Anyone else notice that his name appears differently between the link to his section of the halls of lightning (General Gjarngrin) and the name they give the mob (General Bjarngrim)?
Which one is his name... And can someone fix it so that they are both the same...

There is an Arc Weld debuff that occurs on party members throughout the fight: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?spell=59085. The key thing to note is that this debuff only does damage when you move. So if you have this debuff, stand still, and you won't take damage.

In heroic mode the adds become unsheepable and he does a temp magic reflect.

Normal: either CC adds or burn them then to boss,
Heroic: burn adds quickly then onto boss :)

pull when his 30% damage buff is gone.
fast heals when he whirlwinds and all melee out.
healer pay close attention to tanks hp when he is zerker or batt stance.

he'll also intercept players at random (ignores tank i think).

just dont stack, fast heals :)

My group got the achievement today on Heroic. He didnt hit all that much harder,well it seemed like he didnt. Group makeup was DK Tank(Me),Unholy DK Dps,Feral Druid,Resto Druid,DPS Warrior.

Careful when you do this on heroic - despite what the above poster would have you believe - if you get him with the damage buff, he hits REALLY hard. (then again, he hits really hard to begin with)

Only reason I did the achievement was because my healer was feeling suicidal and insisted on trying it. I then watched my health bar bounce up and down and up and down for 3 minutes or so while we took the guy down. Thankfully he only used battle stance once during the fight, and was in defensive for a lot of it.

I dunno if it's just me, but battle stance is where I take most of the damage...

just used off-tank strategy (heroic) and it worked great.
main-tank pulls boss and keep aggro on him and one add, off-tank (DK in our case) aggros 2nd add and dps take him down. once he is down they all go to 2nd add.
main-tank keeps boss away from group so they doesn't get hit by his whirwind like thing. once adds are down all go and take down boss.
make sure you cleared enough space as this fight needs one.

Theres an achievement for killing him with the charge up, I tanked through it, pretty easy if the melee dps can avoid the WW and the casters don't nuke while he has his reflect up.

2 manned this guy on regular me (80 tank) and 78 holy pally. Other 3 group members died right at start. Hes fairly easy with a decent healer and tank

Interestingly, the first syllable of this Iron Ymirjar's name, Bjarn, is also the name of a rare spawn bear in the Dwarven starting area, Bjarn.

Given the connection between the Titan's creations and the dwarves (rumored to be amongst them), and the similar context (a powerful general and a powerful wild bear), perhaps the word "Bjarn" means something in Titan that was passed down into Dwarven?

General Bjarngrim can be an intimidating son-of-a-gun the first time you fight him, but I've come up with some nice handy dandy tips that will help your group... well, provided your group's tank is a Warrior.

As most people will tell you, it's best to clear the adds surrounding him first, because they make the fight far more annoying and it's hard to do the moving you need to do when your double stacked with the welding effect they can cast.

General Bjarngrim has three stances, as you will also know. The skills have already been listed so I'll go into details about how to make the battle easier per stance.

Defensive stance is the easiest stance to deal with. He deals less damage here and also takes less, but there's no nasty tricks up his sleeve for non-DK melee (and I say non-Dk for the next part). He is however a nuisance to spells, because he will periodically put up spell reflect. Caster DPS and Disease-slinging DKs, proceed with caution.

Battle Stance is pure pain for the tank. This is his hardest-hitting single-target stance, and he will spam a painful Slam to great effect. I do not know if his Slam can be interrupted, but I've never needed to do so for this fight. It is far better to proc your defensive abilities during this stance than to wait for him to go to Berserker, because...

Berserker Stance is a stance you don't want to be around him too long in. The MOMENT he switches to Berserker Stance, all melee dps needs to run towards the healers and ranged. The Warrior tank will start moving Bjarngrim away from the group. His melee attacks are faster, but they're not the big threat. Usually within 5 seconds of entering Berserker, Bjarngrim will cast Bladestorm, and this has a nasty tendency to rip melee dps apart. Better to halt melee dps away from the boss than to die trying to burn him down through the Bladestorm. Once Bjarngrim enters Bladestorm, the Warrior tank will now target a close group member and Intervene to them. While it is true that the hits can be dodged, blocked, parried or a complete miss, it's better not to risk some unlucky spikes that put additional burden on your healer. The group will retreat slightly from the approaching boss and get back in there when Bladestorm subsides. The Warrior will of course Charge back into the battle.

Done this way, the boss is a simple task of tank n spank, and you will be much safer than sorry, to be sure.

If you're planning to Solo this place, it's a good idea to take out all the little mobs on the slopes around him, since they charge him up. All around, not just the one side. He can still charge in the middle.

You can't solo him when he's charged. Okay, you can. But you shouldn't risk it. He hits hard anyway, and being charged up makes him hit 30% harder.

Also, you should take out his little lieutenants first. They don't go away on their own when he's killed, and they hit fairly hard too, and they can heal him. Sadly, they respawn if you get killed.
