You need to click on the defender's portal on the side of the main doors to let you in the building, while your faction has control as noted above.

You can still reach Elder Bluewolf if the keep has been won by attackers, the keep door will be down. If the keep has successfully been defended, you have no chance unless your faction controls it.

Just dropping in to say that you can of course now fly in to get this, and don't need to wait for the control to change hands.. just have to run for it after until OOC so you can fly out again.

He's inside the Wintergrasp Fortress at coords: 49, 14.

Your faction does need to own Wintergrasp. So dont QQ about it, join the fight and pwn so you can get your achieve!

Confirmed, He is inside the fortress where entrance to VoA is. Elder can be accessed while opposite faction has WG. I flew in right after some horde player. He is located on left side of the room when you fly inside. On the same side is the portal to The Violet Citadel in Dalaran which saved my butt :)

how does one "fly in after a horde" when the portal is the way you get in? I may sound like a noob on this one, but being on a server where the Horde out number us 3-1 it looks like I'll never get this achieve...

Since low levels cannot use the portal in Dalaran or get the flight path, I managed to get in to Wintergrasp by running along the mountain range in Western Icecrown (above the Avalanche area of Sholozar Basin and below the Fleshworks.

With some corpse running and spirit guide hopping, it turned out to be a relatively safe area. As long as you die in the Wintergrasp zone, you'll be able to talk to a spirit guide and teleport to the main fortress graveyard, thus avoiding all the big, bad monsters that want to eat your face! :x

Of course, this assumes that your faction has Wintergrasp since you can't get in if it doesn't.

as of 4.0.3, your faction doesn't need to be in control of Wintergrasp in order to reach this elder
Just went with my BElf pally, and Wintergrasp was under control of the Alliance, no problem at all getting in and out.

I just flew in and got it even though the alliance was in controll and i am horde. Just fly right in the door, get it and get out fast before they attack you.

here's what i did: i used the door glitch, then talked to the guy, went out tele, here nelves: go to a distance and shadowmeld, or kill the guard. then fly as high as possible, and run away

I beg to differ. I just talked to the elder inside WG fortress while it was held by opposing faction. If the doors have been compromised in the last battle you can, indeed, get into the fortress.

And then I used the portal to get to Dal :P

Just saying, it can be done.

You can do it without your faction be at control. Fly by the door, carefully, to not agroo the mobs, talk to the elder, then walk till the edge to qet mounted again, then fly away. I did this way, being a horde, when the local was ally controlled. So, it's possible ;-)

I can also confirm that the glitch does indeed work. Took quite a few attempts but I eventually made it. I fell all the way to the bottom and had like 1k health left but there was nobody inside. Got the elder and headed straight to Dalaran through the portal. :)

Holy $h!t, this bug worked for me! ...im an 84 tauren, so size/lvl doesnt matter. The trick was to jump right when the mount appeared. It will put you a little higher up/inside the stone. Do it one or two more times while jumping/running forward, and it will push you inside.

It was Horde controlled at the time, but I dont think size, level or faction matters to get this coin.

This probably is gonna get downrated, but in my honest opinion, for the sake of the glitch mentioned above, would it not be better to join the queue for wintergrasp, go do something else while your waiting, join the battle, win it, get the honor and such and simply walk in and speak to the elder? Its far more rewarding and after all, its FOR THE ALLIANCE!

The bug worked. First tried a raptor mount, but it kept dismounting me. Then tried a wolf mount. Kept jumping until the graphics bugged. Just like the video.

Everytime I've been online we've never had WG. I've tried to take part and win it for myself but on my server with a massive Horde over population it's been impossble.

I was up against 6 Hordes on the last battle. 1 versus 6!

Hmm, neither glitch works for me. The front wall I just can't get in through, the trick under the back..now when you go under, it dismounts you and you can't remount ><

Gonna try it with pygmy oil later, see if it makes a difference.

The wall glitch previously mentioned in this post is still working as of 22 January 2012, I did it on a belf whilst mounted on the deathcharger, just watch out for the fall.

WG was alliance controlled but I flew in straight away with no problems (except from the few alliance running around trying to kill me)

It may be stating the obvious to all the PvPers out there, but for those who have never fought in Wintergrasp, you can fly into the fortress, which is to the north, and at the north end of the fortress there's a courtyard with a building on the north face with a very large set of doors, and a guard either side. If your faction controls the fortress and the doors are closed, there's a teleport on the right that will get you in.

I spent about 20 minutes trying to get the wall glitch to work, but had no luck. So I went and got a winterfall firewater, and was able to get the glitch to work in about 2 minutes.

If you are having trouble, as an a male Undead, you will probably need to buy/loot a firewater or some other size buff to glitch the wall.

I had to use Baby Spice with my Tauren Paladin in order to get far enough in to use the wall glitch, but otherwise it worked as described.

Of course, there had to be at least one pain in the ass for every world event. This guy is it, noone on my side has done wintergrasp since cata started, queued a few times, never more than 3 people. It is pretty sad that the only good way to get this one for some people is via risking a ban :/.

Confirmed! The first video works, even for Tauren! For a while I thought she was too big, but I got it to work with my Argent Warhorse. Ran head-on into the corner, mounted, and bounced, bounced, bounced forward until I was in! Very excited!

Just portal in through the defender's portal outside the main gates. Takes you right to him. Your faction has to have control though I believe.

I was lucky. I zoned in and it was Horde controlled. Flew right up to the Elder and voila!

The glitch described here is easier to exploit if you use 诺格弗格药剂 or any other shrinking item, tested today with a troll.

WG Fortress Glitch

In my opinion this is the easiest way to get into the fortress when you don't control WG and the door isn't broken down. No luck necessary.

Use the defenders portal on the right side of the door. Portal in, honor Elder, portal out & go on your merry little way.Most easiest way :)

Personally I just used a 汤面餐车 and it did the same trick as the ground mount glitch shown in the commented videos. Go to the same corner, have your back against the wall, use it then "leave vehicle". Popped right behind it on my first try!

Another Reason to hate the CRZ. I was in Dalaran checking the status of Wintergrasp and saw our side won, so I race over there and upon entering, I get phased to another realm where we lost.

I was able to get this elder even with Wintergrasp being in the opposite faction's control... the doors were still open. I just flew in past the guards and got it - I did have to kill the 2 level 88 guards in order to mount up again but if you HS or portal you wont need to do that.

Just used the wall glitch to get in. It was really disorienting, what with half the graphics not showing, and I'd never been there before. Got dismounted and barely survived the fall (413K) but got my coin :)

With the problems in Wintergrasp introduced in 6.0, I don't know if it's possible to get this Elder this year. No NPCs spawn in Wintergrasp before, during or after the battles including the Elder.

Went to go get this for the achievement, Wintergrasp was Horde controlled, and the door was open, so I went in. but the NPC was not there. Logging out, and back in, made the NPC show up.

Ok. I have been twice now...Logged out, logged back in...taken down the npcs, and got whacked by an Alli (no the battle was not in progress)...and I still can't see the Elder? Help, please nicely :)

I was having trouble with the NPC not showing, so I did as others suggested and logged out and back in. The NPC (and everything else) was restored and I was able to knock this one out.

Just be careful exiting if your faction does not control the fortress; you might be killed like I was, haha.

Much easier for a dwarf if you walk into the corner then use a Elixir of Giant Growth.

You can get to him any time the doors are locked to your faction, by flying to above the third golden band which runs along the front of the Temple above the doors. Now land, but do not dismount. Walk to the corner, under the overhang, on the left, with the snow. Watch this 22 second video, on Youtube, to see what I mean.

Then, dismount. You will be inside and it will look quite odd. When you move it will clarify. You need to then jump down to the floor. The point here is to be mounted in that corner, which puts your head inside, so that when you dismount, you are placed inside.

It looks like the glitch to get inside has been patched, or at least attempting to get on a gnome in that corner now just dismounts you, instead of glitching you through the wall.

The wall glitch does still work. Go to the lower eave, into the left corner as far as possible, and summon a non flying mount. Jump as soon as the mount is summoned, and it should not be dismissed. Then dismount and walk forward, and the screen should be a bunch of fragmented pieces of building. Then walk to the right and drop down. HOWEVER, either have slow fall or over 240k health or you will die from fall damage. Then you can grab the elder!

I want to confirm for people flummoxed on how to get to this Elder in 2016 the glitch method in this video still works! You will get disconnected under Wintergrasp but don't panic. Just keep loging in each time and eventually you will be teleported inside the keep near the Elder. There is a portal back to Dalaran inside so there's no need to engage with the NPCs. Do not try to do this while the battle for Wintergrasp is underway, you will get disconnected and not be able to log in until the battle is over.

While I don't condone cheating, I think it's pretty unfair for people like me on servers where Alliance controls Wintergrasp 24/7 and won't (or possibly can't afford) server or faction change to be told 'too bad, no celebrating the holiday for you!' And I suspect the fact that this exploit has miraculously not been patched since its discovery in 2012 that someone at Blizzard agrees :)

Got an easier way to do it if your factions is losing, it works for monks only.

First: Jump to a different realm in which your faction dominates.
Second: Use the portal from Dalaran.
Third: You will be send just infront of the gate, spam your keybinding for Roll WALKING BACKWARDS while the gate and base is still phasing.
Fourth: ?
Fifth: Profit.

I don't like to cheat, but Wintergrasp days are so long gone now, don't see the point to restrict them today.

Now in 6.2.3, if you are having trouble with the ICC OoB strategy because of dismounts and/or your toon is a fat Tauren like mine, you can try this:

When you get behind the initial wall portion and go to fly inside ICC and get dismounted, just fall a bit and then use a Goblin Glider Kit to glide down into the right place.

Make sure to land on the surface by the square hole to mount up before flying to the elder. The glide speed is a little fast, so be wary of that when you use the glider.

As long as there isn't currently a battle going on, it appears the doors to the keep are just open. So regardless of which faction controls it you can just fly right in.

So we're in patch 7.3 as of right now....

Okay! This took a lot of trial and error. But the ICC "glitch" still works. I watched several YT vids and realized I was trying to go in at the wrong section, but it all looked the same. Was gettin' hella frustrated, and thinking well it just doesn't work anymore.

Where you go in will be very obvious, as there is a literal opening in the corner. If you cannot see through to the other side without actually hitting the wall, then you're at the wrong corner. If you are facing the front of the citadel, before you ever enter, you can find this spot on the balcony to the right, but still on the front. When inside the square hole I did get disconnected about 3 or 4 times. But then I finally rezzed right near to the Elder, just out of site. Then I took the Violet Hold portal to Dalaran that is also right near him. I'm a lvl 76 Blood Elf Pal if that matters to anyone, and I couldn't walk in bc on my server it's always controlled by Alliance.

I used the same video as previously listed to get to the correct area for rezz. And then I used a diff user's YT vid to find a clearer way into the balcony in the first place. Sorry I can't link it, says my acct is too new. Search YT for "How to get into WG Fortress's Main Room" by Ben Black

If the area is in the hands of the opposite faction and you can't get in, take a 菠萝形沙发垫 or one of the other three, fly above the main gate to the right (still facing to the raid entrance) there is an edge/niche above your head. Fly in there, use the pillow and sit on it, now stand up (you should be bugged through the top of the gate now, can be hard to see the corner of the toy) walk a little bit straight/left to the raid entrance and you will fall down to the room with the Lunar Festival NPC

Went there today on my Horde Hunter, was Ally controlled, was gonna drop down and use the teleporter, but didn't have to...the main door was wide open! Must have come just at the right time after the battle ended and the doors and walls didn't have time to reset.

Wintergrasp was Horde controlled when i "landed" in there.
I followed the advice from someone a year ago and i will repeat his words because they worked for me:
Face the door.
Shiny column to your right.
Click on it.
You're in.
Do the same to get out.

There is actually a portal in that area that will take you to the Violet Citadel in Dalaran.

I was able to accomplish the wall glitch by using the Sandstone Drake. First player uses a small race to become the Sandstone Drake; I used Vulpera. The second player mounts up outside. First player goes to the deepest spot. Second player dismounts, and jumps forward, then immediately falls through. You'll need to slow your fall, or use a Soulstone to rez inside.

I have just done the glitch into the wall to get inside Wintergrasp despite the filthy Alliance control. It does still work. Although rather fiddly XD

Updated for 2021. This is just poor game design. Your faction has to actually control Wintergrasp for you to access this Elder. If you are Alliance it could be tricky. Best to save this Elder for last and park your character in Wintergrasp and wait for your faction to win. Logging into a character of the opposite faction and interacting with this Elder does NOT grant credit account-wide.

You have only 3 options to enter in if the place is controlled by the opposing faction:

1.) Wait there to finish that battle and control the place for the next battle. Also, try to gather up other players from your faction to do this.

2.) If you are an alliance player, turn WM off and go the place again, most likely you will see it is alliance controlled. Likewise, if you are a horde player, go back to Orgrimar, activate WM, and come back. Most likely you will see the place is horde controlled.

3.) To trigger a glitch on the building. To do this;

a.) Stay on the closed doors you wanted to enter in, face it, mount up and fly upper sections of the closed door.

b.) Once you are up, you will notice a snowy edge on your left side (by facing the closed doors), land there, and dismount.

c.) Press ''/'' to enter walking mode first, then approach and force to move the very corner, the highest peak of this snowy edge, and stop.

d.) Now you should mount a small ground mount, for example, a wolf would do fine.

e.) Immediately move forward after mounting up and this will trigger the glitch, move more and more in, you should notice you are still mounted inside the glitch and you will meet with Elder Bluewolf.

Actually, you don't need to Alt+F4 or something to trigger the glitch.

If you fail, you are moving too late or trying a big mount.

I didn't try this with big races like Taurens or Kul-Tiran Humans so I am not sure what the result will be with them.

Just got this on my Dark Iron Dwarf whilst Horde controlled the zone. I've done the wall trick for the past few years - other comments and videos describe it already. However, my mount just wasn't sticking around. If it keeps dismounting you over and over when you're trying to glitch through, just spawn a chair toy of some kind when as far into the corner as you can. Sit on it and hey presto, you're through. I used one of the bean bags from Winter's Veil personally. Hope this helps!

Mounts don't work at the time of posting this. Stood in the correct location. Variety of sized toons, and a variety of big and small mounts. Every time the result was too large for the space then I was automatically dismounted.

Use a chair/cushion toy, while your face is buried into the corner. Guaranteed success.

Fly above the entrance to the little balcony looking ledge. Go into the corner, and mount up. If you immediately get dismounted, move a bit and mount again. It works well with a yak for example, i guess anything big will work, since it pushes you through the wall. Keep jumping on the mount, facing into the corner. Once you can't see the wall anymore, dismount, and keep jumping. You will jump through the wall pretty quick.

Could NOT get this to work with any mounts. I could sometimes get myself kind of clipped through the wall, but could never get to the other side. I used the Blue-Covered Beanbag, which is a cushion you need to PLACE on the ground. It doesn't automatically spawn underneath you. So I placed it as far into the corner as I could and ezpz I was through.

Show up with horde char, the place is alliance controlled (for some bizare reason I was able to use teleporter and get to the elder)
Show up with alliance char, the place is horde controlled (can't use teleporter). Place keeps being horde controlled, reads comments about warmode, goes back to Stormwind to toggle on warmode, this place is now alliance controlled, the doors are wide open, head straight for elder.
Show up with alliance char, this place is for the first time in 10 years actually alliance controlled. Doors wide open, fly straight to elder.
Show up with alliance char, this place is horde controlled (an hour 'till next battle). Head to Stormwind to toggle on warode, this place is horde controlled (10 mins to next battle). Go do something else. For the next 24 hours, regardless of warmode on/off this place is always horde controlled. Spend too much time trying to get the wall glitch to work, fail. The battle begins, you'r either stuck on the ledge or you can go hang out in the courtyard until battle ends and the horde regains control of this place.
Show up with a new horde char, alliance controls this place. Head to orgrimar and toggle on warmode, alliance controls this place.

Blizzard, I am begging you. Move this stupid ass elder outside the goddamn fortress or let the fortresss be accessible when there's not a battle in progress
