He has an unbelievably SHORT spawn time. Killed him and not even a minute later ran into him again.

I couldn't find a quest for him. So he appears to be one of those mobs that make you jump, and spill your tea all over the keyboard, when you are trying to do a little quiet questing.

He'll be used in an upcoming quest for Netherwing reputation. You'll need a drop from him, as well as ten Knothide leather, I believe.

At level 70, even if he fears you into adds, you shouldn't have any real difficulty putting this guy down. High DPS classes may very well have him down before he even gets to fear.

Anybody who isn't questing for their netherdrake mount may as well ignore this guy: He's not for you, hardly worth the effort of killing;)

But because Tyrantus is level 71, it cannot be tamed come patch 3.0.x tentatively scheduled to be released one month prior to WotLK, as you will still be at most level 70. Instead, you will have to tame an Un'goro devilsaur and level it from 65 to 70 which takes some time. Shame.

It should be noted that his special abilities are lost once you tame him. I was hoping to tame him for his terrifying roar and gushing wound but don't exist once tamed. He turns into an ordinary devilsaur. The same with King Krush.

while having bad luck finding Ironhide I just tamed this guy instead since they have the same models and saved me some time flying around trying to locate Ironhide

it shrinks by a lot.i could see him easily from flying and i had to kill the tons of raptors around him.once i did i began to tame.no problems at all he was easy.but then he shrunk to the size of a mouse.i was very angry about that.

Tyrantus can be found in the pink biodome containing the raptors. Enter through one of the rings in the dome. He does stand out by being much larger and darker-colored than the other raptors. So if you don't see him on first pass, rather than looking harder, just fly around a bit and wait for him to spawn.

I am confused! Nothing new there. :P

I see that some people have tamed this guy and the description of him states that he is tameable. Yet when I try taming him I get the message that he is not tameable. Anyone know why that would be ?

tameable- but annoying so i let im go. its the animation and the noise they make. i guess i like using furry hunter pets better

I recommend going after this guy, rather than this one if you are looking to tame a Devilsaur with the black skin model, as it is much easier to find.

There is nothing like a BIG devilsaur to make you ~~pee your pants and spill whatever your drinking/eating~~ the moment you see him/her
