Hits pretty hard. Also does a rip that does decent direct damage and a bleed that ticked for about 89 on my Warlock. Spawns when you break the egg for this quest: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10111

Was easy to solo since it's fearable but moves very fast. I juggled Curse of Shadows and Curse of Recklessness to keep it from getting too far away while feared.

Soloed last night as a 70 arms warrior, using an Onslaught Elixir (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28102) a Juju Power (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12451), Bloodboil Poison (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31535), a commanding shout, one heavy netherweave bandage while the windroc was under Intimidating Shout, and Last Stand. Also had the Haala damage buff on. (No healing potion was used, I used my last one on my first attempt.)

Kept 5 Sunders up at all times, along with Improved Thunderclap and Demo Shout. Am specced to provide an extra 4% damage with bleed effects as well, made sure to wait for first bleed effect to finish before Intimidating Shout and bandage, then reapplied Rend. Finished her off with about 1500 hp left, then my last stand finished and I died to the final tick of her bleed ability.

In summary, much easier with one other.

Just soloed as 70 fury warrior, did sunders and kept thunder clap up, battlestance on for the whole fight. No pots needed, used bladefist's breadth to increase dps.

Soloed as a 65 Prot Pally - used BoSanc and holy shield constantly, used retribution aura, judged and used seal of wisdom. Used bubble + bandage whenever it was up (3 times during the fight), used holy light whenever it was not. Used 2 major healing potions, 3 heavy netherweave bandages, and one EZ-thro dynamite II, just for good measure. Used lay on hands at about 30%. Took a long time, about 6-7 minutes.

It can be solo'd by most of class, if you have any root / snare / stun, you'll beat it. You'll maybe have to heal or use pots / bandages, though, since that bird hits pretty hard.

Soloed as a hunter 67. Freeze trap + Scare Beast are your friends. Battle lasted 20 minutes. Resurrected my pet once.

Start fighting with mend pet..when your pet is almost dead call him back. Mob walks into the freeze trap. Wait until freeze trap is over. Scare beast. When he comes back repeat.

Easily killed solo by a 67 Enhancement Shaman, just let the Earth Elemental tank and heal it while dpsing the bird down.

"Hits pretty hard" is a stupendous understatement with this bird. Even in dire bear form, it took her very little time to chew through my health. Fortunately, she doesn't seem to be immune to any roots, snares, or other such effects, though I hear that she moves fast enough that snares won't keep her from catching up with you.

Soloed as a 65 feral druid by opening up with a pounce combo, then switching to bear form before she came out of the stun. When I got low on health, I bashed her, put her to sleep, and healed myself, waiting the full duration of Hibernate for mana regen before dropping back into bear form. The battle took several repetitions of this tactic to finally wear her down; she hits extraordinarily hard (even for an elite) and has a formidable amount of health.

Soloed with a 67 BM hunter.. moves faster than cheetah, so you cannot kite very well. Used a pet with lots of heals, and freezing trap/heal bandage. Took a few minutes and wasn't too hard.

One of the best pets I have ever had.

When I would farm I would always use a Boar because charge would gain about 1.2k aggro once he hit the target.

Never thought to use an Owl but I thought what the heck I'll try it. I have to say the screech, dive; claw combo really holds the aggro well. as well or better than a boar because an owl does more DPS.

Dive sends the bird in nice n fast like charge. There is no 1 sec stun though so you need to let the bird get to the target then fire. Screech must cause aggro somehow because this crazy bird gains crazy aggro. Mine has about 1.2k at the first contact.

I hate the flapping as much as I hate the pop a gun makes and screech makes ALOT of noise and would prob drive your tank nuts so I would use this pet more for solo and PVP. Driving casters crazy sounds good to me =p

They only eat meat so fishing is out...seems dumb they should eat fish.

So if your looking for a good DPS pet that can hold good aggro you may want to try out and owl.

Soloed as a 66 Enhancement Shaman.
Used a Mad Alchemist Potion, a Fel Blossom, and summoned my Earth Elemental at the end of the fight (~15-20% Windroc Matriarch life ).
I had to heal myself a lot during the fight and I was also, obviously, under Shamanistic Rage.

Highest level "black skinned" owl that is solo-tamable in the game (Gutripper is not tamable without a healer/tank and is immune to traps).

Simply get on the nest, break the egg, jump down, lay a freeze trap, wait for her to come in range and begin taming.

I completed the quest way before and find out after that it was tamable. Im at 66 now, still using King B. sadly :(

Found this very straight forward to solo as a 70 Marksman Hunter. Misdirect pet and keep mend pet up. Aimed shot, serpent sting, and a typical arcane/multi/steady/autoshot rotation. Took agro once, feigned death, and robert's your mother's brother.

Just beat her solo as a 66 BM hunter, but you have to be on your game. Alternate between Scare Beast and Intimidate to keep heals on your pet (I used a turtle tank), avoid using Stings so that you get the full fear duration, and don't give her an excuse to hit you more than once. She crit me for 1305 at one point in the fight, I was not amused.

Solo'd as a 66 Enhancement shaman. Popped Grace of Air, Healing Stream and Searing Totem up before the fight started. Got full mana again and waited for the bird to attack. Used Earth Elemental Totem to tank him while I smashed all my cooldowns. Make sure to frequently heal the Elemental, he will be able to tank her this way. Repeat nuking/ healing your elemental and you will be good to go.

Good for warlocks easily soloable if you know your class!

I did at as a Demonolgy level 64 Warlock:

Immolate
Intercept(Felguard)
Curse of Agony
Corruption
Death Coil(When it attacks you)
Fear(Use as quick as possible)
and keep it feared and DOT's topped up also Incinerate every so often use Life Tap and Drain Life and Health Funnel(Soul Link Badly damages pet)

Soloed as a 65 Frost Mage, but she nearly killed me twice.

As soon as she became attackable, I popped out Icy Veins + Trinket + Water Elemental.
Freeze and Frost Nova works so you can get away and use a bandage/easily, but she hits *really* hard (1600 crit on cloth) and has a huge life pool.
I had to Cold Snap and pop IV + WE again to kill her, also used Mana Ruby.

Long and hard fight, but definitively soloable.

Just solo'd this as a 66 protection paladin, but I had to pull out everything I had. Divine Shield, Blessing of Protection, Super Mana Potion, 2 x bandage and Lay on Hands.

Soloed as a 66 Balance Druid

Just waited for her to attack, summoned treants, rooted, insect swarm, starfire, and wrath the rest...Repeatedly rooting and used innervate to gain mana..Took a while but managed to do it.

Soloed as a lvl 65 Deathknight with Blood spect. This beast was tough and I had to use almost all of my extra spells, but I pulled through.

Attempted this 5 times as a 67 Tauren Frost DK, failed every time, first 4 were close and the 5th I had at 5% and used Hungering Cold to bandage, then a heroic 66 Human DK showed up, broke my Hungering Cold and killed me. Skill as usual alliance.

Soloed with some difficulty as a 67 BM hunter with a ferocity pet. Make sure Heart of the Phoneix is off cooldown as well as lick your wounds, you'll need it.
Burn her down and keep mend pet up, use LYW and HotP if needed. She hits hard, so watch your pets health VERY carefully, if your pet dies you're as good as dead.
Good thing the graveyard is so close by! :D

Soloed on a decently geared 64 ret paladin, using a 2h.

Used Seal of Command and Judgement of Wisdom and just hit judgement/CS/DS whenever they were off cooldown. I had to heal with Holy Light a few times, and bubble once when I got hit with an unlucky string of crits, but for the most part I was able to keep myself up with Art of War procs.

Soloed as a level 66 Ret pally. Popped all my cooldowns, divine shield when I got low the first time and holy light to heal, kept spamming SoC, Judgement of Justice, Crusader Strike and Divine Storm along with consecrating continually, when I got low the second time, popped a health potion then lay on hands when I was almost dead and under 20% I spammed Hammer of Wrath with Crusader Strike and Divine Storm.

Solo'd reasonably easily as an 66 blood DK (54/0/3).

Burned all my cd's (vampiric blood, mark of blood, dancing rune weapon) and spammed heart strike/death strike while keeping frost and blood fever going.

Hope this helps any fellow DK's leveling up.

Soloed on a 64 balance druid. Kept her rooted and dotted up with glyphed IS/MF. I popped trees at the beginning, forgetting she'd just oneshot them since they were the only targets in melee range, but it worked out fine in the end. I hit wrath/starfire every now and then for the spell damage debuff.

Soloed as S.Priest 68 with 450sp. I think it was easy. just start with shield so that you can use it when you need again. Then the dots, mind blast, when you get oom use dispersion, shadowfiend, etc. and fear if needed ;)

Easliy soloed as 65 affliction lock. Just keep up Haunt, Unstable Affliction, Corruption, Curse of Agony and Fear her whenever you're not casting any dot. The few times she comes near, Howl, Coil or Sacrifice. Piece of cake! :D

I did it as a lvl 67 shaman, put down wrath, air, mana spring and the earth elemental totem. U will win !

P.S I died at least 7 times trying to get on the tree and 1 fiting the bird! :P

Soloed as a level 66 holy paladin. I started the fight with about 1500 mana. >.< I spent about ten minutes meleeing with Seal, Judgment, and Blessing of Wisdom so I could have the mana to Flash Heal myself, and let her kill herself on Ret Aura.

required pretty much tho since my pet only was lvl 63.(green for her) and HotP bugged

I started out with mending pet and then made him attack
nuked pretty hard in beginning, took aggro and feined. my pet attacked her then I had to use lick your wounds. after my pet again had lost all his HP again I scared beast and mended him for those 20sec. Then soon he died and I used HotP but a bug came and when I planned on feining again so that he could get aggro, my pet bar went gray, and I couldn't command him to do anything.. so there I was with 10% left on her, and I had to kite her the best I could. With some lucky crits I managed to kill her, even though my pet was green for her(couldn't get good aggro) and hoTP bugged.

Just solo'd as a 66 combat rogue. Opened with cheap shot, got up to 5 cps before using a kidney shot, used killing spree while it was stunned, did a few sinister strikes before using adrenaline rushing and popping evasion when it got out of the stun. I didn't have to use any healing pots because I dodged most of her attacks, but I would imagine they would be useful because she hits really hard on a rogue.

Bearing in mind that I had 2 x boa haste trinkets, 2 x boa hammers, boa chest and boa shoulders, AND I had 40 ap food, a 60 ap elixir and a 120 hp elixir on me when I did this so if you can't afford all of that stuff it's probably not a good idea to solo this.

As a frost mage, pop your elemental then kite it with Frost Nova and Cone of Cold. Blink and Frostbolt if there's time. The remainder of the time, just spam Ice Lance. Always keep Ice Barrier up in case he gets a bit close (hits for ~1k). If it goes to hell, Ice Block and let your elemental grab his attention to get him away from you again while waiting for Frost Nova or CoC cooldown.

Did not use Mana gem, Evocation or any serious cooldown and still came out with about 70% hp and 1k mana left.

She hits extremely hard. As a Death Knight with mostly blues, and burning through all trinkets, potions and buffs, she got me down to 2% (!) before i killed her. No cake walk if you dont have any kind of CC

Soloed as 67 frost mage, used IV and Water Elemental.
Usual kiting, she shouldn't damage you between Blink, Shattered Barrier, Frost Nova, Elemental Freeze and Deep Freeze.
Shatter combos to kill her.

Was easily able to solo it with a 65 enhance shammy with full BoA gear.

Bewteen wolves, Shamanistic rage and totems, finished the fight with full health and mana.

Was able to take her as a 65 destro 'lock, IL 90. Stood well back, let my VW keep aggro while I kept him healed. DOTted her up and hit her with the odd Shadow bolt as I got the chance. Took a while, and I was hurting when I killed her, but it was doable. Good luck!
