Yes the "poucing on you" is scary the first time they do it, but no big deal.. These are excellent to farm for Nerubian chitin, for leatherworking mats.
25% drop rate and fast enough respawn..

Farmed for 30 mins, on a lvl 74 dk in quest gear. Relatively easy kills, I was hit capped for the lvl difference so it didnt really matter. I can see an 80 going through these much faster than I.
Three other people passed through to do a quest there, no skinners so I could skin thier kills.
No other farmers in the area.
20 Chitins
2 Arctic Fur
~40 Borean Leather
25 Offerings (pretty useless)

My dk is also a herbalist, and I picked up 13 Talandra's Rose's.

Not bad farming for any skinner, highly recommended for a grind when you get bored of questing. May be better cash grinds at 80, not sure, but this is great for mid-70s.

Note: The mobs 'leap' at you, so this grind is easier for classes that do not kite; hunters, mages, balance droods, priest, locks etc may have some trouble, depending on playstyle.

Killed 136 of these to skin for Nerubian Chitin. 15% drop rate, ended up with 21 of them after about 35 minutes. Easy to kill them as a level 80 enhancement shaman.

I found this a great place to farm chitin! Start at the northwest corner of the area and work your way all the way around. By the time you get back to the starting point they are already respawning. It's great to aoe ^_^.

If your the passenger of a 2 man mount and they aggro you and use their jump attack on you, they glitch out and glide through the floor at a high speed away from you
