Apparently when he's not out scouting for the Chieftain, he moonlights as the Winterhoof camp's rat-catcher.

While you're fighting the Winterskorn he'll cast Demoralising Shout, which will also afflict any nearby rats - once the Vrykul's dead, he'll chase after and finish off the poor rat as well! ... and aggro any Vrykul he happens to run past.

He must take his job very seriously.

Clicking on the emblem while he is summoned will not dismiss him. However, if like me, you wish to do these quests without him, reloging will get rid of him.

I don't know exactly when they changed it, but clicking on his emblem will now dismiss him. Much more convenient.

Warning, this guy is suicidal! I mean it! Three times not has he rushed for a far away mob dragging about 5-10 other mobs with him forcing me to vanish! I mean for crying out loud! Why in the would would he want to do that?

If by chance you lose the Winterhoof Emblem or (like me) got fed up and just threw it out, you can get a new one from Chieftain Ashtotem http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=24129 in Camp Winterhoof.

Weird bug for me on all his quests.

Found him wanting to turn in Skorn Must Fall! but he was running around like a maniac. Somehow turned it in. Then he was gone.

Logged out/in.

Now there's a few of him; all other player's guardians. They all have the ! quest marker so I was able to pick up the next three. Now I have no where to turn them in.

There are three ? quest markers on the minimap. None to be found. Guess I'll go elsewhere and try to turn them in again later. I want my 33k XP!

SOLVED: You can summon him with the Winterhoof Emblem.
