just soloed as prot warrior, with 1060block value (ZA+BOJ rewards geared, not T6) 17k hp
not very hard, just debuff him with TC and demo shout always, use shield block when it's up (with a 2120 block value you basicly neutralize the dps of this mob for the full duration of shield block), spam shield slam as much as you can, your dps matters in this fight
use concussion blow/shockwave when they're up again for minimize damage output of the mob
PS: haven't used cooldowns at all, but i suppose using shieldwall/laststand makes the fight even easier

He does Gigantique blow or something this does massive damage, just make sure while you kill him you keep on moving it doesn't matter if you just move a small inch or a few yards as long as you keep moving his cast will get interupted, this way i was able to defeat him solo as a 72 Feral Druid

Pretty hard to solo as ret, I died 4 times trying to go slightly toe-to-toe with him (kite in a circle using Justice, problem was he STILL hits me a lot). My gear is only badge rewards and *!@#. There is a reliable way to kite him as ret though:
Use Seal of Light and Judgement of Justice and KEEP STRAFING in a pre-determined path (scout this out before pulling) while using Judgement and Divine Storm whenever you can.
When HoJ is up, switch to SoC and do as much damage as you can.
And of course, use FoL when Art of War procs from Divine Storm. For this purpose, Libram of Furious Brows proved to be very useful.
Use HoF when he hamstrings you and PRAY you don't get dazed. Divine Shield only when HoF is down and you get hamstringed.
Basically the only damage you'll be doing is Judgement and Divine Storm, with the added damage when HoJ is up. I was able to bring him down to 30% (with DS still up) when someone invited me to their party and they finished it off for me :P

Solod as a 75 warlock, using my felgaurd to tank. Just had to make sure to keep the felgaurd topped up on health at all times or the flame breath knockback could be deadly. Also had to make sure not exceed aggro, so it took a very long time to kill, but hey I managed it, was a good challenge. :) Voidwalker would probably be slightly easier to pull off. Just used health funnel, drain life, corruption and CoA.

It was posted that guards won't help you fight him while kiting - however, when I kited him to Moa'ki Harbor, the Warriors there did attack him. Since they have 44000 HP each they could help a great deal, so long as you do enough damage to claim the kill.

He is rootable. When I found that out I had an easy time as a Druid. Make sure you just nuke->root->nuke->root. If you try to stand toe-to-toe he'll do a lot of damage very quick. As a boomkin not using treants can actually help to stop roots from breaking early.
He is also stunable and able to be knocked back.

Disarm works on him and makes him hit like a little girl. Could 2-man it easy for sure (I think the quest labels him a 3-man'er)

This is soloable as a Death Knight, but it takes a bit more work than just killing a normal elite.
First off, your best friend is Death Strike, as always. Spam it every time it's up. If you run low on HP, you can actually Chains of Ice this guy and bandage up. Use Icebound Fortitude every single time it's up, don't wait for your HP to drop low.
The most important part, NEVER STOP MOVING. You have to continually walk backwards in order to solo him because his Gigantaur Smash ability will tear you apart, however it has a very very small range, so by moving backwards you'll get out of it before it goes off.
It took me 3 tries. First time I didn't move, used potion, got him down to 26k. Second time I didn't move, sac'd Ghoul/used potion, got him down to 9k. Third time I moved, didn't use any cooldowns other than Gargoyle and IBF, and won with ~100% HP.
Hope that helps.
Edit: Also ensure that you have Frost Presence on, otherwise he hits like a bloody truck.

Gigantaur is easy to kite to the harbor, snare can be usefull for that purpose. I used the guards mostly at the harbor (for my dps) as a Blood DK. The Smash is really painfull ;)

Just solo'd him as a level 75 Unholy DK. I was in Blood Presence with Unholy Aura, but he runs fast (or just has a large melee hit range) so if you're Frost or Blood I recommend you to be in Unholy Presence. What I did was Chains of Ice and Icy Touch kite him to Mao'ki Harbor (for the guards) whilst keeping Horn of Winter up and throwing Death Coils in when enough RP. If he manages to Hamstring you, use your PvP trinket.

Soloable by a 71 prot pally, but very difficult, he hits like a truck. You need to clear a path through the Wolvar then kite him to the harbor. Once in the harbor, the warriors will help a lot, as they will take aggro when you shield. You need to use all your tools for this one, but you can be successful.

hard to solo, really hard, as a warrior.
level 72 prot orc war. what I did was backed up continually.
i started the fight with concussive blow and a full rage bar (beat up a nearby wolvar if you need rage).. concussive blow'd, stacked sunder, then hit shieldwall and started to back up as he became unstunned, keep demo shout up on him. as soon as shield wall falls off, hit shieldblock. once shieldblock falls off, Tclap and disarm. revenge heroic strike spam as much as possible. keep an eye on your stun DR, as soon as its up, pop him with concussive blow and bandage.
also watch where your backing up to, i pulled him to angmar hoping someone would help... no one did : /
it would probably be smarter to kite him to moa'ki harbour, seeing as the guards actually help you there.

i did this with a group as a protadin using seal of light--i was the tank, and we had no healer. by the time he was dead, i was around 80% health, and hadn't used any cooldowns. i had pretty good gear (mostly northrend stuff from q's, dungeon, and a few AH greens). it is my guess that i could have soloed him with a bit of difficulty (read: LoH or bubble+bandage), and at any rate the quest should be quite doable as two-man.
rather a pain in the rear to find him, though--he has a fairly long patrol route and moves quickly.

By the time I got to the harbor he was down to about 40% hp.

Frost mage here; kiting to the Harbour works wonders.
He paths up and down along the north of Mo'aki harbor where the puppy men are. There is a small cliff that overlooks what is his furthest south path point and is closest to the harbor.
Clear the few wolvar in the way between you and the town. When he comes south from his patrol and reaches the cliff frostbolt him and high tail it to town. Keep refreshing frostbolt before it falls off. By the time you get to town he should be at 5 Winter's Chill stacks. Guards will start whacking him.
Drop a water elemental and use his ranged frost nova. If you have the Deep Freeze talent this is a good time to use it. Quickly blow Icy Veins/other CDs depending on your specc and shatter crit him. Use your own Frost Nova (max range, arctic reach talent helps) and repeat.
Kite him around if you wish, or Ice Block and let him go nuts on the guards for a bit. You should've done more than your share of damage at this point. Win at 0%.

Solo'd as a 75 Feral. Was quite challenging.
My best advice is to just whittle him down while using Bash at half health. I'd suggest using Healing Touch a lot, because if you're caught out of bear with just some HoTs you're gonna pay.
Also, Nature's Grasp helped hugely. If you're close to dying, just cast it, move away and heal completely up, as it'll root him for a long time.
I tried moving constantly to avoid his special attack, but it didn't seem to help.

kitable to moaki harbor by a resto/balance druid. i was level 75, and i waited until he roamed somewhat close to the harbor, and then i just rooted him and moved back towards the harbor, keeping moonfire always on him to whittle him down. it's important to get him down enough so that you can still get the credit.
when i got to the harbor i didn't lose the aggro, but i was able to try and keep him rooted enough as well as heal myself through his attacks until the guards finished him, he was probably at around 50% when the guards aggroed
be careful about players who want to 'help' you kill him. the first time i tried it in my feral spec but died when i got to the harbor, the second time i did it in my resto spec, but as i was entering the harbor some human warlock decided to dot him all up and send a felguard in, making it impossible to keep him rooted, so i died.

Just summon Voidwalker, keep Health Funneling him until he's at a decent amount of threat, and then Soulshatter, and start nuking in-between the Health Funneling and he will go down easily. :)

Soloable as a 73 resto shaman. The only trick you need to know is how to jump kite (jumping, turning with the mouse, hitting frost shock, and turning back around while in the air). Remember, since your DPS is low, you might not get the credit, so kite him around a huge circle first, to get DPS in, then go to the village with the walruses and let them help.

I kited him, freezing him when i could and getting a shatter combo off. 2 things to be careful of - the random wolvar around where he patrols, and the fact that he hamstrings you if he gets too close. Blew Unbreakable Armor first, then IBF, then UA again when it came back up. Death Strikes were my only FU rune option, though an Obliterate or Howling Blast may have snuck in. He never got me under 40%.

Soloed as 75 Feral Druid (Cat spec in bear form).
Basically at first I didn't realize he could be stunned, I simply used Bash by accident. After that I tried rooting and it was really a piece of cake. Finished at about 60% hp.
Mangle, Demoralizing Roar, Barkskin, Savage Defense and Nature's Grasp are your friends.
Basically refresh DR whenever it's about to run out (or he does hit like a truck), Barkskin on every cooldown, Hope you crit, Nature's Grasp on every cooldown (first one after you're at about 50% hp or so) and hope you crit for Savage Defense procs.

Soloed as a 74 Retribution Pally, in crafted tank plate, heirloom chest & shoulders, and sword & board (no dungeon gear). Ran Seal of Vengeance, judged light. Had to fire off every AoW proc as Flash of Light and ended up using Divine Shield about halfway through to refill HP to full. Took almost 3 minutes. Seal 5 stack damage bonus and its DoT was 35% of my damage, so I was glad I used that instead of Seal of Light or it would have taken a lot longer.

Easy soloed as a 73 MM hunter, with S4 and T6, with an average of 10k hp, just keep slowed with snake trap, concussive, Chimera (with the concussive barrage talent) and aspect of the cheetah until you're in a good distance to change to Hawk, and ir your running out of mana just change to Viper but keep Snakes and concussive always, if it gets near, put wing clip then deterrence and Disengage, a piece of cake if you do it right :D
Good luck :)

With all the people saying they've solo'd him here (and having watched a 73 Blood Death Knight solo him before me), I figured I'd try and have a go. I'm a 72 BM hunter with a Rhino pet specced to tank, which has 10k HP, 12.4k armour and Blood if the Rhino 2 for the extra healing for mend pet.
I did everything but he simply smashed my rhino into the ground. Poor Boris was taking 1k hits and the Gigantic Blow he did ripped at least 40% of his health off in one hit. Mend pet ticked for 700 but it wasn't enough, he simply couldn't make it. I'd use Last Stand, Taunt, Intimidate, busted out every cooldown I had available and he still got curbstomped. Having seen the Death Knight do it, I thought it would be a piece of cake.
He's very fast as well so kiting seems trivial, so I just feigned and had to feed him some Frostberries to cheer him up. This is just a note to BM hunters; I'm either doing something very wrong or it's just not possible to bring him down solo. Grab a group or ask a guildie.

Hard stuff for 75 lvl warlock (affliction). Threat management was real hell even with soulshatter.(WTB demo offspec)
If you have major problems with threat i suggest you to keep only 2 dots up UA/Corruption and health funneling like hell the VW. Really easy if you manage to outheal the explosions. Even this way it will take some time to do 100k dmg with 1-2 dots. So get some chips.
If you aggro, Sacrifice-soulshatter and don't generate more threat, if you're lucky enough you will lose aggro before dieing by the blows.
If you have demo talents this would be like a walk btw.
EDIT: If you have low spell damage, chances are you'll be send flying to moaki harbor

Soloed as 71 Arcane Mage.
Keep slow up, and do damage with arcane barrage. If you get a Missile Barrage proc and Blink is ready, use the proc and Blink to get back to kiting distance. Blink away from him at max distance after renewing Slow to get a full evocate off. Same for Conjure Mana Gem.
Use PoM to sheep any adds you might pick up while kiting. Preferred kiting path is down a cliff (Slowfall!) and towards+through Wyrmrest temple. Then keep going around there.
Took about 5 minutes.

Use your stoneclaw totem couple of seconds before aggroing him after that put out all of your totems plus your fire elemental totem (yes your feral spirit too) and use BL, then you will get very good heals, very good dps, and such so you can then finally nuke him down. But watch out! After you have messed your buddies that you have solo'd him, be prepared that he will respawn fast. I found out the hard way=(

74 demo/afffliction warlock. Chose my Voidwalker tanky build (27/38/0). Went a bit crazy with buffs due to the fear generated from these comments. :) Priest fortitude on me and pet + Greater Arcane Elixir + Mighty Thoughts elixir + Shoveltusk Steak.
Started with Curse of Weakness and Corruption. Let my pet build up plenty of threat before trying to occassionally Drain Life to speed up the kill. Gigantaur hits like a truck. He was hitting my pet for 600+ for normal melee swing and 1800+ for Gigantic Blow. Needless to say this hurt. So, I was spending a lot more time than usual having to heal my pet rather than judging when to Drain Life. At 25% target health, I started Drain Soul and it was done. Fight took about 2-3 minutes.
Note, I made show to start the fight at the highest elevation point of his path near the Snowfall Glade Wolvar hostile village so as to make sure I kept kiting to a minimum and no risk of my pet being flung off a cliff.
This is one of the group quests which I couldn't do on my pally or dk (which I levelled long before comments on strategies were available), but I could on my warlock. Love this class! :)

His Gigantic Blow hit me for a little less than 2k on plate, which is not a lot considering I'm a lvl 72 Blood DK tank with 14k health, until I realized that I was floating in mid-air off a nearby cliff. Fall damage was 9k. Between that was Wolvar adds I was promptly transformed into a red stain in the snow.
I came back, positioned myself with my back towards a hill at the south end of his patrol route which had no Wolvar presence. Poor thing didn't stand a chance.

75 Survival hunter with concussive shot glyph found this to be no trouble at all. What I did was make sure Concussive shot was up at all times, and use aspect of the cheetah. He can't catch you, heck half the time I was running back into his range. Spam dots, so in this case serp sting/black arrow, or just serp sting for MM/BM. Also, switch to a DPS pet, and TURN OFF GROWL. You don't want your pet getting raped, they'll add to your dps.
Now, as for kiting. I managed to drag him halfway across the zone without additional aggro. How, you ask? Wait until he gets to the very southern most part of his patrol route. There's almost zero mobs there, just aggro and flip it to the east, down the slant. Then, go straight up with the cliff on your left. You've got half the zone to keep going north for, and no one to stop you. Good luck!

Confirmed to still be soloable on Warlocks (Lv74).
Demo spec.
Got my DoT's on him then summoned an Infernal to aid my FelGuard.
He hits hard, so I wasn't able to directly attack him, I had to focus on healing my FelGuard and keeping DoT's up.
Went down after about a minute (The Infernal timer ran out about 20 seconds before it died).
Same story for all the Horde Wanted quests in this area, using the same tatics.
Although for all apart from Gigantuar, the others do such low damage your DoT and Direct damage will be more than enough to keep your FelGuard fully healed.
Solo'd in 4 parts of the Felweave PvP set and the rest blues from Coldara and green pants (Gorge's Loungewear still) along with a Crystalheart Pulse-Staff.

It took me three times but I finally brought this jerk down. 74 Death Knight Blood. My first two turns I was very close but Wolvars would run in and ruin it. So I picked a spot I knew he'd path by, set the table by killing everything around the area, and just waited for him to amble by. When he came in, it was all about blowing my cooldowns. What I found was really important was focusing less on survival, and more on going on the offensive. Heartstrike + 3 diseases hurt this guy like a mug.

I JUST managed to Solo this freak as a 72 Hunter. It was insanely hard, I took down Dreadtalon and the Mage alot easier.
I used my Corehound, (Beast Mastery Spec).
Put Hunters Mark on him, put AotH on and sent Corehound in, waited for 5 stacks of Frenzy before popping Focus Fire, Rapid Fire, Bezerk, Bestial Wrath and Ancient Hysteria, then spamming steady shots, all the while keeping Mend Pet up. Even with Mend Pet up at all times he killed my Poor Corehound :'< So I had to pop Heart of the Pheonix, Feign Death to drop the aggro onto my pet and Disengaged. Amazingly, he killed my bloody Corehound again, so I switched to AotC, used Concussion shot and kept backing off, until I ran into a Wolvar -.-' Dropped a Freezing trap on him, and carried on kiting, disengaged over the hill, concussion shot and managed to get two Kill Shots on him, he died,
EVENTUALLY
and I looted him... Guess what? The fat brutes not Skinnable... Doooooooosh...
Next time I'm gonna nuke the area on my main, push the Wolvar into extinction... will make this alot easier.
...
Now to go solo Appendis... >.>

He's a bit of a pain but I soloed him as a 72 disc priest. Just keep up your Power Word: Shield and Flash Heal yourself whenever you get low. It was difficult as I pulled some of the furries onto me but it's possible.

I've managed to solo this as a level 73 blood/frost DK, but hell this was one of the hardest fights i tried to solo yet. This took me around 6 attempts before i succeeded, so don't expect a walk in the park when doing this.
My tactics:
I summoned a ghoul, made sure horn of winter was up, tried to spam death strike as much as i could, kept my diseases up and
i kept moving around as if i were in a pvp match.
Please be advised that
keyboard turning is not an option in this encounter.
If you don't keep moving you're most likely not able to survive, since he casts an attack which has a huge knockback and does some serious damage. (hit me around 6.5k in blood spec on plate) It's advised to dodge this at all costs. If you're unlucky like i was, you get knocked back when falling from a cliff or tossed into some random npc's (the wolf men). This happened to me twice.
I had to use a potion on 75% of his hp since he hits so hard. While constantly watching his hp and mine, i prayed for my blood worms to pop up, so i got healed a bit again. To survive i had to pop anti magic shield together with bone shield at the same time around 65% of his hp. Luckily right after that, my blood worms procced so i got some hp back. When he was at 40% i had to use vampiric blood to keep myself up, and luckily after that, i got blood worms again. When he was at 25% i had to sacrifice my ghoul to keep myself alive, and burned him down to 0% hp after that.
I remained with a staggering 450 hp left.
Don't expect this encounter to be solo'd easily, not even with a DK. Its a fun encounter and really challenging but you have to be patient.

Soloed on my 73 arcane mage, used images to tank at beginning, dpsed him down to about 1/4th till images where gone. Then i kited him using slow and frost nova while using arcane barrage when possible after that, got him down to 1/8th health. After images had cooled down i recast images, let them tank, and attacked him till he died.

Just took him out easily with 71 Hunter (BM). Simply launched my turtle at his big ass and went to town on him. Opened with rapid and beserker rage (Troll). Funny to watch him punt the turtle like a football while I'm dps'ing him down. Just keep tapping buttons and backing up. Pretty easy fight. Had all heirlooms and bought purple epic 70 pvp gear for the rest.
Just keep your pet healed. Not sure why everyone keeps recommending a DPS pet. My turtle held aggro pretty well and just sat there biting and never went less than 75%. *Shrugs* Anyway, easy fight IMH. I can definitely see why a solo class without a pet might have a hard time. He'll outburst you fast. If you're a hunter there really is no excuse for not being able to solo this smaller version of Kirstie Alley. (that's right, smaller) All in all, I love killing these BIG 3 because it gives close to 100,000 exp quickly. Anything to move out of Northrend ASAP!

Soloed this as a disci priest, level 75. After like 9824 tries.
Shield yourself, DoT him, and cast penance, mind blast, and holy fire at him.
Refresh the DoTs when needed, and use pain suppression/barrier to avoid being killed.
Always shield yourself and heal if you need with inner focus + flash heal, so that shield debuff is decreased.
Always use power infusion at the beginning of the fight, so that you can use it again another time.
When you're low on mana, wait until he throws you away, then shield, shadowfiend, and hymn of hope your mana back. You have to do this with your back at some cliff or wall otherwise you'll be flinged all around dragonblight.

Just killed him in his new post-4.3 non-elite form. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
