Well, the bad news is there are only 7 Sand Turtles, so if you plan to grind them you are in for a short wait as they respawn. The good news is that there is nothing here that can kill you (only plenty of neutral Landing Crawlers) so you can take quick afks after you kill all 7 to wait for them to repop. It's a nice lazy way to skin and get chilled meat while leveling an under 70 pet while typing in chat to friends/guildies. I really don't recommend it as a grinding spot for chilled meat, however, as the drop rate seems to be lower than the reported 40% in my experience.

This is currently the highest level Turtle that's known to be tameable in the game. So if you're heading to Northrend or Skulking around Outland at level 70-ish and want a Brand new turtle pet that won't be 5 levels lower than you, this is the one to tame.

It's strange how no one has mentioned the fact that these turtles are TINY. They only come up to about waist height! Dunno if the size stays when tamed, but if it does, these would make a really unique pet.
