Dead mob bodies take longer to disappear if not looted, he probably had some junk loot on his body.

Arra'chea Spawns EXACTLY at 49.19 every minute after he is killed. If he is not killed he will not re-spawn.

Also! Ghost howl walks by the spawn point!

just tried as a lvl 10 druid (no bear form yet) and i wasnt aware that he had so much hp, about 3 times a normal mob his lvl, caught me by surprise but just kept melee and healing myself as he does hit kinda hard and fast. Took a while but he died eventually.

Edit: yes the quest to kill him is lvl 14, but i didnt check the quest and just went in thinking he was just another quest boss, but realized he was much tougher for his lvl

just did it at lvl 10 as a druid just entangle root it until it dies takes a while but he will die.

Did this quest as a level 10 shaman (only trained up until level 8) This quest was a huge pain in the butt, what I ended up having to do was kite him with an earthbind totem. Although this quest is marked lvl 14, it can be done at lvl 10 if done correctly. Hardest part of this quest imo was finding an open area so you don't make new friends half way throughout the fight.

Easy as a 10 druid. Opened up with Wrath->Moonfire, threw myself a Rejuv, and popped into Bear Form. He had a lot of health, but he didn't do much to mine with a Rejuv and Bear Form up. Took him down pretty quickly.

Just killed him as a level 9 warrior only popped a health pot and threw a racial stun and i was all set. fairly easy mob so do not let the high health scare you away

Soloed as lvl 12 feral druid using wrath entangling roots and moonfire
use entangling roots to keep him at a distance and just spam wrath at him didn't take nearely and damage at all

He's a neutral mob, so hunters with track beast, look for the yellow spots and not the red ones.

I'm gonna do this quest now, hope I can find him. I'm a lvl 12 Hunter, so the battle won't be a problem. I already killed Ghost Howl when he was near the Windfuries at the base of Thunder Bluff. Never seen The Rake before. Is there something special about him? Is he tameable?

he may be fat... but he is really good at hide and seek...

soloable for lvl 10 warrior (kill mobs around him to get full rage before you go on him and eat up to full hp again)

Found him at his spawn at level 9 (tauren warrior) I killed a mob near him, Charged, Victory rush, and just beat him down no problem, and no pots. He seems easier now.

Killed him as a frost mage solo, just threw a health pot, a mana pot, a mana gem, kited him around a bit til i had to use invocation, afterwards i continued with mirror image (don't forget to pop your trinkets) and let my water ele beat him up. got the killing blow with my staff, because 14 mins of hard fighting really drained my mana. should be even easier with lvl 85, i suppose.

Soloed at 8 lvl druid. Just kept it in Entagling roots all the time to stay in range and then used Wrath. Works perfect on any controllable melee unit)
The main task is to find him. As said above, just walk counterclockwise by the map)

For anyone that may not believe the it is possible to meet The Rake and The Ghost Howl at the same time as fighting this guy let me tell you this, i just was following Arra'chea when i saw The Ghost Howl and killed it and by the time i caught up to Arra'chea a few feet away i encountered the Ghost Howl

Pre Wotlk you could, however this looks like a troll post due to the fact hes saying that he used mirror image, water ele. This means he must be level 80 so he could easily one shot it.

Hurray! After spending hours searching for him, and finally finding him with help from these comments, some retarded level 80 belf pala comes along, sees me, and kills him to piss people off. And right after, I get swarmed by cougars and wolves. Yay!

Now a rare-spawn mob, I found him walking south-east of the Winterhoof Water Well. Despite not being an elite, I was awarded 900 non-rested xp at level 7.

Took him on with my Level 6 Druid and was granted a mere 1.436 XP (over 1/3 of a level) defeating him wearing 3x Heirloom items (10/10/5%). He dropped a 6-slot bag as well.

This rare used to be a the objective of the final quest in the Rites of the Earthmother questline, given out by Cairne Bloodhoof. He also used to be located in the north of Mulgore instead of the south.

Stand by Morin Cloudhoof, and exercise patience. He walks right by, large as life and a lovely mottled slate color. Wish I could have *him* as a mount. Or a pet. Lovely lovely beast.

As of patch 7.0, he can now be tamed by any hunter. He is NOT an exotic beast! Marksman, Survival and Beastmaster hunters may all tame this amazing kodo!

I came here to figure out how to find her. For what it's worth, she does indeed spawn near the SW tip of the path, but she definitely does NOT walk clockwise. I walked along the path counterclockwise for 20min before she spawned before my eyes and I followed her counterclockwise along the whole southern edge of her path before taming.

For those who find these spawn markers and a different set from wowwiki suggesting the spawn point is near Thunder Bluff, these are the correct points (as of Legion).
I found Arra'chea walking counter-clockwise very near the cliffs separating the starter zone from the rest of Mulgore. Now I can be reminded of how great kodos are all day... though they do destroy your pumpkin farms.

You can also tame Arra'chea when you are a Hunter. It is part of the Scalehide family.

I can confirm that when tamed as a Hunter, Arrachea is slightly bigger than other Kodos.

As of patch 8.1.5, Arra'chea retains his original name when tamed. Apostrophes and all! This was a deliberate change that Blizz made to allow certain pets to keep their unique names (names with spaces, apostrophes, large letter count, etc).
