyard, and behind 卡特琳娜 is a small brazier, with a blue flame. It's not labeled, but that's the Ghostly Cooking Fire, and it's required to bake your dead bread. Use a Marigold again, turn in the quest, and receive your 死亡木偶. While you're there, /dance with Catrina for 怀念逝者 (a nice costume change), and 逝者的聚会 if you don't have it already.

Other items you have collected over the years that allow you to see dead people (e.g. 超维度幽灵显形器) don't work here, nor does being dead yourself. This year, even if you've done this quest in previous years, you can do it again. Thanks to others above who already shared some of this info.

In order to get to this quest and receive the new battle pet whose name goes under Macrabe Marionette

1) Log in during Day of the Dead.
2) Buy some ice cold milk and simple flour. Milk from innkeeper (not Dalaran) and simple flour from cooking supplier. (Stormwind Trade District/ Org Valley, has got milk.) Flour is simply purchased of any Cooking vendor.
3) Port to Dalaran. This will work for all races.
4) Go to the graveyard just north of the staircase where you'd exit the Violet Citadel in the grassy area, you'll see some seasonal NPCs.
5) Buy an Orange Marigold and the Recipe: Bread of the Dead from the seasonal vendor there.
6) Learn the recipe. Be ready to accept and turn in quest at same time; you have only 30 seconds per flower usage.
7) Use the cooking fire beside the questgiver to make the bread.
8) Use the flowers to make the invisible dead visible. Some spirits including a quest giver will appear (Cheerful Dalaran Spirit).
9) Accept quest: The Grateful Dead. Because you've already made the bread it will change directly to a completion.
10) Turn in quest and receive marionette (appears as skull in inventory) as quest reward.
